Beautiful reaction man, your comments really made me rethink the whole concept of this music video. Thank you for this, and thank you for being open minded. RIP Mac, most dope forever.
I never get emotional over things like this, but Macs passing hit me like no other. I broke down in tears listening to this for the first time last night. Thank you Mac for helping me fight my demons, hope to see you on the other side.
I felt the same way when Mac passed. It hit me hard. Mac is my all time favorite. His talent was absolute magic. I say this to everyone, MAC was gonna change the world. I promise he was gonna change this world. He was the best to ever do It. It’s almost like Mac knew what was coming 💔💔💔
I so sorry for your loss brother. Please know that his energy will live in you forever, try to remember that and keep your head up. Positive energy coming your way man.
“I haven’t seen the sun in a while, but I heard the sky’s still blue. Heard they don’t tLk about to too much no more. Thats the problem with a closed door.” That part sounded like he was talking to us from the other side when I heard it the first time, and it made me very emotional
Man I was getting chills when I was watching this. This album is going to be legendary man!!!!! Ima be in tears man!!!! RIP MAC LOVE AND MISS YOU!!!!!!!!
Never really listened to mac Miller before but I watched this video cause ik you were a big fan and you know how to break down songs beyond the literal meaning. I really enjoyed the song in its entirety, much respect🙏🏽
My sister broke the news of his passing to me and I broke into tears. First thing I did was show her that exact song on tiny desk because it just perfectly explained how depressing the news was.. man.
I wasn’t a Big Mac Miller fan but I do know he was crazy talented and amazing. Seeing this reaction makes me emotional, I don’t know how Ern was feeling exactly but I see a sparkle in his eyes. I wish I could give him a hug.
6:55-8:00 Perfectly explains the way I felt about his death. I became a fan in high school (freshman) when he just dropped Kids and in a way it felt like we grew up together..just surreal but glad someone understands.
I think thats why his death hit me so hard. We grew up together. My cousins put me on Mac and we all had such a bond over his music. Now he's gone. Its crazy.
When that G Wagon popped up and this mans eyes were in the rear view mirror and he and his deceased dog traversing the otherside/universe together had me emotional, I can’t deny it
I've been a huge fan of your reactions for a while. The NF reactions are what brought me to you. You break down songs and videos like no other. This reaction however is my favorite, because Mac Miller is my favorite artist of all time. I could've said rapper, but he was so much more than that. No other artist could do what he did. Rap, jazz, indie, every album sounding different from the other, his ability to play so many instruments, being #1 on the billboards as an independent artist, and so on. This song and video is just so surreal. It's like he's talking to us from the other side. I miss him so much. I'm so glad you reacted to this. Thank you.
Terry Davidson thank you so much! And I agree. The dude was just a talent unlike any in music rn. MAYBE Anderson paak. Maybe. The dude could do it all and had such a good energy
I always tell people Mac was a musician. He wrote every single song, produced all his beats and played more than one instruments. He was crazy talented and such a humble guy that we all relate to. Mac just speaks to my soul.
Subscribed, life long mac fan also, the things you broke down with the imagery of the video that related to the song took the meaning of this whole song to another level for me. One thing I noticed is the dog in the G-wagon at the end is his dog Ralph that passed away around the time of GOOD AM. RIP Mac, never forgotten and thankful for all the happiness and help your music brought to us growing up 🙏
At the very end he puts in headphones and walks out into the light. The light people see when they pass on. I was already crying listening to that song, but all the symbolism and then for the video to end in such a way? It made this song resonate with me even more. Same as you I grew up listening to Mac! Blue slide park was the album for my entire 8th grade year and I just feel like I grew up and became an adult the same time as him. I’m 24 now and all of his song still hit me emotionally. I was super sad when I heard of his passing and I’m grateful for the Circles album. Thank you for the reaction!
Ernest I love your videos man. That Mac song had me in tears especially with that video. I grew up "with" Mac too and this was the first celebrity death that crushed me... Amazing breakdown of the video I think you nailed it once again. Much Love. Peace
Dude, the thought process you had behind this video was noting less but insane. The way you pick up on all these details so quickly. Bruhhh!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. This was way better than I thought it would be. RIP!
