Haven’t tried the fenix yet but the FBW handles beautifully, this is coming from someone who actually flies the real thing, how well it handles on approach and landing surprises me every time how close it is to the real thing.
Not sure I agree.....On final approach, on FBW you can cut the throttles to idle at say 350ft, and the speed doesn't bleed off quickly enough, and yet still make a smooth touchdown. Try doing that in real life your PAX are in for a VERY hard thump and likely gear damage. The Fenix flight model this perfectly..... cut the power too early and your alpha needs to be consequently higher to reduce that ROD, and you're in a for a big thump. Also the FBW engines spool up far too quickly. Fenix, it takes a good 8 seconds to get to take off power from idle, just like in the real thing. As someone who flies the real thing, do you disagree?
I'm very close to someone who is an A320 Captain for an airline here in the UK, and he's tested the flight model with me, and verified to me the engine model is not accurate....on landing, if Im at VLS, and can cut power to idle at 350ft above the runway and still make a smooth touchdown, then the model is not correct. I'm curious to hear @ahmed hassanin thoughts on this aspect.
Two different aircraft, and two fantastic aircraft to have in your inventory. if you love the a320, you should have both, but if you dont really fly it, then fbw should be enough
I just clicked on the video and let the video play while reading the comments. In the back on my mind I thought “I don’t recognize this voice from all the over major flight sim RUclipsrs, I guess I found another high quality RUclipsr lmao” then I saw you were responding to every comment and thought “wait, that’s not normal” and to my surprise, you’re under 1k! I don’t mean for that to be an insult, just based on the quality of the video, I assumed you would have had more! Keep it up! I will definitely be binge watching you
It’s great to see some options for A320 flights in this sim. It’s also interesting that the Fenix is STILL getting a run for its money from the FlyByWire team! It’s a testament to the amount of work put in by them. I will have to think it over next time I have some income to spend, but I’m also looking to the horizon for other future airplanes for MSFS as well.
I love FBW. I've never flown the Fenix, but having the FBW free and as great as it is, you get more than the FBW. I love that with the same installer, their team has created an alternative AI vehicle/aircraft injector that is much less performance draining on your system. Visually, they look the same, but the AI of movement is even better, and you'll increase your FPS using it. Not only that, but FBW is also making (the first) and very realistic A380, which will also be free. When there is a fantastic free version of a plane, you really need a lot of great reasons to pay money for the same plane you already have. I just didn't see anything in the Fenix that justified it over the free Flybywire.
I feel this FBW is sufficient for me as this is my 3rd year in the sim. The one thing that I love the most about MSFS is the detail. So now being spoiled with amazing graphics, I would itch to get the Fenix just because it has a detailed cabin. Now truth be told, I am sure I am not going to spend any time in that cabin, but the expectations are higher since we now have an amazing platform to compliment immersion. It appears the direction everyone is a fan of regardless of experience is hands on, feeling true to life and having more things to touch and look at.
I would recomend both. i mean if you want the fenix you pay. if you want both you pay the same amount. beginners can use the FBW as a starting point but for more advanced guys, after a few months with the FBW after you have the basics down, switch to the Fenix
Im very new to MSFS….but the Fenix a320 was a huge draw for me and was my very first purchase. Love it. Been working on my familiarity and knowledge of the plane so that I can soon jump into VatSim. Just flew from KDFW to KLAX today. Using SimBrief and NaviGraph….also really great to have in the sim.
Let me tell you, this Fenix A320 is fantastic. I have had countless aircraft addons over the years and have been flight simming for years, let me tell you this Fenix A320 flight model made me literally smile and laugh out loud, it is amazing! No other aircraft has done that to me. Get it, you will be amazed.
Interesting comparison. I really like both but have been flying the Fenix more recently. Both are a bit buggy, but Fenix just feels a bit more polished. Guess a lot is down to personal preference.
I have both, and I love both, two different variants of the A320 but I gravitate more towards the Fenix for the same reasons mentioned. The biggest CON for me for Fenix, at least right now (and for those who are into DIY cockpits), is the difficulty if not impossibility in getting FCU/AP (and other) numeric sim variables for display without using some hacks. This is in part due to their licensing with ProSim, prohibiting them from using it for home cockpit systems. I am slowly making panels, switches, displays and this is the challenge for me.
The fenix is definitely great value for money in the flight sim world, however it still costs 60 dollars which some people would rather spend on a new full price game. Thats still too much for a lot of gamers these days, especially when the FWB does the job very well for free.
@@thenateo1610 That's true. Although if you are going for the Fenix aircraft you probably want to dedicate some time to flying and detailed set ups and that content will eventually pay off.
@@thenateo1610 Yes, or on another plane. The FBW is good enough for a lot of people. I'd rather spend the 60 bucks in the BAe 146 rather than the Fenix precisely for that unless I'm maining the 320 or want the ceo version.
