    Been watching your videos, definitely giving me more confidence. Would love to see a video going more in depth on the different topcoat options and their pros and cons - as that is where I am most confused (Urethane / Epoxy / something with powder added? ) . I saw the video on your website with the 3 different examples but it didn't go into too much detail about the pros and cons of each and what kind of texture it leaves on the counter - and then there are other videos where you are mixing a powder into a topcoat. Keep up the good work and thanks!

    • @LeggariProducts
      @LeggariProducts  6 лет назад +4

      We have 3 different top coat options. Glaze coat is our super high gloss top coat that lays out glass smooth just like the metallic epoxy coat. Our WB Urethane comes in high gloss and leaves a minor texture and we also have a WB Urethane that’s a Matte/Satin finish. Our top coats give you more durability and scratch resistant. Thanks

    Using an 1/8" square notched trowel will make sure you have the same amount of material across your entire project and would have saved you time as well. It will add one extra step though to remove the trowel lines. To remove them you simply use a "shorty" chop brush and randomly "chop" the surface keeping more towards the heal of the brush. This really helps mix the product and give you the best overall natural stone look.

    I really like this. Question- My kitchen counter is in an older mobile home. The counter is a laminated particle board that has a small area around the sink that has swollen due to water getting in behind the sink. Will your product self level OK there, or should that area be replaced? Also, how do I fix small gouges in the laminate? I have about 190 sq. ft. of counter space. Thanks

    It’s beautiful 😻.. but how can I incorporate that splash of gold that looks like it also has little speckles of iridescent colors. I saw it on someone who marbled theirs using white and gold. However, in certain areas you could see a splash of “glittering “here and there. It was gorgeous!!! 😻♥️😻♥️

      Hey Ashley. Put a white base down then the resin as instructed in the video. And instead of the white marble effect spray, use the company's black (www.amazon.com/Montana-MXE-M9000-Effect-Marble-Black/dp/B00XJDEVJQ ; not an affiliate link), and silver sprays (www.amazon.com/Montana-4336969559-Effect-Marble-Silver/dp/B011M23H22 : not an affiliate link). I am amazed at this product and so glad I stumbled across this video. I am wondering what is the down side that would make people actually pay so much for granite when this stuff is so beautiful. I have been browsing the gallery and bookmarked the website. Can you actually put food on the counter top? How long does the shine last? How does it hold up to hot pots and pans?

    • @LeggariProducts
      @LeggariProducts  5 лет назад

      Our products are actually industrial coating made for military aircraft hangers, etc. So theoretically in a residential, or even commercial setting it will last forever. This is NOT a cheap epoxy paint that you will commonly find at box stores like Home Depot or sherwin Williams. It is a thick 100% solids epoxy coating. We recommend always putting food on plates on all countertop surfaces. Thanks

    I would like to do this with about a 2' backsplash... Is there a problem with that much of a vertical application? Thanks!
    BTW: Awesome video with excellent instruction and building of confidence.

    How would you do the backsplash counter? Remove and re-glue to the wall?

    I loved the video and I am in the middle of redoing my kitchen countertops. I have sanded and scraped off the Givani coating that I applied 2 years ago. Now I am ready to do something like this and I have 2 questions, #1 do you have a kit for this or do I buy everything separately and #2 is this food safe? I never thought about it when I did my last project that looked awesome but I wanted a Glass looking finish, that being said my sister asked me so therefore I am asking....I am thinking regardless of how you answer the last question I will still be attempting this as soon as I can get the product to my house

      Oh and yes I do not care about the hot pans or any other BS people are talking about simply because I have a cutting board for apples or veggies and I have a trivet for my hot things and never ever do I put them on my counter to begin with....I just would like to do this in 3 days and need some information...I am in the Raleigh Durham area of NC so if that matters as to how I can get the product please let me know. Thank you~

      Yes we do have a kit for this. You can actually order or price out a custom kit for that exact square footage through the Counters section of our website at www.leggari.com. Simply click on Counters >>>> Order Counter Kit Here, then follow the steps. Once the epoxy is sealed and cured there is no outgassing so yes it is food safe. Thanks

    What primer and base do you use ? Did you only sand be your waited more than a few hours to pour the epoxy?

    • @LeggariProducts

      Our primer is a water based epoxy specifically designed to chemically bond to almost all smooth surfaces. Our base coat is our colored epoxy. Thanks

      We have a high end epoxy that has an additive in it to make the bubbles rise to the surface and pop on their own. Thanks