I'm only halfway through man and this the most beautiful reaction I've seen yet. So many people fail to see how much of a musician and a beautiful soul Mac was. Mac wasn't just a lyricist, like 99% of rap artists today - he had a direct influence on every part of his sound, from the arrangement and production to the lyrics. To watch him grow as an artist was truly a privilege.
“I feel High but I’m underneath the ceiling” I think it means when your high on drugs instead of life you are underneath the ceiling. I have known that feeling of joy, ecstasy peace, and greatness before in my life. Your happy and on top but if’s all false your actually trapped in your own mind. After the end of the video and you talking bout how he looked so happy till the end drugs will do that. I’m not hating Him either I just have been through that. I could be wrong it’s just what came to my mind as I listened.
Yeah man, this is why I try to stay away from daily drugs use. You might feel high and good at that time, but its a false reality. You arent really that ´high´, you still underneath the ceilling.
His music was therapie for him and he gave that to us in hopes it will help us too there comes a time in everybodys life where u have to grow up and see things the way they are or you will be lost in that cycle of drug abuse he tryed to open our eyes to the truth what you make out of it is your part he cant do that for you self care bro Thats the way i see it he helped me get clean awhile ago and now im swimming in circles of being strong and being weak again Ps im not a native speaker so please excuse my writing
Awesome commentary man. Much love and congrats on your channel. I was also particularly impressed by the direction of the animations - it’s so detailed and thoughtful.
Bro, problem with a closed door its obviously referring to closing the coffin door as in being dead. Thats why he doesnt hear the people talking about him
@@jzx100chaser8 Could be both. He most likely was closed off to the outside world before his death. He got lot of paparazzi and shit attention because of Pete Davidson, Ariana, his DUI etc. I feel like he just needed some peaceful time. And he closed to the outside world, creating music, and doing drugs, sadly.
Dylan Colazo Douriet closed door doesn’t refer to that at all just look it up and you’ll quickly find you’re wrong dude. It means being closed off to others.
You ever think its a statement with multiple meanings because his emotions were so complex he wanted his music to be the same? It doesn’t have to mean any one thing? Expand your mind.
I've been going through reactions for this song and visuals all morning because I knew someone, somewhere, saw what I saw and heard when I first heard it. You did just that and so much more bro... You've definitely earned my subscription. I just lost my bestfriend and he was a big fan of Mac Miller - in fact he introduced me to Mac back in 2013. This song both comforts me and makes me sad. I'm struggling right now. I'm in the worst place and everyday I pretend to be okay because the people around me won't understand what I'm going through. TBCH if I wasn't such a coward, I would've ended my life right now. I wake up every morning wishing I hadn't.
I'm not much of an emotional person, but the moment i heard of his passing it was like my whole Existence, all my experiences, from being a kid to who i am today began to vanish and the only thing i could see in my mind was the cover for "Swimming".(Malcolm sitting upright against what looks to be a big metal vault door(maybe a submarine hatch?)eyes closed, wearing a pink tux with no shoes on and dirty feet.) Just like you mentioned in this reaction video^ about watching Mac grow up from a High School Kid simply dropping a mixtapes to Multi-Millionaire & Legendary Musician who tragically passed away at age 26... Im 3 years younger that Malcolm and I've followed him since his very first mixtape "But, My Mackin ain't Easy" in which time he referred himself as Easy Mac. I never got to see him preform live and its one of my biggest regrets in life. Music is very important to me and i couldn't go a day without it. 75%of what i listen too is the work Malcolm. I cant explain the tragic feeling i experienced when i found out he had passed. The past few years i've had 3 close friends pass away and one majorly twisted breakup, which began one hell of a drug problem which lead too me overdosing & resulting in my heart stopping for 9 seconds.... I still struggle with daily drug-abuse. All of these were painful and challenging to recover from but Malcolm's death was the hardest of them all... How can somebody i've never met in person have this effect on me? Life is full of tragedy and pain, & as for me i always run straight to Mac Miller... He put everything he was into his music, his success, failure, love, happiness, anger, pain, sadness, regret... As Malcolm created music, his music created who he was and thus who we are.. that's why his fanbase is so massive. Malcolm was more than just an Artist, Musician, Celebrity, etc... & So many of his fans saw him as a Leader & a Teacher. It's nice to see that there are people out ther who feel the same way i do about him and his music. & I love the way you explained all the Raw Emotion that comes with his music. Thank you for making such an accurate & professional reaction video Special thanks to everyone involved with his music. RIP to Mac, my favorite artist, my Idol, my Mentor..