I love the FBW for how hard they've worked on a freeware aircraft, but it's still a mod on a fairly poor base aircraft. The Fenix is an absolute masterpiece in every way.
@@leloginquitu I'd love to see a new 3D model for the very commendable FBW A320. In my opinion the Asobo thingie is really just a placeholder while we don't have a real model.
Not a real pilot here so can't say much about the flight model but these are both really good aircraft. Flybywire is FREE so that alone makes it amazing. However my personal opinion is that the flybywire has better frames, start up sounds are better, and of course tool bar push back works like a charm. Everything else is better with the Fenix.
I don't own the Fenix but I just downloaded the FBW A320 and flew a 2.5 hour flight in South America and I have to say I was extremely impressed with the whole package. I couldn't agree more on the EFB with the FBW. The integration, especially with Navigraph and Vatsim are a milestone above other EFB's. I was also very happy with the sounds and the detail level of the cockpit. In fact, for me, the only thing the FBW is missing are the TOC & TOD functions. Once those are implemented, the FWB will do just about any A320 enthusiast like me just fine. I'm not big on needing failures. I'm not an IRL Airbus pilot so I just want a plane that can get me from point A to point B without any fighting or frustration and I had zero of that on my very first flight with the FBW. Frames were great as well It's a win! Thanks for sharing your comparison video. It's a great help as well.
Great video man. Keep this quality up and you will start seeing subscriber numbers skyrocket. I just subscribed, and like another commenter was surprised to see only 400 subs considering the 100k+ quality of the video.
This is the first time I've seen any of your videos. I usually watch Overkills Simulation, due to his American voice and great content. His videos taught me how to fly the FBW A320 among other things too which are MSFS related. You have a a great American voice for this type of content. I am American and find it hard at times to listen to the British Videos, which their are so many. Nothing personal to the Brits. Just not my "cup of tea" ( pun intended ) I did subscribe to your channel. Please keep the video's coming. Great Job !!
yeah the reason the Fenix is harder to land because it has more realism to it, being i have flown a real AB320 and i can tell you the MSFS and the Flybwire versions of this aircraft is no even close to the real thing when it comes to landing. there is a ton of drifting in the real thing when landing this is just how it is, these people landing the AB320 in MSFS think hey i can land a AB320, but if you put them in the seat of the real thing and give them a chance to land that, they are going to be saying like WTF is wrong with this plane LOL the fact is there is nothing wrong with it, it's just no a simulator, it's the real thing, and so if you did give them the chance to land the real thing i would say 80% it would not be a good landing at all, and about 60% chance they would either crash or seriously damage it. and probably a 90% chance as they are on final they would say take control i can't do this. And than later probably ask why did this plane do that? LOL So i would say if you want to get as close to realism as you can get buy the fenix and learn to fly it.. Piloting is a lot of work, it's not as glamourous as most thing, Commercial Pilots have a hard job, they got tons of things going on and also have to deal with problems with the passengers and other things NOT JUST FLYING the PLANE.. #1 not many realize that yes you have a flight plan, 70% of the time maybe 80% of the time your flight plan is altered by ATC while in flight, many times ATC or Centers will contact you and redirect you to different waypoints than you had programed, there you have to go to the FMC and input these new routs in, and also ALT chances as well. This is constantly happening all the time it's not a sit back and let the FMC do all the work, NO NO NO, that is not the real world ATC is always changing thigs all the time. Even before departure, when you contact clearance, they will tell you to stand by for a change in your flight plan and send that to you and than you got to make the changes.. This can cause other things such as how much fuel your going to use, weight and balance changes, tons of stuff your always busy, they have been times a flight attendant has come to me asking me about something in the back where i'm trying to make changes that Clearance has send me and i'm want to say like "What? can't you handle this i'm busy go away lol.. it does get stressful believe me.. Than when you get changes in the air, you have more work to do you have to make new calculations and all kinds of other stuff not fun at all. Hey, being a commercial airline Pilot is a JOB!! yes it's actually a JOB this is why they pay you all this money, this is not like your going on a pleasure cruise with your Cessna 172 sight seeing lol So all that being said, this is the reality of it just ask a real airline pilot, they will tell you the same thing i don't care who they worked for it's a hard job, i worked for DELTA, and which made it worst because that company is very demanding, they pay you more money but wow they got tons of crap you have to do even after the flight, yes you actually have reports you have to file all the time.. Constantly, report after report after report, after your done your 3 hour flight you got to file your reports which take around an hour to fill out and file.. than you got 2 hour brake, really only 1 hour because than you take a dinner brake or lunch what ever it is than you got to get ready for your next flight 1 hour after that, depending what your routine is, i was doing Short halls and shuttles all day long, Boston to NY, than maybe NY to SC, than from SC back to Boston and than more reports and than that is your day and you come back and do it again, maybe this time boston to NJ, than NJ to GA, than maybe GA to Boston and than Boston back to NH than back to Boston again lmao.. it wasn't always like this tho at first you don't have seniority and you do not get to pick and choose your routine, you are doing long halls at first the seasoned pilots get to pick and choose and DO NOT Want to be doing Long halls , they want to go home to their wife and kids or grandkids every day.. so yeah at least for DELTA that is how it works, when you first start your bottom of the totem pole and you do not get to pick and choose anything, so if you got a relationship or marriage, good luck to you i know many starting pilots who ended up in divorce because of the job, because they where home maybe 1 or 2 days out of the week and back out again remember one guy telling me when he called his wife saying he will be home today, she replied, i hope your kids recognize you, being sarcastic, yikes, not the life of a married person when you first start out. if you want to be a commercial pilot, do it when your young before your married other wise 50/50 chance you will lose your marriage..
