Cat climbs a very big tree to catch a squirrel ! Epic Chase | Cat's Incredible Agility in Action

- Fearless ninja cat takes on the challenge of catching a swift squirrel! It all begins when a daring squirrel, full of confidence, approaches the cat and starts making chirping sounds, as if trying to provoke the feline into a chase. The cat, with its sharp instincts and lightning-fast reflexes, immediately springs into action, launching itself up a massive tree in pursuit of its prey. The squirrel, however, proves to be just as quick and agile, darting up the tree with ease. The squirrel came very near to the cat making chirping sounds, to provoke him.
Despite the cat's best efforts, the squirrel's speed and agility keep it just out of reach. The cat's determination is impressive as it climbs higher and higher, but the squirrel's experience in tree maneuvering allows it to stay one step ahead. Eventually, the cat realizes that this chase might be in vain, but not before showing off its amazing climbing abilities. In a smooth and effortless motion, the cat climbs back down the tree, displaying the grace and agility of a true ninja.
The cat climbed up and climbed down the tree very easily ! The way the cat effortlessly climbs up and down the tree, navigating the heights with confidence, is a testament to its remarkable abilities.

The cat is quite a skilled climber but the squirrel ability in the tree is godlike.
they're like magicians.
@@goognamgoognw6637 Ya, well in an open field or plot it's lights out for a squirrel, no trees or cover...advantage cat.
True but you gotta give the cat props for trying to hunt the squirrel in it’s own home squirrels were born to climb trees this cat is just insane

