Manhattan and Coney Island bound R160A-2 and R160B Alstom/Siemens (F) Trains, with R46, R68 and R68A (G) Trains Relaying @ 4th Avenue-9th Street

Planned Work: Because of Structural Improvements, there were no (G) Train Service between Smith-9th Street and Church Avenue. (F) Trains provided alternate service

Nice! While this provided another great throwback moment, why not run G trains to 18 Avenue on weekends as well? There was no work being done on Culver that would’ve made it impossible.

Not really sure, though this could’ve been related to structural repairs on the portions south of here, which required flagging, thus reducing service.
Work is pretty extensive between Jay Street-MetroTech and Kings Hwy. One of which is structural improvements at Church Avenue for a new crossover. The other is upgrading interlockings, including at 18th Avenue. This may have required flagging and other service changes.
