This and part 2 are such good videos. The angle is just perfect. I've probably watched them 20 times since you uploaded and like 5 in the last week lol. I hope you do more hopper videos in the future!
The curbtender is kind of weird for me. It has my favorite "between the cab/body" arm in the business (so not counting Amrep, ZR, etc). But at the same time, it has the most abysmal hopper design I have ever seen. That covered cylinder has to be multiple stages to eject the load, which is a cool idea, but makes collection soooo much less efficient. All of that trash getting dragged back to the front must be a real pain in the ass, especially for the driver when he's close to packing out. Plus that rubber strip that's supposed to seal the follower panels, almost completely useless when you see how poorly placed and thin it is. Rubber isn't a good material for that sort of thing unless it is replaced frequently IMO. Bridgeport had the right idea, to use a metal flap that would both scrape the follower panel clear but also move freely. It also doesn't help to have no real crusher panel, just a flimsy hopper cover. Unlike the designers of the Curbtender hopper, you have done a fantastic job with this video. I love to see a hopper video start with the truck empty and gradually build up to see how the different amounts of trash in the back of the body affect the compaction cycles. Definitely added to my playlist of the best hopper vids. Thanks for sharing!
Great vid, these are my favorite. great angle too. I'm amazed at how many people don't bag their trash first!

Amen, The Curbtender packer is just as trashy as the trash it attempts to pack, and at least theres the scorpion that completely clear the hopper
Yeah, the full eject Labrie Automizer is the same way, sadly.
I dont recall my tip-to-dump Curbtender being as bad. Still has the cylinder in that spot though

Ziviozerk yeah the city deems some alleys too risky to service based on the tight turns, so they switch residents to street service
