I think the reason this song speaks to so many, at least to me, is because we all have demons that we deal with, demons only we can see and hear. The demons that whisper to us, "you said you wouldn't do that again, but here you are, telling that lie, or hitting that pipe, or drinking that bottle, watching that video. You promised but here you are, weak." And we all have that demon, reminding us of all our wrongs, and all the mistakes. But Tom's point is you fight negativity with positivity. His demons telling him all the bad, but he fights back by making himself believe he's the best at what he does. Whether its true or not, believing you are is the first step to actually being the best, and having confidence in yourself, even when it's hard, is the best way to fight negative thoughts and addictions