I love both personelly , after flying the Fenix for the last 4 days i was in the FBW tonight and i really missed it. I prefer some aspects of the FBW , Personelly I think the FENIX skin textures are a bit too dull and not life like , I prefer the cockpit lighting/ screens in the FBW I also find the sounds excellent , but for a more in depth systems experience and flight model the fenix has it. I think we have room for both, really looking forward to watching the growth of the FBW.
@@cptgavinbotwinick3497 the fbw 100% has better screen displays and cockpit lighting. Better wing flex and start engin sounds. FBW has the cabin announcments, boarding etc all adds to the immersion. Fenix is still amazing, I love it, no argument but the Fenix is missing small things like no chime sounds on the calls even with the door open. Small things but it matters.
The simbrief integration in the fenix is made to match the uplink system in the real thing, so that’s why it doesn’t do as much as FBW. also, the flybywire system disables close to the ground irl, and that’s modelled in the fenix, so that leads to instability after takeoff etc
The real A320 incorporates a landing flare system to aid pilots in feeling the landing properly. At 50ft, it memorizes the attitude and then trims the plane down at the time a flare should be initialized, while directing the flare, in order to help pilots land properly, because otherwise the fbw system (or "fly-through-computer" system as Airbus calls it) makes landing feel wonky. But it also takes some getting used to. Cheers, IRL A319/320/321(neo) pilot
I personally have had much better landing with the Fenix, this may be because I have only had about 3 successful simulator flights before I got it and I had just improved. I haven't flown the FBW in a few days since I got the Fenix but the Fenix for me handles a lot better and more fun. Also surprised you only have ~200 subscribers you have such great content. Wish you the best on your road to 1k subs!
Well... I'm totally fine with the FBW. And because it is that good I really don't want to spend so much money on another A320.. (yes yes I know there are differences). Maybe if the fenix is some cheaper one day, I'd give it a go.
The deference between the landings are from the different types of flying the planes have. The CEOs take a little more time to know that it’s landing than the NEOs which is a technology thing not a sim thing
Given the current limitations of the flight model in MFS, I'm not sure how much of a factor the engines really have, but I believe you IRL how that works. Thanks for watching!
@@hochmaniac Again, the model they made should be much stiffer and less fluid as compared to the Neo if it was realistic. Remember that the A320s were designed in the 70s and 80s and the Neos the 2010s.
@@NGAvgeek I'll go one step further. I find it much too easy to have a greaser of a landing in either plane, which I believe is a MSFS limitation in their aerodynamics (or lack thereof)
@@hochmaniac I totally agree. Microsoft really has it's drawbacks and physics is the one that's most obvious. There isn't even an effect of windshield wipers in the game. Devs just have to do the best they can with what the sim gives them and for the foreseeable future, physics looks to be lacking.
It’s worth pointing out that the FBW version is an A320neo as opposed to the fenix one which is an A320ceo so I guess there are some differences because of that.
As an actual typed a320 pilot for one of the worlds largest airlines the fenix behaves closer to the real airplane. Systems and the use of the FSM/MCDU the fenix reflect the real airplane almost identically. As someone who uses the simulator as a trainer to practice procedures the fenix does a much better job.
FlyByWire works perfect eg with the Skalarki FCU and other Hardware Interfaces, Honeycomb Bravo AP Panel etc., Fenix did not support any interfacing due to Prosim License restrictions. This is a big disadvantage of the Fenix.
The flybywire system switches to a different mode while on the flare phase (indicated on the FMA). The FBW doesn't model that correctly just yet, thats why you pull so hard on the Fenix.
Thanks very much ! Im happy to pay $60 if I can actually start the engines, and load the MSFS flight plan to MCDU ... does it do that ? FBW A32nx, is really frustrating since it has sporadic issues which makes it impossible to commit to.