Yo thank you so much for this video. I connected with you so much through this video. It’s nice to know there’s people out there like you that care as much as I do about this dudes work. His growth. His message/es. New sub. I’m going to the listening party in Pittsburgh next Friday you should go!
My music enthusiast friends don’t really enjoy Mac. So to be able to share this experience with someone like you who really appreciates his mucus. Incredible. Thanks man . 🙏🏼🔥💯 Well worth a subscriber.
This is my favorite reaction/review. You caught most of the meaning and symbolism. A lot of people just got in their feels and didn't dig into each bar. Here you did both 10/10 man
I still come back to watch this sometimes. It’s my favorite review you’ve done. I liked all your interpretations, I always think of new things each time I listen to it. I can’t believe he’s gone. I hope he’s at peace.
Like you I first heard Mac from KIDS and I basically watched him grow from a silly kid from Pittsburgh to the beautifully talented artist he was. His death still affects me to this day. I honestly felt like I lost a friend or family member. He was SO much more than just a rapper and I appreciate everything you said. 1/17 is going to be emotionally rough but his legacy lives on. 🙏❤️
You gained a subscriber bro! I cried with you. It’s tough! RIP Mac and thanks to his producers and family for this upcoming album. THIS IS the most emotional song/video I’ve ever listened to. “There ain’t a better time than today” chase your dreams people and have love in your heart.
He truly was my biggest inspiration and I always wished I could take the pain away for him. This music just makes his passing feel that much more real. Fuck man the 17th is going to be so hard. Peace, love, and blessings to everyone.
Your breakdown was on point👌 keep it up. Mac was the first celeb I was emotional about too. Miss him back down on earth. This video really was perfect.
I'm happy you said that you've watched him grow. I started listening to him in middle school when koolaid and frozen pizza was the first song I heard. His music helped me through so much. Felt like part of my childhood passed with him. R.I.P rest easy Mac.
I saw a couple of your Lupe Fiasco vids and the way you break stuff down and actually catch the little things is great man. Spot on with this video too man
@@TheThirdErnest hey man you break down Lupe songs like they're meant to be.. there's layers to his stuff man. And the reaction to Macs song and breakdown of the visuals and lyrics were on point dude 👍
Wow, can’t believe it’s been 4 months since I found your channel, I came for the Mac reaction and stayed for NF reactions. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re the best!
Isn't it crazy how someone passing is so deep. What other song could perfectly encapsulate him and his art? What a beautiful song, this is STRAIGHT POETRY...it is crazy how this song is about him basically knowing it was coming sooner rather than later, that's beautiful but also sad...RIP boy. Somehow the deepest, greatest artists end up gone too soon. This boy was a MUSICIAN not a rapper. I've seen him do a 50 cent cover playing the entire song on his guitar. He was mad talented. Great reaction as always man, the way you break it down, I can feel you feel it if that makes sense. Love what your building man, just keep the matches put away.
I'm from Pittsburgh. Grew up about 15mins away from him. The noise he made wayyyy before K.I.D.S. even dropped was crazy. We all knew he was gonna make his own way in the industry, it was just when. Growing up around the same age and being able to relate so heavily to the pains and struggles, especially coming out of our city, that isn't the same as LA or NYC, it was just DIFFERENT. I heard it also within the hour it dropped, and I can't tell you how emotional it was.
First time watching your channel man. You did a really good and insightful breakdown. Didn’t realize that his face was in the constellations. That was a dope find you pointed out. Great video!
You have no fucking idea how happy I am to hear this reaction. I relate so much cuz I saw him grow up too. from high school growing up, I related to every album at that specific time in my life. its the reason why I was so broken when he died. still my favourite artist. everything you said...you understand him the way I do. I appreciate that. #lovefromSouthAfrica
His entire album has been playing in my head since it dropped. Got me in my feels, what a week in music. RIP Mac🙏❤️ you are definitely missed. Hopefully we hear his music welcoming us when we get to wherever we go when it's our time.