ikr the squirrel was teasing the cat 😂
When you're a great ninja but there is a greater ninja than you.
Cats never cease to amaze
The squirrel was laughing and thinking "you can't seriously think you can catch me on my domain"
Cat's climbing skills is Boss level lol
My little one used to climb up and down the trees like this. I miss my cute monkey cat 😥
cats have super climbing skills for a land animal.. so much control
wow that's so amazing
the rodent looks like a squirrel chipmunk hybrid
I had a carpet section on the wall just so my cats and kittens would learn how to climb down trees. They love climbing all around and they would resemble squirrels and monkeys 😂
Well done for teaching them cat mom/dad!!!
Its very difficult to get a shot of something like this, especially without A. Scaring away the animals, B. Quality dropping, and/or C. Setting up a camera. Bravo.
Cat's are amazing predators! And that's a brave squirrel/chipmunk coming too close! Maybe it had babies in the tree somewhere and was trying to draw away the cat's attention from them!
I always try to keep my phone out to possibly record a cat catching a squirrel. Theres a lot of squirrels where I work and I know theres always a cat or hawk lurking somewhere. Nice video
That's a great idea!
I keep a gun handy for hawks .
Smart cat. I am training mine to do that. He is pretty good at getting back down.
As long as you don't pester the fire department when it gets stuck.
@@monte68xI pay taxes for that if I ever have to
@@hikki537 I pay taxes also. Your pet is your own problem. The fire department is for FIRE. not your damn cat.
Lol, that squirrel knows what it's doing, living on the edge, playing with fire xD
Cats indeed are better climbers and pouncers than humans
This is the first time I see a cat climb down a tree with its feet first. Clever cat. I once had to climb a tree to rescue my cat because it didn't know how to get down.
+lemmysfibroma That is how they always climb down, feet first backwards, if they are high.
@Rusty Shackleford cats do have hands
I hope you should show this video to your cat 😂
STREEET CAT KNOW CLIMB // HOUSE CAT NOT KNOW CLIMB NO PRACTICE
You could see, near the end, when the cat suddenly looked down and thought to himself, "I think that I am getting a little too high here. It's time to get back on the ground." That is exactly what I would do as a child. You just climb up the tree, getting higher and higher and then, when you turn around and look at the ground, you suddenly realize how high you are and decide it's time to get back on the ground.
You got yourself a good climbin cat
My cat once caught a squirrel. Although I didn't see how he managed to catch it. I saw him staring at a squirrel under the tree and next thing he had a dead squirrel in his mouth. He was like a maniac for some time and din't let anyone go near him. Like he has done a lifetime achievement. This means squirrels can get in trouble too if they become too cocky and careless with cats.
Cat climbs down backwards, love it.
✋
looks like a cross between chipmunk and squirrel
"i becometh leopard. nothing will stopeth me from tearing to you to pieces, squirrel. oh shit, how did i get up here"
Either it was doing a warning display to guard it's babies and warn it off
or most probably it was displaying how agile and fantastic it is in its chosen environment by displaying to the cat that the tree is it's territory .
The cat is also testing how somethings are just not worth the chase
especially an egocentric chipmunk
That's not a squirrel but a chipmunk!
I think the squirrels strategy is to make cat climb high enough to fall to his death.
😳
That's not a squirrel - that's a chipmunk.
chipmunks are squirrels, look it up.
A cat outsmarted by a chipmunk. I love it. :-)
that's like saying a fish outswam a human in water...
Cats know how to climb back down trees when they haven't been 'bitched up' by living indoors too long.
It's amazing how upset people get of the idea of a cat just being (not even living) outside.
@anthony patterson i KNOW by having multiple cats for 20+ years that lived outside in a NATURAL rural setting. Your statement reveals more of yourself...much like the cats i mentioned. *tips hat* #fellowcatlover
@Nick P Does it still know how to climb trees and get down?
House cats have front facing paws unlike big cats the front facing paws make it harder to go down the tree
@@kweli05 I agree. Those people being upset usually comes from ignorance of cats true nature, instincts and genetics. Also from their personal dislike of cats which comes from ignorance usually also.
For all that effort, the Cat should have got his lunch :) Would have been nice to see.
It is interesting that the squirrel is teasing the cat
Plot twist: The cat and squirrel were working together to catch that big ape thing who was watching them. Just look at that stare at the end, clearly saying, "mission: accomplished!" :D
😀
Nice attempt, Cat, really good climbing skills, but you are outmatched by a master of tree climbing who can and does run circles around you while you wonder where he is. Great video.
..yer talkin' to a cat?!
Absolutely. Cats are people, too. Never heard anyone talk to their cat or dog or baby? Perhaps you have done it yourself.
squirrel psychology is fascinating, they're social and chase each other up, down and accross trees. They can easily evaluate other animal skills are tree climbing. This squirrel tried to get the cat climb as high as possible in the hope that it would fall. When faced to humans however squirrel seem to know that we have superior intellect and fear us despite knowing we can't climb trees. I have chased squirrel in the forest and as long as you find on which tree they are that is enough to make them umcomfortable and they will keep changing trees as if we will cut down the tree they are on.
You guys have no other job to do?? Btw how old are you folks to speak silly likw this?
If the cat was a leopard 🐆 the squirrel would've had a tragic ending
What a troll that chipmunk is.
i was impressed with the cat climbing down, awesome.. didnt need the fire dept. lol...
I thought cats were regular climbers
@@princejohnson3468 my cat usually jump down and dont climb down backward maybe he can just doesnt have to
My cats climb down trees they have never been stuck Up in a tree
Cats are superb predators, but any cat that thinks it can catch a squirrel in a tree, has some stuff to learn about nature.
Mike Collins Well said. Squirrels are masters at maneuvering through trees. That cat didn't stand a chance
Richie T. AT LEAST IT TRIED.
You underestimate their climbing ability. They have arboreal ancestors, and naturally prefer trees to the ground.