Comparing Payware and Freeware......... lol. Difference is 60€ first and it is the most important thing for users IMO. Technicaly FBW is the NEO which means different airplane too. Hope Fenix will fix thoses performances issues.
@@hochmaniac Yeah I know, it is just everybody can test FBW so It was more logic to analyze Fenix only than "comparing" it to FBW. I mean, more interesting to compare payware to payware.
I have been simming for 7 years now and I learned to fly airliners by watching RUclips videos and copying what I saw on these videos. It is a flight sim so you dont have to pick up books and study to learn an aircraft (unless you want to). RUclips videos should be enough to give you basic knowledge and fly you from A to B.
I started flight sims maybe 2 months ago and started with the FBW A32N... I feel like I'm using the systems horribly incorrectly and a real pilot would probably scream if they saw how I fly, but I've managed to safely land every flight I've started, so... it's working, I suppose LOL
The FBW is free and it's practically perfect...everyone should have it. The Fenix is amazing in many areas, but it is a different aircraft. Personally, the FBW is audio and handling is much more enjoyable. BUT handling is not so simple....both actually handle appropriately for their versions! (eg: NEO rotation law....how the aircraft behave differently during and after takeoff. On the CEO you have to keep the stick input through the climb much longer than the NEO. Same as landing, where the flares are distinctly different). Yes, the Fenix is worth $60 for those who are interested in going in-depth, or experiencing differences first hand.
@@kpd1632 it’s just not though. the fenix is very deeply simulated. the FBW may have almost all day to day operations modeled, but it’s simulation is more surface level than the fenix.
does the fenix also conflict with literally every mod? I feel like the FBW is crazy hard to get working stable, if u fly a short or medium haul at some point it will brake apart and crash or become unresponsive
Needs a lot of work in the flying department as of yet. VNAV is way too aggressive and gets too slow too fast. Flare logic is wicked heavy on the nose pull.
Hi.. Thanks for the great review. A question; Does Fenix has problems such as MCDU like the FBW having? Talking about problems that can end up with re-installation of MSFS and Aircraft..
I love them both and have them both. If I have to choose I prefer the Fenix. It is a little more advanced. I love the fact that I can import the EFB on my Ipad, so I can control it there. I am not sure if the FBW has that too.
Thanks for this. Was on the fence, but now think I'll spend my cash on the PMDG 700 and maybe the 310. FBW can scratch my Airbus itch, which isn't very itchy anyway.
Great video. You deserve much more subs! I think those who are new and don't really fly VERY realistically like with every TEENY WEENY detail, the FBW will suffice. otherwise, the Fenix is the way to go. Thank FBW even if you don't use it, because it's because of its competency that the Fenix was priced so low so as to get more buyers.
I just want the fenix a320 because I want to recreate my flight with the normal a320 and not with the a320 neo... and also because for a reason my autopilot in the flybywire dosent work
Both great aircraft and love them both. I couldn't really choose between them. Obviously the FBW is free but would happily pay for it, but not as much as the Fenix. Some font like the sound of the Fenix but I love that whine when you open the taps.
Personally i think that the fbw handles quite trash move the sidestick a tiny bit and it over reacts, the fenix on the otherhand feels alot heavier and realistic.
The "only" 2x simrate increase for me was an absolute dealbreaker. Albeit I discovered that AFTER my purchase. Otherwise, the fenix is really stunning. ONE MAJOR issue I have however is the lack of sound fx when touching down. I tend to do very soft landings, and I get no audible indication that I have touched down with the plane. Now, I can work around this with some mods that monitor my landing rate in fpm, but maybe that's just me. The FBW has far better sfx in my opinion. I'll fly the FBW more often until fenix has sorted those problems out, but I'm happy to have both in my hangar.
The FBW is supposed to be able to be better at handling that the Fenix for design reasons that are there in real life. The Sharklets help create more lift when landing due to the ground effect. The wing fence doesn't do much to stabilize the aircraft or create a bit more lift when closer to the ground. @Hochmania
i would say the Fenix is better though. Maybe its just me but I like how the Ceos look and not the Neos. mainly because of the engine look and wing fence.
I've been having this issue with the FBW with fuel. Every time I start a flight, the fuel tank sticks on either 7%, 18% or 21%. Haven't found a fix for it yet😒
Personally it's sort of a silly question - "Which one should you get ?" - They're both excellent, like really superb aircraft, but one happens to be complely free so obviously getting the free one makes the most sense, at least as a start - I have both and both are well worth having in your hangar. Which one would you get would make more sense if you were paying significant amounts of money for both and you didn't want to waste your money on a more mediocre aircraft. Wouldn't it have been better to have a title "FBW and Fenix A320s compared"... Secoondly they're different aircraft, so not strictly comparable. One is a more modern long range A320 neo with very efficient engines (FlyByWire), the other is a slightly dated original model A320-200 (the Fenix). Finally, the A32NX is not shareware - it"s entirely open source and has no restrictions to its use. It might be wise to look up the definition of shareware.
