Thanks Georgie - you still have plenty of flowers to work with. The dahlias are divine! I have yet to get mine in the ground as delivery of tubers is delayed because of our NZ lockdown. I'd love to know what seeds you direct sow in autumn - if any. I direct seeded calendula, poppies, sweet peas, forget-me-nots and a few others which all came up beautifully. And my larkspur which I had given up on are now poking their heads up. I direct sowed them a month or so ago after a spell in the freezer. I was reading yesterday about your heat wave - keep cool. :)

Lots of Hardy annuals to sow in the autumn - I have an online workshop on the subject if you’d like to book a place? Xxx

I can’t believe you still have sweet peas blooming in September. It’s too hot in my area to grow them any other time than early spring. There is an American writer of book on cool flowers says to grow your sunflowers closer together to get smaller blooms with thinner stems especially in late summer. It’s been 108 heat index still so I haven’t been able to plant any of my biennials in the ground. You have so many beautiful blooms still! Your dahlias are amazing!! Can you suggest rose varieties that are must grow. I’ve just begun adding roses to my cutting garden area. When do you typically get your first frost? I really enjoy you and your content. Thanks

It’s hot here today - will get to about 84 which for us is steaming - but otherwise we’ve had quite a cool summer - really I’m beginning to clear quite a lot today ready for mulching and over the weekend I’ll water and seed the polytunnel for next spring - we usually get first frost around first weekend October but first knockout frost not till early November x

You're welcome, best of luck with the Roses. I find they aren't as hard as you think, once you get the answers. He has some really good interviews.