That looks like a Chipmunk to me. And it’s just tormenting, taunting, teasing, the cat because it knows the cat is clumsy and slow in comparison.
That is a Three-striped palm squirrel (Funambulus palmarum) 😊
That cat is an Alpine Ferral .... that what they do and thats how they survive ! I have 3 of them and see this every day ~ Precious !
wow that cat can climb so well, its like a squirrel itself! I thought he would need a fire engine!
Squirrel is teasing sooo much!
cat: no joy on the squirrel front today, time to back up the truck.....
I watch the video twice when did the cat CATCH the squirrel?
Cat's are so gracefull!
They are ruthless predators that decimate our wildlife..
unfortunately SKYLANDBAK is right. They decimate the songbirds.
@@goognamgoognw6637 if you want to blame anybody, blames humans.... they are the real ruthless predators..
@@r_v_t Oh for sure ! Pets proliferation is due to humans. So yes humans can be blamed first. But humans have not changed since recorded history, don't expect any improvement on that front. Instead to be pragmatic bringing awareness about cats killing songbirds can raise consciousness and something might be done about it. Also don't be a coward by blaming all humans at large, be more specific ! It's well known that a small minority of human are responsible for the most of what is evil in human society. The vast majority do care about animals but power in human society is distributed pyramidally. So name those those responsible : bankers and the federal reserve who refuses to admit that earthly ressources (including animals) are limited and is printing fiat money without backing it with real value. Don't be so superficial dig your subject and point finger with substantiated evidence. denounce the monopoly media, instead of vaguely saying everybody is bad.
Those wildlife sounds are beautiful.
That squirrel looks a lot like a chipmunk.
It is a chipmunk.
maybe its a squirrel dressed as a chipmunk.
Its a transsquirrel
Bill Klätsch I don't think they make those yet. :-) Unless you mean "interbreed" but I doubt it. The distress sound it made was definitely that of a chipmunk. Squirrels make a totally different distress sound and don't have stripes on their backs.
chipmunks aren't that big and don't have fluffy tails
At least this cut know how to get down from the tree. Usually they crying for hours bacause they climb too high
Dont over feed the cats and make them bulky. Cats will eventually figure out how to climb down given they are not overweight
a dog owner's comment.
Lol.
LIRON50 I think that’s mostly in movies
LIRON50 at least it knows when to give up. I was seriously hoping a hawk or something would swoop down and eat the squirrel because it was clearly tormenting the cat with “you can’t catch me chirps”.
that squirrel has mastered mother nature
Squirrels live in trees. Cats have to have the fire department called to help them down from a tree. So much for a - lol - 'Ninja cat'.
My cats are good climbers, so they don't need fire department help! 😀
Nice Cat'erman.... 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂
Smart cat didn’t get stuck in the tree.
I'm guessing that the squirrel was trying to lure the cat away........maybe away from babies, otherwise it would have run for cover. Just a guess.
wrong guess. They do this to humiliate other animals on purpose. Hard to believe but i've seen it enough times with dogs too. The squirrel learn this from quarreling with other squirrels.
@@goognamgoognw6637 What evolutionary purpose does "humiliating the cat" serve?
The Title made me think the Cat would actually catch a squirrel
Very cool for cat, you go down BACKWARDS to ground level so the claws still dig in the bark, preventing falls.
Squirrel: You're in my domain sucker.
"What'd I get myself into"!😹
I love cats!
I think the cat is a fad of heights. ..lol:)
squirrels like to tease and humiliate cats when they know they are too agile for them in trees
Hunt
Haha squirrel humiliated a cat lol
Its simply because the cat is so jealous of squirrel its got more skills ,talent more flexibility than a fuking cat , and yea also they have better personalities than cat. Squirrels can run faster than cat where a cat can be lost to find a squirrel. Like in the video the cat couldn't climb all the way up , and squirrel is all up in the tree and embarrassing the shyt out of the cat. Most of the Cats are hatred.
+Gulab jamun Master squirrel says hahacat says insulting
you guys crack me up LOL
chipmunk is a type of squirrel...
+Hunt Richardson they are 2 different species. squirrels are bigger than chipmunks.
my cats always do such things n then get stuck up there n then just get pissed... 😂
That's definitely a chipmunk.
One of these days, that fluffy tree-rat is going to neener the wrong kitty, and end up as dinner.
true that, squirrel is more agile but cat have a few deceptive tricks in his bags. Getting too cocky the squirrel eventually gets chess mated.
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting
@Michael F. Tommey This video was recorded in South India. It is an Indian palm squirrel AKA three-striped palm squirrel (Funambulus palmarum). If you googled any of these names, you can find more details. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting.
This undomesticated side of the cat gives it a special charm, many hate and some love. I'm in the second group. Brasil, 10/03/2019
Eventually he realized : "Nope, it was tempting, but I cant do it. I am not a damn leopard . I just go down and eat my whiskas instead. I am so sick and tired of canned food though... "
That squirrel is teasing the cat.
The same incident happened at my hard, cat climbed to the top of the tree where there was no place left to run for the squirrle so squirrle jumped down and ran away..lols
I hope he gets a squirrel, the cat earned one. Nice climbing and down was way cool.
I hope that someone shot the cat .