Hello, greetings, good afternoon. Could you send a link to download Flinght Simulator and make it compatible with The Airbus from FEnix SImulation...? A cordial greeting .
I’d prefer the fenix because I’m not a fan of the a320neo as an aircraft irl. I prefer the look of the good old cf6s with the class airbus wingtip fence. The engine roar on the ceo is also far superior than the neo
I've heard they are well aware of the issue and are working on improving the performance. One idea is to go through the fenix app and try different rendering options Thanks for watching!
I really enjoy the FBW and had to try the Fenix. Problem is my 2 year old then high end system then leaves the Fenix pretty much not flyable using decent visual settings. Hoping for some performance improvements for the Fenix.
In the Fenix app there are some settings you can tweak to improve performance. One well known is to reduce the outside airliner texture size from 8k to 4k which on a 1440p display should look the same from the outside, unless you zoom in a lot.
The issue with the Fenix, in my opinion, is that you have to pay it in pounds. Since its market is global I would have expected the Fenix to be sold in other currencies as well like Euros , US dollars and others. Are Fenix people radical Brexiters UK-focused ?😊
I totally agree about landing the 2 different versions. I find the callouts with the Fenix don't seem too accurate when you're about to land, also getting the flare right is very tricky. I just don't have these problems with the FBW. The Fenix definitely wins with the camera settings to get cabin views, having to go to showcase with the FBW just sucks. The biggest thing for me with the FBW is having the MCDU on a tablet, it just makes life so much easier. When I'm using the Fenix I keep looking at my tablet forgetting I can't access the MCDU on it.
What i really like about fenix is how it handles, it feels more similar to toliss and fslabs, fbw feels like a paper plane, I can not feel the weig h of a320 on a fbw, but fenix does the job and feels heavy, and I believe that it is a320, but fbw does not. I had a lot of landings on toliss and fslabs, so it is easy to land for me
just a tip, you can get hotkey camera views with the fbw by following this tutorial ruclips.net/video/iJvsHt3nwWU/видео.html (no showcase). it is a bit of a workaround, but it's definitely worth the 10 minutes it takes.
I’m enjoying the ultra high spec of the Fenix and I agree the MCDU features are amazing. There’s a real feeling this is the real deal. BUT, although it’s early days, I am noticing a real sluggishness on my system when I operate the FENIX - even my mouse feels slow and there’s the experience of a kind of loss of ‘touch’ generally and this is starting to bug me a bit. Against that I have to say the experience of being in the cockpit is great. As someone else says, at £50 quid, it’s good value, so why not have both? But, you know, if my budget was really tight, I’d be tempted to say stick with the FBW - you’d be missing a bit, but not that much.
Have you tried changing some of the rendering options in fenix app? Might help a bit. Others reported this helped for them: Turning off hardware accelerated gpu scheduling, setting ground aircraft density to 0 and changing liveries to 4k. More info: kb.fenixsim.com/fps-performance-improvement Thanks for watching
Honestly , I would appreciate this plane in version A321 or A319 , A320 is already made by FBW and is getting better and better . I dont need failures or detailed cabin (FBW contains already parts of cabin at the entrances) , sounds for FBW are already provided by LEAP, so only one thing which is pending for me is MCDU but 49 pounds.... :/ is improvement really so big in compare with FBW?
@@hochmaniac Do you know if the MCDU of the Fenix is worth the money compared to the FlyByWire a320? You stated that the FlyByWire auto-completes some of the information for you when you are setting the it up. But does the MCDU restrict you in any way that you would want to get the Fenix over the FBW because of that?
Not to sound like an idiot or extreme noob (am probably both lol), but you kept saying NEO, but showed the iFly pad for the NX. The NEO doesn't have a functioning pad on the stable version that I know of. I fly the NX development version and am having difficulty configuring the throttles to match up with the sim. I'm using the Airbus 320 addons from Honeycomb on the Bravo TQ. Any assistance to show me what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Great vid as well. Very informative. You got a new sub.
Hello, can someone help me please... Im having a bug (FBW) with the MCDU when I go to F-PLN there is anything showing ... Does anyone have any idea please? thanks
FBW has a long way to go to be on Fenix level in system depth and flight model, although the sounds are better in the FBW. Fenix is a pretty hardcore Airbus A320 arguably the best in any sim.
@@hochmaniac It will take them a couple of years for sure if ever. Fenix is based off Prosim professional software for Airbus developed years ago mainly for cockpit builders. Fenix managed to build a model for MSFS and managed to get the systems running on display in MSFS while the systems runs outside of MSFS i.e. prosim. Like I said hardcore and as far as I know no other developer has done this before on a desktop sim.
