Definitely I’m no longer a nene. I’m in my 50’s and a proud A’Tin. I’m also an architect, a project manager and was a mall manager. The last time I checked, I’m a real person, as real as can be, not a dummy. I followed foreign bands when I was younger but I never followed any Filipino group until I discovered SB19. I wasn’t impressed at first, as a matter of fact, I was condescending and I was quick to badmouth them. This group of fine gentlemen who could be my children have changed my views of genre they successfully re-defined and brought Filipino music to the world louder than what my handful Filipino “idol” legends did during their time. What? caught my attention, and Mapa made me an A’Tin. Perhaps, my momma heart was strung by Pablo’s genius writing and the mahalima’s out of this world talent, adorable personality and humility. So, yes. I’m a nanay, a tita.. a proud A’Tin! I even become a prouder A’Tin when there are garbage idiots show their hate and ignorance on socmed. SB19 may not be perfect, A’Tin as a fandom may not be toxic free, and not everyone can see what we see in SB19, but their music is a collection of masterpieces that will last for generations to come.

It feels like being part of one big family. Three months A’tin here and SB19 has been a part of my everyday life since then - and that is what’s important. Definitely I’m no longer a nene. I’m in my 50’s and a proud A’Tin. I’m also an architect, a project manager and was a mall manager. The last time I checked, I’m a real person, as real as can be, not a dummy. I followed foreign bands when I was younger but I never followed any Filipino group until I discovered SB19.
I wasn’t impressed at first, as a matter of fact, I was condescending and I was quick to badmouth them. This group of fine gentlemen who could be my children have changed my views of genre they successfully re-defined and brought Filipino music to the world louder than what my handful Filipino “idol” legends did during their time. What? caught my attention, and Mapa made me an A’Tin. Perhaps, my momma heart was strung by Pablo’s genius writing and the mahalima’s out of this world talent, adorable personality and humility. So, yes. I’m a nanay, a tita.. a proud A’Tin! I even become a prouder A’Tin when there are garbage idiots show their hate and ignorance on socmed. SB19 may not be perfect, A’Tin as a fandom may not be toxic free, and not everyone can see what we see in SB19, but their music is a collection of masterpieces that will last for generations to come.
