I saw some negative comments as I was about to start, I wanted to look for another video as I didn't want to waste my time
But I kept scrolling and saw some nice comments, and there were a lot of them
    I decided to watch
Although the method you're using is different, probably cause I'm using b.s. 8110 the way you simplified and broke down things from the beginning helped me relate yours to what I was taught in class
Now I understand this part of the course
    Thank you very much ma

I think you forgot to add in the w/2 into the total reaction on each support at 41.20min, supposed to be 84kN reaction on each support as opposed to 41.35kN. Simple mistake otherwise a very good and helpful video for structural designers who are still learning. Thanks for sharing

What's interesting is, in practice, I've always dumped the load as a one-way slab onto the surrounding elements. This is conservative, but I always wanted to treat it as 2-way (of course, there is an objective way to determine based on the ratio of the larger dimension divided by the shorter dimension, but my boss always told me to treat as 1-way to be conservative).

Well explained, great appreciation for your hard work.
    Corrections
    1. I think you should mention every span is effective span and not clear span.
    2. @18:28 lx/3
    3. @41:27 total load is 41.36+42.64=84kN
Plz do a video for one more floor that will make it clear the load from column on above floor , how affects the shear of current beam under design.
    👍👌👏👏👏

Thank you for the amazing video. I have question in the UK we use EC2 and in factored load we use 1.35( Safety factor for dead) load and 1.5(Live Load) but you didnt use the safety factor 1.35 for yor dead load. can you explain why ? and also as requested by others please can you do a full detail design of house, Basement+G+2floors. THank you

    • @horton1269

if partition loads are considered then we have to subtract 33 percent of total load but if not then no need not multiply so he might have taken partion load and instead of subtracting he just let it be the actual load

Thank you ma'am for this video, btw I noticed at 41:17 you only solved for WL/2 therefore the reaction is only 41.35, but I think you forgot to add the W/2 since the formula for the reaction is WL/2 + W/2 ; 20.675(4)/2 + 85.275/2, then the reaction would be 83.9875KN?