The way I see it is your paying £50 to get worse performance and some new systems that you'll use 1% of the time, when the fbw has everything you need for an in depth and 99% realistic flight. Secondary flight plans, failures, full cabin, double mcdu. Sure they're all cute, but once you've played with them a few times the novelty will wear off and you'll do your normal a-b flights again. I'll stick with FBW.
It may have 2 MCDU’s but they still show the same information no matter which one you interact with which really annoys me as I want FPLAN on one and the other to be switched to what I want it to. Needs updating soon
@@tomstravels520 in my opinion, and it is just my opinion, it takes you just as little time to switch between mcdu pages as it does to pan your screen over to the second one, plus multiple MCDU's reduce performance. In real life a pilot only has one MCDU each, there's no need for us to have two in the sim. I often turn the second one off.
@@sammiles2188 that’s not the point though. The point is it’s supposed to be realistic. Not just made for 1 person. If you want to turn off the other that’s fine but they are still supposed to be independent screens
Haven’t tried the fenix yet but the FBW handles beautifully, this is coming from someone who actually flies the real thing, how well it handles on approach and landing surprises me every time how close it is to the real thing.
That's a huge compliment right there.
Thanks for watching!
@@ArnoldAaron Are you a real A320 pilot, like Ahmed says he is? If not I would submit he is more qualified to say if it is realistic.
Keep it up! I will definitely be binge watching you
Thank you so much!
Couldn't agree more with your comment.
Thanks for watching!
I put the phoenix in the closet because it was impossible to play too many lags
Great analysis. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Why switch? I fly both!
Thanks for sharing and watching!
Can i get it on xbox marketplace?
I’ll cut to the point.
Is it worth it? 1000% yes. You are paying half the price of the FS Labs and it’s even more advanced than it’s competitor.
Thanks for watching!
The fenix is definitely great value for money in the flight sim world, however it still costs 60 dollars which some people would rather spend on a new full price game. Thats still too much for a lot of gamers these days, especially when the FWB does the job very well for free.
@@thenateo1610 💀
I think the flight model is truly what stands out the most to me for the Fenix.
Thanks for watching!
3D model is pretty much the only thing in common with the default aircraft. Once it's replaced it'll be a 100% new plane
A good analysis! I personally prefer the FBW sound set. Will get my hands on the Fenix asap!
Me too!
same, i like fbw sounds more than fenix

Same here
yeah the reason the Fenix is harder to land because it has more realism to it, being i have flown a real AB320 and i can tell you the MSFS and the Flybwire versions of this aircraft is no even close to the real thing when it comes to landing.
there is a ton of drifting in the real thing when landing this is just how it is, these people landing the AB320 in MSFS think hey i can land a AB320, but if you put them in the seat of the real thing and give them a chance to land that, they are going to be saying like WTF is wrong with this plane LOL
the fact is there is nothing wrong with it, it's just no a simulator, it's the real thing, and so if you did give them the chance to land the real thing i would say 80% it would not be a good landing at all, and about 60% chance they would either crash or seriously damage it.
and probably a 90% chance as they are on final they would say take control i can't do this.
And than later probably ask why did this plane do that? LOL
So i would say if you want to get as close to realism as you can get buy the fenix and learn to fly it..
Hey, being a commercial airline Pilot is a JOB!! yes it's actually a JOB this is why they pay you all this money, this is not like your going on a pleasure cruise with your Cessna 172 sight seeing lol
So all that being said, this is the reality of it just ask a real airline pilot, they will tell you the same thing i don't care who they worked for it's a hard job, i worked for DELTA, and which made it worst because that company is very demanding, they pay you more money but wow they got tons of crap you have to do even after the flight, yes you actually have reports you have to file all the time..
Well said!

How is the fbw cockpit better the cockpit isn’t even shaped right
@@cptgavinbotwinick3497 the fbw 100% has better screen displays and cockpit lighting. Better wing flex and start engin sounds. FBW has the cabin announcments, boarding etc all adds to the immersion. Fenix is still amazing, I love it, no argument but the Fenix is missing small things like no chime sounds on the calls even with the door open. Small things but it matters.
@@DeepFutureSim I respect your opinion but the fenix cockpit is years ahead of fbw, it’s prolly the best a320 cockpit in any sim
The simbrief integration in the fenix is made to match the uplink system in the real thing, so that’s why it doesn’t do as much as FBW. also, the flybywire system disables close to the ground irl, and that’s modelled in the fenix, so that leads to instability after takeoff etc
Thanks for explaining that!
Cheers,
IRL A319/320/321(neo) pilot
5:37 are you landing at Orlando International?
