  • Hello all. Just a video from a flight I recently made on the VATSIM network, nothing too long or complicated. Taking the Cessna 152 South out of Stansted Airport, down towards Chelmsford, then over the Hanningfield Reservoir to Southend Airport. Hope you enjoy.

Had my first flying lesson in a 152 today at southend airport, took off to the west flying over basildon then turned right aiming towards Hanningfield Reservoir, up to Chelmsford and towards Colchester, turning around and back into Southend, great experience, learnt loads and I'm now hooked and want to do my PPL

Nice video, couple of things tho, I wouldn’t normally use flap for take off from such a long runway as stansted, having elected to do so, it’s normal procedure to retract flaps at 300 aal. Climbing to 1500 feet with flap is not really necessary and wastes fuel.
On approach, carb heat should remain on with low throttle setting, return carb heat to off at 300 feet in case of, as you rightly say, a go around is performed. Not necessary to land a 152 with full flap on such a long runway, 20 degrees would be good. Your RT work was excellent. FREDA checks good, but downwind checks not quite as they should be, and a little late. Remember BUMPFICH. Brakes, undercarriage, mixture, pitch, fuel, instruments, carb heat, hatches and harnesses. Cheers

I have learned so much from this flight. Are you a pilot in real live?
Please make more Flight Simulator video's with detailed instructions!