Man this is unbelievable, so fucking amazing... I have to honest and say that I never got into Mac's music, I only heard bits and pieces of it through singles and his collaborations with TDE artists but I followed all his social media accounts coz I loved his energy ⛮ when he died I heard a lot more and realized how dope he was and I told myself I'll dive in but knowing that he's gone always stopped me from doing it, seeing this chocked me up so bad man, I am so sad and confused right now, I want to hear the rest of this album but I'm also so afraid of feeling like this man... RIP Mac you were a true artist
i feel that the "problem with a closed door" line is more about him being isolated and not getting out the studio, at least thats what i thought when i first heard it but opening the door to let negativity in hit hard too
Speaking as some one who has struggled with addiction for years. Thays what we do. We isolate. And many interviews he speaks on that. Met this young genius when he was only 15 years old outside a clothing store in The burgh called Timebomb spot, I never saw a change at least on the outside...he was a happy guy wanted others to be happy. Peace and Blessings to a 412 legend.
I thought I was done crying for Mac.. but this song is getting me in the feelings back again. This album is going to be a good bye from Malcolm to all the fans. 92 till infinity..
You’re the best at making reaction videos. Actually breaking down lines and digging deep into the meaning. Instead of just saying “Damn, real shit” or “that was dope”
good news is such a good song i been listening to it almost 2 full days already such a chill vibe song with such deep lyrics mac was and forever will be a freaking genius #MostDope rest easy mac (no pun indended)
This song makes me feel like he’s saying 0don’t hurt for me learn from me, I’m doing everything I’m doing in hopes you’ll listen and change our ways for all of humanities sake” the whole lot more waiting for me bar I believe is reference that his purpose will be served if he can make a change and this is the way he can make the change
there’s a lot of easter eggs in the video. just to point a few out: The numerous references to his tattoos. When he’s on the lotus could have two meanings. Either a reference to his good friend Flying Lotus; or as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. The dog in the car is his childhood dog that passed away (i’m kicking myself for forgetting it’s name) but in the car you can see Macs face in the rear view. they’re traveling the universe together. Also, another universe reference with the diver character. In the “Come Back To Earth” video, the diver is floating through the water, where now in this video he’s floating through the universe free, likely referencing mac. The score when he’s driving through the gaming sequence hits 1992 then jumps to 2018, the year he was born and the year he passed. In the beginning when the birds are flying, his grandfather was an avid birdwatcher which Mac has talked about, especially in Avian. Also, there is 26 birds, which was his age when he passed. I’ve heard one that was kind of a stretch but in swimming he says “i got a bone to pick like roses” and there’s roses in the beginning so it could be a hint towards that but i feel like that’s sort of a reach. I’m sure there’s plenty of others i missed so feel free to let me know any others you guys may find! Awesome video brother, love that you felt the song and didn’t just make the video for the clout.
Christian Kopec yes! i know it’s not him exactly, but i believe it’s meant to symbolize him. Mac loved him a lot and was devastated when they lost him.
I really feel like this is a heaven sent song and video from Mac.. I really have no words.. 💔 it hurts but also makes me feel more peaceful for him. We need Mac’s energy, love, and music in this dark world. He surely was a bright light in my world and that is where he’ll stay. 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻
I dnt know if it has been noticed by anyone but at the "end" of the music video.. when he walks through the window the outfit he wears is from his song "stay" yet in this he still leaves.....🥺
When I heard this song, I cried for 2 hours straight. The raw emotion in these last two albums, its hard not to. Like you said, I grew up WITH him, and he has always been in my playlist. He was an amazing person/artist, its hard to find musical talent like this now-a-days that can be so versatile. Circles will be the best album for the decade no doubt, forever Swimming in Circles.
As a 29 yr old that has similar feelings about mac miller, i almost cried with you man and ive seen this video so many times lol this shit was straight gold
I feel that bro we all grew with Mac man it’s tough it sucks cause even though we may not have known Mac personally we all can relate to him personally, I started with his kids album to now. Crazy that he’s gone.