I personally have had much better landing with the Fenix, this may be because I have only had about 3 successful simulator flights before I got it and I had just improved. I haven't flown the FBW in a few days since I got the Fenix but the Fenix for me handles a lot better and more fun. Also surprised you only have ~200 subscribers you have such great content. Wish you the best on your road to 1k subs!
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words and your support
@@NGAvgeek Whether the windshield wipers are working or not have no bearing or relation at all on the flight physics of MSFS.
Fbw says they’re eventually gonna have a full cabin. I can’t wait for that
It’s worth pointing out that the FBW version is an A320neo as opposed to the fenix one which is an A320ceo so I guess there are some differences because of that.
Didn't realize this, thanks
The flybywire system switches to a different mode while on the flare phase (indicated on the FMA).
The FBW doesn't model that correctly just yet, thats why you pull so hard on the Fenix.
I dont like the FBW one. Cant stand out the cockpit and the fact that i was able to do a wheeli at 50 knots.
0:07 and 0:34 you changed from a screw to 2 dots in the cockpit, how?
Thanks very much ! Im happy to pay $60 if I can actually start the engines, and load the MSFS flight plan to MCDU ... does it do that ?
FBW A32nx, is really frustrating since it has sporadic issues which makes it impossible to commit to.
Comparing Payware and Freeware......... lol. Difference is 60€ first and it is the most important thing for users IMO.
Technicaly FBW is the NEO which means different airplane too. Hope Fenix will fix thoses performances issues.
The point of this video is to discuss if it's worth it to pay $60 or not. Thanks for watching!
@@hochmaniac Yeah I know, it is just everybody can test FBW so It was more logic to analyze Fenix only than "comparing" it to FBW. I mean, more interesting to compare payware to payware.
@@MrBadam972 In this case, I think it's a fair comparison given that both have their advantages. I appreciate the feedback
I love flying VFR but I would like to go for a airliners but the learning curve is pretty steep. Nice video and great content.keep it up
Thanks for watching!
@@flo4401 I did same basically
Good analysis.
Thanks for watching
I love the FBW team, but it is nowhere near perfect. It’s free, sure, but it’s just not true. The fenix is light years ahead of FBW.
@@blindsight_music_ Not "light years" ahead. Fenix has its realism novelty, but FBW is 90% there.
The fenix is a ceo and the fbw is just a neo, and yes the ceo and neo are different types of a320 aircraft
Great video
What’s your opinion of Toliss Airbus?
Is it fair to say that FBW is like aerosoft in MFSX? And FENIX is more realistic?
Needs a lot of work in the flying department as of yet. VNAV is way too aggressive and gets too slow too fast. Flare logic is wicked heavy on the nose pull.
I'll use the "flare logic" as an excuse for my landings going forward. Thanks for watching!
@@hochmaniac all in all a very serviceable A320 with what I believe is a very bright future. Just needs some updating
What do you mean with aggressive?

Thanks for the Video
Thanks for this. Was on the fence, but now think I'll spend my cash on the PMDG 700 and maybe the 310. FBW can scratch my Airbus itch, which isn't very itchy anyway.

Great video. You deserve much more subs! I think those who are new and don't really fly VERY realistically like with every TEENY WEENY detail, the FBW will suffice. otherwise, the Fenix is the way to go.
Thank FBW even if you don't use it, because it's because of its competency that the Fenix was priced so low so as to get more buyers.
I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching!
Personally i think that the fbw handles quite trash move the sidestick a tiny bit and it over reacts, the fenix on the otherhand feels alot heavier and realistic.
you missed the biggest difference. JBU compatibility on launch :D
This is the critical tip this video needed
Please send links to these touchdown mods. Thanks
@@ArnoldAaron Look up "FSUIPC" and "Landing Rate Monitor".
Will fenix launch the a320 neo?
Rit now fenix only sells the a320 cfm rit?
The FBW is supposed to be able to be better at handling that the Fenix for design reasons that are there in real life. The Sharklets help create more lift when landing due to the ground effect. The wing fence doesn't do much to stabilize the aircraft or create a bit more lift when closer to the ground. @Hochmania
the fenix is also more realistic
i would say the Fenix is better though. Maybe its just me but I like how the Ceos look and not the Neos. mainly because of the engine look and wing fence.
Good stuff, thank you for sharing and watching!
I've been having this issue with the FBW with fuel. Every time I start a flight, the fuel tank sticks on either 7%, 18% or 21%. Haven't found a fix for it yet😒
You have to use the tablet to manage the fuel
I love the A320 NEO Engines, FBW

Hello, greetings, good afternoon.
Could you send a link to download Flinght Simulator and make it compatible with The Airbus from FEnix SImulation...?
A cordial greeting .
