😂 "70s man, I don't know what to tell you" 😅 Love you guys 😊 Hope you got to catch up and show Ren around NY. Freckled Angels is my favourite album and tracks.
“Freckled Angel” is a reference to REN’s friend Joe Hughs (forgive me if I got the spelling wrong). There’s a series of songs about Joe, the first of which is the title track “Freckled Angle”. The other songs are “Suicide” and “For Joe”. All worth checking out, but bring tissues. There is also a restaurant at Menai Bridge, UK, named Freckled Angel after Joe.
freckled angels album was named for Joe, who had a ton of freckles.. Joe took his own life when Ren was 19.. joe was one of his Best friends.. there is a single on this album named Freckled Angels and it was written right after he lost his friend.. there is a live version of that song that you should react to, but bring your tissues... It's very emotional, the live version was recorded only 8 months after he lost him.. it's a very young Ren... The other songs about Joe were, How to be me, Suicide, and For Joe...
I would add that "How to be me" with Chinchilla is referring to his loss of his great friend Joe. That loss - along with the loss of 2 more friends within the year had a profound effect on our boi, all around the same time he started getting so ill. He has really been through it!

To me part one is about his love for music and part two is about his love for the writing process, playing with words, finding the rhymes, choosing a theme and running the whole nine yards with, keeping the balance between intricate rhymes and still making sense etc. all of that fun stuff :)
I think it was a tribute for Joe, His mate that left him. They even have a restraunt in Brighton names freckled Angles also ! If you listen to his song " for Joe " Freckled Angles.. hanky's required !!
I think the music style you were thinking of is Ska- a mix of punk and reggae (think Sublime). Looking forward to your react to part 4. Total breakdancing track.

Yes exactly , we were thinking more corner deli snacks because that’s what we could realistically afford on our own back in the day hahaha, but I do agree Italian ices where definitely something we ate a lot of, ran us 50 cents , they sold them at delis as well
Love this! Your faces when you realise what Ren was doing with the James Bond scheme. I had to go back and relisten myself the first time I heard LM2 to check that. This song is so fun….think you’ll enjoy 1990s with the nostalgia. Can’t wait to see you do LM3 (my favourite of the series). 💜
The music beat behind the lyrics reminds me of English "Ska" music that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae, the brass instruments especially the saxophone are a core element to Ska...

We'd love to see you play sax! Do you ever incorporate it into your songs?
You know we haven’t yet, but might just do that !

I thought lichens were moss that grows on tree bark
Lycan is a werewolf, lichen is the plant-fungi stuff, and what he said was "linguistics of a lion." Even knowing that, I still have a hard time hearing it.
Well, it's the time for 1990s song by Ren. Enjoy
You're saying it sounds like Ska (music) punk/reggae
I lost track at 22 JB movies!
Damn it was that many ?
@StrawhatDynasty more than that actually!
I say Bollacks here. Basically, when my coworkers are being total dumb-asses I say "Well, that's just BOLLACKS". They just stare at me. ONe Bro knows all the James Bond movies, the other does not. LOL Octopussy was an awesome movie. Pussy Galore was also a main character in Goldfinger!
Bollocks is used a lot here in Ireland. Fun fact aIrish actor Colm Meaney eho played achief O'brien on Star Trek used thr word bolkocks during a taping & they left it in the episode cause he said it was an Iridh exclamation- kinda true but you're stretching the truth a bit there Colm! 😂😂😂
hey guys, highly recommended by Ren before he got sick with his band "Trick the Fox" where Sony Music became aware of him.
