They say it's not rocket science, of course it's not but so many things can go wrong. Your knowledge and experience are built on the field with real consequences. I appreciate you sharing that wisdom, keep up, thank you Billy!
the master is in his groove and his element and the master is always humble and realistic about his plan witch is why it always goes according to plan for him because he took his time to assess his tree before he does step 2 and 3
I was looking forward to this one. Great advice all around, especially about letting the other guy take the load so you can engage your clutch before taking over the pull. I have seen someone burn out a clutch pulling a tree, though the cutter did a bad job as well.
The pat on the back is thrown the power saw on the shoulder and heading home after a job well done, absolute epic display of a man that has mastered what makes him happy. I look forward to making it to this point in my life. Thank you for showing us it can be done.
Thank you Rick and Ron for helping Buckin with these trees. Nice pull good to see Ole Sylvia doin work again. Nice work Buckin. You rock brother and I hope all is well my friend. Love ya brother. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
You are truly amazing Billy, I’ve learned a lot watching your channel I’m over here in New York not far from Ironhorse, I don’t do logging but I’ve cut firewood for my heating needs most of my life,
Learned a lot on that one Buckin! Thanks for posting! Got a big job coming up with a bunch of weird trees. You've definitely expanded my bag of tricks! Thank you.
This was just an outstanding class in felling. Yes, each tree, each scenario is different, but Billy 'splains it all in great detail. Thank you, teacher. Teacher Billy. lol. You are an asset to mankind.
Sorry for having my C30 parts vehicle and G30 van in the way when you're working hard at these terrible trees. Just want to say thank you for taking the stress off my uncle knowing the neighboring house is safe now. I'm just the nephew and don't know her name, but I can say we should be as neighborly as we can. Visit, help and just keep them safe
Learnt so much from you not only from this video but from all the previous footage I've watched. Becoming confident more and more each day. Thank you B.B Ray. Love from Australia
You have a good hook-up. Now, if you can keep both pullers in sync, and make sure they give you ample time to make the cut, all should go well. If they pull hard too early, the butt log will split upwards, kicking back.
Great job , you had some good lads giving you a leg up . Sylvia is a gorgeous piece of kit . That pull by the digger to get it going was the dogs . Great video 👍🇬🇧
There's always that variable of the quality of your holding wood.....keeps you from relaxing lol, that was so enjoyable. I thought you were putting it more down the hill, so there was true excitement when she started going! Thank-you for taking us along.
Exalen pull Billy , That was nothing but good . You putting Silvia on the job was a great call . All good sir , Again Billy, Happy Father's day. Love Wins
I’m not a professional but there where a couple of hard leaning trees over my pond that I used my truck to pull in the opposite direction so I wouldn’t have to fish them out. This video confirms I was in right wheel house for the method I used. Happy Father’s Day! Thanks 🙏
Great content here.... was thinking we are in Michigan with large maple looking out for direction but BBR is into the hard wood. Nice to see when BBR has so much coming at him everyday. That's a good thing.. stay busy
Buckin I really appreciate and enjoy this video. I have got a big Red Oak to cut this week that is in exactly the same shape as this tree was. I know exactly how I am going to attack it when I get to it next week. Thanks for your time and for the video
Dave Wilson it went well, I used my 648 G3 John Deere log skidder to hold it and winch it over once I got it cut enough that I was comfortable it would go where it i needed it to go. Thank you for asking
@@markcrouch3126 lol, is there a better feeling than when it's safely on the ground? I haven't cut in years, just split and burn for heat, but I still love saving the money!
Was thinking of this tree fall all day yesterday/last night and this morning. Kept saying to myself that a hard lean like that and those giant branches growing out the back is super dangerous, so double pull lines makes it possible. I'm sure you're familiar with the term "performance art" Best display of large action outdoor edutainment performance art. Great camera work and great Woodman song. Buckin's harmonica solo in that song just freakin kills... When your lower body hurts it's time to work on upper body. 60 second pull up, 30 sec up, 30 sec down. Once a week Of course I'm only 135 lbs so it's easier for me than most. I'm shooting for 60 sec up, 60 sec down. Trying to get ripped and shredded at 67. Love to all the Buckin Army Stay safe Stay strong Be kind Be honest 🌲🌲🧗🌲🌲💚
Watched this with great interest! Considering the alternatives, for example, dropping some branches in the neighbor's yard; you successfully kept all the cleanup on the client's property instead. I learned some things today. Like setting the rope with the pickup. Pulling with the mini-ex. Cool stuff! I'd try this in the forest, but for the high stakes residential gigs you got the pros like Billy Ray!