I’d prefer the fenix because I’m not a fan of the a320neo as an aircraft irl. I prefer the look of the good old cf6s with the class airbus wingtip fence. The engine roar on the ceo is also far superior than the neo
the fbw have not weather radar that fenix have. but maybe is not 50 bucks worth
The fenix needs it performance fixed first, I get 50fps in any other aircraft easy, with the fenix at lowest settings I can get max 22
I've heard they are well aware of the issue and are working on improving the performance.
One idea is to go through the fenix app and try different rendering options
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoy the FBW and had to try the Fenix. Problem is my 2 year old then high end system then leaves the Fenix pretty much not flyable using decent visual settings. Hoping for some performance improvements for the Fenix.
Nothing more frustrating than poor performance
In the Fenix app there are some settings you can tweak to improve performance. One well known is to reduce the outside airliner texture size from 8k to 4k which on a 1440p display should look the same from the outside, unless you zoom in a lot.
Good videos BTW. Like your style
I appreciate that!
Coming from another “real airline pilot”, Fenix hands down, by far. By far.
Using only 3 flaps for landing must be hard tho
I'm so glad to hear others had difficulty landing compared to FBW. I know I'm not a great pilot, but it seemed really different.
Thanks for watching!
What i really like about fenix is how it handles, it feels more similar to toliss and fslabs, fbw feels like a paper plane, I can not feel the weig h of a320 on a fbw, but fenix does the job and feels heavy, and I believe that it is a320, but fbw does not. I had a lot of landings on toliss and fslabs, so it is easy to land for me
That Is called Flare mode Law, and fenix simulated It.
Basically the auto-trim Will freezer below 100 ft RA
just a tip, you can get hotkey camera views with the fbw by following this tutorial ruclips.net/video/iJvsHt3nwWU/видео.html (no showcase). it is a bit of a workaround, but it's definitely worth the 10 minutes it takes.

Fenix said they are looking at an a319 down the line
More info: kb.fenixsim.com/fps-performance-improvement

But does the MCDU restrict you in any way that you would want to get the Fenix over the FBW because of that?
I use both. Of course, for now, I´m more familiar with FBW.
Makes sense to me. Thanks for watching!
What Abt LVFR ? Is it good ?
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Oh and BTW the Fenix has cockpit windows that can open
That's true, although I think I've only ever opened the windows in my sim accidentally.
Thanks for watching!
@@hochmaniac hahahahaha all good
AFAIK they probly have and IAE & winglets coming in future
Yes
Hello, can someone help me please... Im having a bug (FBW) with the MCDU when I go to F-PLN there is anything showing ... Does anyone have any idea please?
thanks
Are you inputting the flight plan via the world map page? How are you getting the flight plan in exactly that it isn't working?
@@hochmaniac I'm putting the flight plan via simbrief
@@juan960214 Check out my tutorial for how to get simbrief flight plan brought in: ruclips.net/video/9PxNxXrjElc/видео.html
@@hochmaniac sorry .. to clarify I'm talking about fly by ware :D
I think jordan belfort just sold me on the Fenix purchase. :'D
Good concise video !
Haha just call me the "Wolf of Flight Sim"
Thanks for watching
Honestly the Fenix A320 Its so nice and I hate the Neo, the Fenix A320 has working circuit breakers too, and many airliners have these planes.
fénix A320 will be payware
FBW A32NX is a 320 neo with leap engines, and is free
Thanks for watching!
Does The fenix a320 and A32nx work if you have Them both
Yes
Ok thanks
does anybody know how to get that tablet on the fbw?
Fbw vs fenix for fps is?
Both are good. One is CEO and other is NEO. FBW still in progress and its free
Thanks for watching!
FBW has a long way to go to be on Fenix level in system depth and flight model, although the sounds are better in the FBW. Fenix is a pretty hardcore Airbus A320 arguably the best in any sim.
@@fsx-legend4602 I generally agree. As I said in the video, I think FBW will eventually narrow that gap, but it will take them a bit longer
FBW and Fenix are diff universe 🌝one meed to pay; another one FOC🌚 FBW 🥰 im waiting for A380
And do i put The a320 fenix in The community folder and do i have to log in
Yes, Fenix goes in community folder. Installer should handle it
@@hochmaniac do I log ind
Or does it install by itself
320 VS 320? Well, not 720p !
Can i get it on xbox marketplace?
No
i have the FlyByPixel edition
Ah yes the ceo engines... i always tought that there called cfm but well can't know everything
How can compare a free plane??????
The comparison is whether or not it's worth paying more for Fenix to move up.
Thanks for watching!
I don't think you're off base, especially with the novelty factor.
Thanks for watching!
@@tomstravels520 Yeah, I guess it depends whats most important to you and we're all different.
If you are an Airbus superfan just get both !
