Oh cheers mate for posting! You put a huge nostalgic grin on my face by looking down that beautiful bonnet again and what a soundtrack!
Almost 40 years ago I had my Capri's, three 2L (2xmk2 1xmk3) and one 3L mk3, my favourite was a mk2 3L ghia in jupiter red with a beige vinyl roof and tan interior (peco exhaust and cherry bombs 😉). I actually believed that one day I would get a 2.8i followed by a tickford but alas that never happened. Graduated to more practical Sierra 2.0i gls, good and quick but still not a capri. Those were the days, great ford cars that were a fun drive and cool to look at. And if they went wrong, well ... park it in the garage and get your spanners out, no science degree required.
Thank you for sharing and making me smile.

Your video is awesome what VAT is actually in the American or a Rover V8 SD 1 one because that sounds awesome pity you can’t take a picture of the whole body of the car and show me what clocks you’ve got in the dashboard and back so I can put a V8 conversion into it because I sold it back to Capri club in 2007 😀😀😀 it brings a smile back to my face

      Hello Ian
Its Rover 3.5 with standard clocks but a late rev counter so it can be adjusted for the V8.
I will try and get some more clips up
      Thanks

What size engine was in there before you put the 35 v8 did you ever go to the Capri club shows in Evesham now did it take you to put the engine conversion did you have it done for you did you put it like it let me know please because I’m interested in doing the project but I’ve Gotta get free first before I do anything Capri

Sorry for my late reply it was a 2.8i never been to Evesham.
If you had an engine and box ready to fit you would need to cut the sump to fit behind cross member make up engine mounts to position engine adjust gearbox tunnel make new gearbox mount.
Have prop shaft made and balanced, convert clutch to hydraulic using modern mini master cylinder, adjust fuel pipes to suit, bigger radiator, remote oil filter, rover p5b exhaust manifolds and adjust to capri 2.8 exhaust, temp sensor from ford, late model rev counters are adjustable to v8, there is probably more im sure but this will give you an idea 😁👍