Anyone else notice at 17:34 how he’s head is in the rear view mirror? I think it may be referring to his song “objects in the mirror” where one of his lyrics in the chorus is “leave it all in the rear view mirror” meaning leaving all his pain and problems behind him. I’m guessing this scene is a metaphor to that
Also what many people don’t see. The score on the top right when the car is driving into the sunset, goes from 1992 to 2018...
love you mac 💛
He’s also in the rear view mirror.
Beautiful reaction man, your comments really made me rethink the whole concept of this music video. Thank you for this, and thank you for being open minded. RIP Mac, most dope forever.

Thank you for making such an accurate & professional reaction video
Special thanks to everyone involved with his music.
RIP to Mac, my favorite artist, my Idol, my Mentor..
Jake Gourley All love and wish you all the best man ❤️
Hope you’re well
Yo thank you so much for this video.
This is my first time watching one of your videos, dude this is how a reaction should be. The way you elaborate what your experiencing is legit bro.
This is my favorite reaction/review. You caught most of the meaning and symbolism. A lot of people just got in their feels and didn't dig into each bar. Here you did both 10/10 man
Appreciate it man! Or woman! Lol
Lol np fellow man 😂
I’m currently fighting this knot in my throat😪
god same
same, 4 months later too
Watching the video broke my heart all over again bro 😭
DaBoiii same bro. Sad af he’s not here but happy for some reason
It’s a mixed bag of emotions man
Dude same i cried sonmuch
Trust me man. I’m actually sad, he was such a fucking amazing artist
That's a great observation of the concept of the music video man. I really appreciate this.
Great reaction Ernest... love the respect you showed. Rip King 👑
man, it was a really tough reaction but you did it!
thanks a lot for your emotions and your comments 👍🏾👍🏾
You gained a subscriber bro! I cried with you. It’s tough! RIP Mac and thanks to his producers and family for this upcoming album. THIS IS the most emotional song/video I’ve ever listened to. “There ain’t a better time than today” chase your dreams people and have love in your heart.
He truly was my biggest inspiration and I always wished I could take the pain away for him. This music just makes his passing feel that much more real. Fuck man the 17th is going to be so hard. Peace, love, and blessings to everyone.
Anthony Paskey that’s the only peaceful thing about his passing. He’s no longer burdened and now we carry it
Your breakdown was on point👌 keep it up. Mac was the first celeb I was emotional about too. Miss him back down on earth. This video really was perfect.
The way you reacted to this was amazing, thank you for this video man.
Just discovered your station, through the love of Mac, absolutely fantastic review, got a new subscriber!!!!! Amazing.
Thanks for the sub man!
I'm happy you said that you've watched him grow. I started listening to him in middle school when koolaid and frozen pizza was the first song I heard. His music helped me through so much. Felt like part of my childhood passed with him. R.I.P rest easy Mac.
An actual reaction! Love how much you had to say. Keep up the good work. Rest In Peace Mac ❤️
Love your reaction and thoughts on this! Already watched the video so many times but you brought up a lot of insight I didn’t think about
I saw a couple of your Lupe Fiasco vids and the way you break stuff down and actually catch the little things is great man. Spot on with this video too man
Appreciate you watching those man! I know those weren’t gonna do numbers but just had to get it out there
@@TheThirdErnest hey man you break down Lupe songs like they're meant to be.. there's layers to his stuff man. And the reaction to Macs song and breakdown of the visuals and lyrics were on point dude 👍
Wow, can’t believe it’s been 4 months since I found your channel, I came for the Mac reaction and stayed for NF reactions. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re the best!
Thanks for sticking around!
Looking up reactions to this song is now my alternative to having to cut onions
You killed it with this one man definitely earned a new sub. Fantastic review 💯 I literally can’t play this song without tearing up
First time watching your channel man. You did a really good and insightful breakdown. Didn’t realize that his face was in the constellations. That was a dope find you pointed out. Great video!
Drew Davis thanks man! I appreciate your time!
Good eye but it actually wasnt Mac's face. Its that one godess with 4 arms.