Cats will be cats. Now what if you were the cat lol. Just saying, anyway Merry Christmas. Thanks for watching.
Had a German shepherd that chased squirrels he tried for years than he got one in deep snow I think he smiled.
that squirrel is trolling that cat
She wasn't provoking the cat! She was saying, "stay the hell away from my babies!"
wrong and wrong, how many of you people are there that think you got it right and don't. Squirrel do this for teasing and humiliating other animals, seen it enough times to know.
I dare you to try .says the taunting squirrel lol
I think the squirrel/chipmunk has babies because it is so offensive to the cat and tries to distract it from them.
Cat can be aggressive on the tree. If it falls, the cat has a way of spreading itself out like it's flying. It knows how to break its fall.
Spider cat! lol Now we know why they get stuck in trees.
Damn, where are you? The fricken jungle?
Kitty wants to get the squirrel 😺
Good job buddy! Never seen a cat climb off a tree.

Hmm squirrel look suspiciously like chipmunk with lines on back.
In my area a dog was chasing a cat, the cat climbed up on the tree so quickly that he reached to the top and fell down from the top like in cartoon
Not sure where this was filmed, but I would call that critter a chipmunk; it's in the squirrel family. Squirrels have double-jointed rear ankles, so they can ascend and descend with comparative ease, compared to the cats clumsy descent. Note the squirrel family predator alarm call: 1) Face predator, 2) vocalaize, 3) flick tail.
It was recorded in Kerala, a state in South India. It is an Indian palm squirrel / three-striped palm squirrel (Funambulus palmarum).
Vertical is parallel for squirrels. Not even fair.
Lol:))
I like to pretend the cat is a dragon, the tree a castle and the squirrel a solider.

Happy! Tom slid down the tree safely without getting hurt .
He is an expert in climbing trees. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting.
He is an expert in climbing only. So many times I had to climb the trees once he got up chasing some squirrel or a lizard. Every time he looked foolish while getting down along with me. :)
He never knew how to get down. He used to jump down from greater heights too, had I not been there to help him down.
That looks like a chipmunk / squirrel mix
What cats don't know, unlike squirrels, they can get stuck up there. They don't have the ability to reverse their back paws
This cat is an expert in climbing up and climbing downs big trees. He is not fast as squirrel though!
👏👏👏 for the squirrel.
Ladies & gentlemen, let the nature begins.
Its not a squirrel, its a chipmunk. His name is Dale.
What kind of squirrel is that? It looks and sounds like a relative of chipmunks. And what kind of birds are we hearing in the background?
Squirrel in my mother tounge is called "tree cat".
Interesting. What language?
I wonder if squirrels know that those tail flicks are highly provocative to cats.
Cat reads that as "Effue, I'm gonna kick your ass"
Squirrels are pretty aggressive so smack talking a cat wouldnt be a surprise
My cats climbed the tree when they were kittens. Got scared, had to bring em down, and they never tried again, haha
How can a cat be both cute and cruel at the same time! He often plays his prey to death
I know! They look so cute but I hate it when they kill animals, and then never eat the animal. This is why I like dogs better.
Because "cute" is a superficial value judgement that only has any relevance for humans. As far as the things below them in the food chain are concerned they're just another unholy terror whose _raison d'être_ is to kill and eat anything smaller than themselves they find in the bushes.
I remember I saw my cat ate a mouse once. He looked totally wild. I think cats' "cute" appearance is to make their prey think that there's no danger from them. When my cat catched a bird, he stayed still like a statue and then leapt up to the air for the bird.
Thuy Dung Failing to recognise an important natural enemy is a trait that natural selection culls *very* quickly from any gene pool...
I wonder where this place is. It almost sounds like it's in a zoo type sanctuary.
I was surprised that the cat was able to climb down, because mostly they try to go forward and this was really to high for that.
+hadevosje
me too
+Catu Chung Lol, and for me two o's in "too" too, instead of "to high".
There are some cats that just get it. The rest are stupid. Lol
Maybe your cat was overweight that it got stuck. Outdoor cats like the ones in the video can do it easily
