I avoided listening to most of the singles so I could experience as much of the album as fresh as possible. Today, I took a walk among the trees and listened to the whole thing in full. It is beyond words. This is the B&C album we all needed. Thanks guys for real ♥️
Jon Simmons seems like he could write any words down he wants to, and he'll be able to make it into a catchy, emotional vocal line. It's seems so effortless
Well, I read that he's been kinda picked on by the fan base at times for having bad lyrics. I think it was right around the time Light We Made came out. To some extent, I have to agree, but only on TTWTWM forward, until this album. And don't get me wrong, TTWTWM is one of my all time favorite records. But I can admit that some of the lyrics are kinda bad. Moreso on Light We Made. BUT, the lyrics on this record are some of the best I've ever heard. "Guilt trip, left in a voicemail. Erase or ignore still? Or play it back all the time." I mean, he really dug deep and got personal with this album. That's a big reason that it's their best, in my opinion. Balance is in their prime.
this record fits perfectly amongst the rest. Absolutely fantastic start to end. Worth the wait in every way. Still pretty surreal that they came back in the first place.
closer to god is immediately my fave of the bunch but my god...what a perfect album. these songs are incredible, and the production is off the chains. thank you B&C for returning with such an amazing album

Great to have some new music from these guys and it's already my favourite of the lot. This album treads a good path between their earlier, harder alt rock sound and some of the softer elements they brought out in Light we Made. And of course, that sound, the Balance and Composure sounds, the mix of vocals and guitar riffs, is very, very welcomed.
