Wheelie is a criminally Underrated Character and he deserves a Chance to Shine in the Spotlight.
I'd like to see that one day, though they should get rid of his rhyming gimmick or change it so he does that when he is really nervous.

Okay I'll admit, weather this is for better or worse, Wheelie actually now reminds me of Scrappy-Doo.
That tearjerking scene with Daniel and Wheelie exchanging goodbyes at the end of the Japanese G1 cartoon was really touching.
I actually owned Wheelie's backstory mini-book growing up, so perhaps for that reason, I've never hated Wheelie the way a lot of people did. I do feel I should clarify that Wheelie's family ship crashed on Quintessa because of a malfunction and it was the impact that killed his parents.

For the longest time I believed Paul Reubens voiced Wheelie instead of Frank Welker.

Frank Welker has done so many voices that I'm still surprised sometimes. I've gotten really good and knowing when I hear him but his range is so diverse. He's pretty amazing.

As a kid, I just find him annoying with the rhyming. What's even strange in season 3 is that Blaster rhymes too, but I find his rhyming cooler since he has a DJ like personality.
I was shocked to discover Wheelie's voice actor in TF:TM, as it didn't sound anything like Frank Welker! And I was used to all of his characters back then.
Then again, Megatron was a surprise, too! Never mind! 😅😂

I don't hate him that much like other fans, but I view Wheelie as the Michelangelo of the Autobots just like Cliffjumper as the Raphael, any who great retrospective, Rodimus.

Watched this while sipping my morning coffee, thanks brotha!!! I feel Wheelie absolutely deserves another chance in the spotlight. His communication via rhyming was/is so unique and aged well. I often wondered what adult Wheelie would look like, and the deluxe Jazz interpretation fixed that! Wonder what his parents were like 🤔

A friend of mine liked Wheelie, but I never did. But I actually always liked the '84, '85 TF better
I'm so happy you made a Wheelie retrospective! He is one of my favorite characters from G1. I honestly don't get why he gets so much hate from some fans.
You made the right call discussing Wheelie RodimusPrimal!!! This video is really informative, it might be best Transformers Retrospective. Wheelie is annoying most will agree, however the title of most annoying ever is challenged by none other then Waspinator. Thank you for this video that is most entertaining. Keep on being amazing.

Makes me wonder how Wheelie had an Autobot insignia in the cartoon movie despite that he was completely unknown to the entire Autobots. I am also surprised how many times that Wheelie saved the Autobots in various media despite his size

An early version of Jar Jar Binks of Transformers. 2:24 I didn't know that, and yeah, they make Wheelie's model bigger to close the high of Hot-Shot. *Hopefully, Hasbro makes an Amanda Universe Endo toy someday.* 6:06 Basically, talking like Spongebob but as a Cybertonian and talk normal. 7:06 Slingshot or blaster and also being annoying with rhythms, he can make small ones into big ones. 12:04 Wheelie should come back and I picture him talk both in rhythms and talk normal when the Autobots and Teletraan 1 have a hard time understanding people who talk in rhythms and the name Wheeles can be Wheelie's nick name. I personally think Wheelie's back story and SG Wheelie's story are some of the most exciting in Transformers lore.

Yeah I think Wheelie needs another chance in a spotlight. I wish the prequels of the movie franchise gave us interesting and original looking characters like Wheelie and Brains. I heard "RapTrap" was going to be a small rat character but got cut from Rise of the Beast but yeah, Wheelie was really awesome in T3, glad he wasn't like the orange version in the original kids movie because honestly I didnt even finish the film after that thing started rhyming.

Wheelie is a cool character. I do see the kid appeal characters as childish, like Wheelie, but we also have the likes of Cheetoh, Tasmania Kid, Stampy and Hot Shot to full the roles when Hasbro lost the trademark of Bumblebee. Wish they do something more with Tas and Stampy. The two need to be more then an afterthought.

I LIKE THIS CHARACTER!!!! They should have him in the movies!!! Would love him in a trilogy were he speaks every so often in 4 - 6 bar sentences but a few times busts a straight 12 - 14 - 16 in speech!!! WOULD BE DOPE AS HECK!!!! DAMN - SO HE'S A ANTI OR VILLAIN IN MOST VERSIONS!!

Perfect!👌 Overall, I’m fine with Hasbro leaving Wheelie alone for a while. I’m not the biggest Wheelie fan, as the toy and character always came across more like a Gobot than a Transformer😂
One thing about Wheelie that wasn’t mentioned in this video… In Last Bot Standing, Veteran Wheelie stopped speaking in rhyme in favor of communicating in haiku. This resulted in a scene where he yells “damn” over and over again in proper haiku form in response to “Old Man Rodimus” getting an energy transfusion that returned him to his prime.
of all my surviving G1 toys, I have Brawn and Wheelie, and because I got the Takara Godmaster/Bomber Ginrai set, I had to get the Takara Wheelie to get Shuta for Cab and Minerva. I also have Studio Grimlock and was always contemplating the DNA kit
I think when I was a kid, I liked his car mode, but I didn't care for him in the movie/cartoon
I never overly cared for Bumblebee either, but Hound was that original human friend character in the first part, and I think I latched onto him, even though he was phased out of the role
Hmm, never saw Gau from FF3 (ff6) from that angle, neat. And I never knew about the Tech Spec card saying he was a survivor of crashed colonist ship, I guess I never really gave Wheelie's presences much thought, guess it makes senses. Also, I HATED that seen where Makela just lest that perv hump her leg, what girl would just let that happen and call him 'Loyal'. Freaking degrading to Megan. Great retrospective. The little guy doesn't get much love but he's important to the movie and other continuity. Great work Rodimus!

if you've ever played Final Fantasy VIII, you might note that Wheelie's toy face and huge arms and hands honestly bears a resemblance to the Gesper enemy (seen in two of Laguna's scenarios).

Welker has amazing range. He can sound like a squeaky pre-pubescent boy (Marvin in the super friends), or like a dark god ( Darkseid also in Super friends, or Dr Claw from Inspector Gadget). There are tons of videos with Welker here on YT. You should watch some of them.

Michael Bay's version of Wheelie is eye-bleeding. To say that this Wheelie is a cancer for Transformers is an understatement. Michael Bay's humor is sick enough to say nothing worse.

I think I may have been too harsh on Wheelie. I think it's incredibly poignant that the oppressed Wheelie that hid from the tyrannical Quintessons would go on to free the Paradrons and those in fear of Chaos.

I have always hated Wheelie and Daniel. When I was a kid, I cringed whenever they had a scene in the cartoon. It's not the rhymes, it's because they are Kennys. I hated them as a kid and I hate them now. The fact that Wheelie was in Kiss Players just adds fuel to the fire.