Or 6 i dont know much about her
This is crazy when I was watching your commentary video about mac miller I looked up mac and good news popped up I didn't know that was his new song
I'll never get over how good that "and maybe I'll lay down for a minute.." was.
Just stumbled on your channel, excellent breakdown of the video and song. It's beautiful all around
Always love what u have to say ✨ thank u for making videos and ngl I got teary throughout this
Came back to watch this video again for like the 10th time. Still hits. #RIPMac
His entire album has been playing in my head since it dropped. Got me in my feels, what a week in music. RIP Mac🙏❤️ you are definitely missed.
Hopefully we hear his music welcoming us when we get to wherever we go when it's our time.
THE BEST REACTION I HAVE WATCHED !!! You explained it perfectly..thank you!
AMAZING breakdown - this gave me a different perspective. Rest in paradise Mac x
i feel that the "problem with a closed door" line is more about him being isolated and not getting out the studio, at least thats what i thought when i first heard it but opening the door to let negativity in hit hard too
It can also be interpreted as after his passing that’s him closing the door so criticism doesn’t matter anymore
@@TheThirdErnest that too thats the beauty of macs music its all up for interpretation
Thank you man. This was a beautiful review
I thought I was done crying for Mac.. but this song is getting me in the feelings back again. This album is going to be a good bye from Malcolm to all the fans. 92 till infinity..
Man, this video made me tear up. I miss Mac so much man 😔 this album is just gonna got me in the feels for sure. Great reaction man!
Still can’t believe Mac is gone Mac and em we’re the first rappers I’ve ever started listening to 🖤🙏🐐
You’re the best at making reaction videos. Actually breaking down lines and digging deep into the meaning. Instead of just saying “Damn, real shit” or “that was dope”
Most dope reaction brotha, much love from PA ✌
Garasu Ka appreciate it man!
It’s most dope forever 🙏🏼 miss you Mac
Incredible break down man, also been with Mac since KIDS, got a new sub.
Great video man, this your first video I’ve watched. His passing still hurts
My throat is so choked up right now.
good news is such a good song i been listening to it almost 2 full days already such a chill vibe song with such deep lyrics mac was and forever will be a freaking genius #MostDope rest easy mac (no pun indended)
Yo, you put a great perspective on things
The last scene with his dog, you can see Mac’s face in the rearview mirror. He’s driving off with his faithful companion.. his dog.. love this shit
man i just found you from this, very introspective reaction, i love it. you should collab with tcthetopcat you guys are on the same wave
i subsrcibed too, i like your perspective
@6:50 same man. As he grew I grew with his music... I legit cried
Shit! you make me cry, just the song makes me cry, but your comments and your vibe was a dope extra! amazing video, long life Mac Miller❤️
Denni appreciate that! The dude will always be with us!
One of the smartest reaction videos out there.
Don’t forget about the 26 Doves at the beginning for each year of his life. RIP MAC
You did that mad justice bro. Great reaction.
#SometimesTrianglesAreJustTriangles 😉 #50K4February (new hopes for 2020 3rd Fam)
Jason Rewis appreciate it man! We got 20 days to get there! Lol
there’s a lot of easter eggs in the video. just to point a few out:
The numerous references to his tattoos.
Jake Patrick are you thinking of ralphie??
Christian Kopec yes! i know it’s not him exactly, but i believe it’s meant to symbolize him. Mac loved him a lot and was devastated when they lost him.
Mac was 26 when he passed not 28...
didnt think I was gunna see you again so soon
Dah Kolonoscopy haha was supposed to be uploaded at 9 am but didn’t schedule it righf
What a king Mac is, and always will be. One of the realest
Apotey all facts.
I love ur tattoos and ur open-mindedness. Also I'm crying in the club rn
Thank you for the video ! Enjoyed it a lot
Really good symbolic breakdown man, appreciate you
When I heard this song, I cried for 2 hours straight.
I’m guessing this scene is a metaphor to that
Amazing reaction!! I teared up a couple times.
We have the same exact feelings about this man dawg. R.I.P to our dawg💔
This song and video is so beautiful
Stephen Thompson I agree man. Exactly what I was hoping for and more
