I'm 67 yrs, 5' 1'' tall, have a 100 + tall pine leaning towards my bed in the house!
I have a 12" batt chain saw and I'm an invalid.
I have learned from you how to fell trees and I have thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
The little ones (narrow 50 ft or so) are actually good for me, I get confidence.
The hinge is the answer, too true. Slowly does it, too true.
Thank you so much for sharing, a true you.

My wedge banger of choice currently is an old 6lb (more like 5.5) atha sledgehammer on an old handle that was on my great grandfathers sledgehammer (l have that too, put a new handle on it, would hate to break grandpas old handle!) Come to think of it the power saw was his too. 25 y/o 44cc echo.

We had a ton of blow-downs in PA during March and April, how do you tell it's from root-rot? On target with this giant tree, as usual! It's so interesting to hear you explain everything that you are thinking before you cut and as you cut, honestly, I don't understand it all, but like you said, that's OK, lol...it's interesting to hear your thought process.