I dont do tree work anymore, but one of the last we did was a huge White Oak leaning towards a camp, same type of deal you had there. Climbed it,put a 5/8 polypro in it,hooked it to the truck, rope was at 60 to 70 ft.Dumped some weight on the way up,well started to pull and cut, drive wedges, and the tree is going and doesnt the rope snap, yeah! So it did land sort of near where it was supposed to! Long story short, the owner shows up and was happy it was down and says, nice work now we can tear down that camp so we can start building the new one! We coukd of put it right through the place ,didnt matter! All that work for nothing!
every nite is a school nite ..................thank you for sharing your knowledge ......... was a man near us that used to cut down trees for people .......mostly road side jobs ........always used a large tractor and wire rope ....... he got the job done ........ single handed .!.......he lost all of the fingers and thumb of his left hand when he was a lad ........would put most men with 2 hands to shame .......! god rest his soul .........
You left a ton of holding wood and she went anyway . Great job ! , I usually do both the falling and the yarding. One man show . The pickup makes a great skidder , use it all the time . Needs to be a 4 x 4 though . Edutainment right on Billy 👍🇨🇦
You are one of the rare guys that shows difficult trees. Usually it is just the chapter one textbook tree. Almost anybody can fall that straight tree, or slightly forward leaning with an introduction into the chainsaw and a 15 minute crash course in tree cutting. But these non standard trees separate the men from the boys! ;)
This is how it's done boys and girls. He made sure that tree couldn't fall the wrong way with his truck. Every tree surgeon out there should watch this. Way to go Buckin Billy.
Hi Billy I really enjoy your show. The positivity is very uplifting and great for everyone thank you for that! I live in north west Washington. On scary tree felling another man's happy place, I had a question. I've cut a lot of danger trees along roads around houses and power lines, heavy leaners. I've always cut my back cuts about 2in lower than my first cut so the the tree can't jump the stump, when being pulled or pushed. I realize I loose wedge lift but in this situation it's just to hold the tree. I've never had a problem using this method. I wondered what your thoughts might be on this method? Thank you for your time, and your show it's great. I just started watching and I'm very happy I did. You have a great knowledge of felling you don't see that very often, I've only seen it in the man I learned from and 1 other and they were both older men that are retired now. Thank you for your time, and sharing this awesome fun stuff with everyone. I'm going to start watching more of the different things you do besides just the cutting. Thanks again stay happy and hope maybe I can here your thoughts on my question. Thanks again, Jess.
Im going back and forth about the video in text to my buddy almost forgot to leave a comment. AMAZING Work.. That is a pro feller quality and the pro has to be a real deal feller. Thats not training wheels tree... Thats a big boy fall And it requires a wealth of experience. BBR is awesome.
I LOVE the way you take your time to explain the process. You have helped me understand so much about working around trees. One question please, what brand of wedges do you use? I would like to up my game on what I currently use. Again thanks so much for what you do!!
I tried cutting a tree down today. Been sick for a week with some weird virus that has been going around. Lol. I spent the down time watching your videos. Probably should of waited another day or two before playing. That said there is a tree laying in my front yard waiting to be picked up. So the tree I cut down was a dead pine. Small. Other trees had grown around it some. I did the cuts and it didn’t fall. I tried to push it. It ended up sliding off the stump and was still standing. I’m the man! 😂
They say it's not rocket science, of course it's not but so many things can go wrong. Your knowledge and experience are built on the field with real consequences. I appreciate you sharing that wisdom, keep up, thank you Billy!
I dunno, it's a very different set of skills, but it is just as knowledge heavy,

Buckin' - I just love watching your videos. Thanks for the good time.
The women on the back porch of the house was really confident of your job. She knew that Tree was not coming her way. Just love it...

It looks dangerous but safe. You are a great guy fun to watch with a ton of positive energy.
Buckin, Those mountains are beautiful. Very similar to some of the ones here in New Hampshire. Congrats on losing the weight. That’s awesome.
