Mother Hawk & Young Hawk

This morning, the mother Hawk killed a squirrel. Then the young hawk tried to figure out how to tear open the squirrel. The noteworthy part of the story is the mother hawk's strength. It held down the squirrel and tore it open while the squirrel was still alive and resisting. I mention this because of what you can't see in the video: the squirrel was HUGE. Squirrels here (in central PA) don't get any bigger than this one did. The lesson: KEEP AWAY from the talons of raptors.
