I find it hard to believe that no one is mentioning this, but the Gulf Coast was spared *major* storm surge by the simple fact that Ida made landfall in tandem with *low* *tide* . I thought it was strange when I was watching the Biloxi Lighthouse Cam that the wave action appeared to "hit a brick wall." I then checked the tide tables and thanked the Lord. Miraculous timing and the storm never stalled, even though it slowed slightly.

Yeah, well this town they are filming from was literally wiped away when Hurricane Katrina hit! You don't have a clue. Every building, every house, every business. A 23 foot storm surge and 1200 deaths. Its not funny.
