There's no such thing as a "Correct sens", Its gonna feel weird and its gonna feel wrong find something that you're SOMEWHAT comfortable with and get used to it, changing even every 3 months is way too much, I realised this very late but its true.
i did it at source, got 2.5 in 400 dpi, used it on every source game for 6 years, i converted it for ow, paladins, cod, quake, doom and a whole lot more, dont be lazy, do it and you'll be grateful
7 years later and this is still the best video for sensitivity Because it's all about what you feel comfortable not like other videos with all that math and trying to calculate your sens or copying others
another trick is picking a target on the edge of your screen/fov and then doing a quick mouse movement to get your crosshair on the intended target. if you overshoot it, your sens is too high (relative to your expectation). if you come up short, your sens is too low. combined with the trick shown in this video, you will find your perfect individual sensitivity pretty quickly. also, keep in mind that very low sensitivity compromises your ability to do reflexive 90-180 flicks at any given moment. that's a balance you need to find out by trial and error.
i remember back in 1.6 there was a guy that did GUI's and custom configs for FPS and blah blah, he had everything you needed on his site like mouse fix and 1.6 model fix, yadda yadda, but what he showed in his aiming tutorial was basically this same concept but instead of shooting and using the bullet hole as the focal point, you would put your crosshair on the edges of certain things like a box or whatever and try your best to run around while keeping the xhair on said item. you would even run behind walls while keeping focus on the corner. good shit ill never forget. also another key of the perfect sensitivity, ONE SWIPE left or right should give you a 180 turn
@@huhbdh3449 i should have left that out honestly sensitivity comes with preference theres gonna be low sens, mid sens and high sensitivity players. when i started competitive gaming when i was 12 in 2002 that was what i learned, one swipe which is roughly a ft long drag should be a 180, i always played like that so i learned how to be consistent with my aim.
A long time ago when I played: Quake, Counter Strike 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 We did something similar, these things I have worked with bots. Especially when published Z Bots for 1.6 and you have bot_stop, bot_crouch command, I run in circles around them constantly keeping sight on head. In Quake you can choose any icon for a weapon or whatever was on the floor and run around in bhopping. And back in days CS 1.5 - 1.6 we have exercise that we called 7 bullets holes, I'll just tell you that it took place in the lower tunnel DD2. How we perform will still remain secret. :)
What i would do instead is to spawn in a bot and follow his head, this way you know the size of the head and it also helps with positioning your crosshair at head level instead of aiming at the body or aiming above their head.
REEE EEE aiming at head level is natural, you get better at it as you play, but it's better with a wall, because you can trace it wherever you want and the hole that the bullet makes is smaller than the head so it shows even the little problems with the sens.
I use 16000 dpi with 16 sens in game (ocd) and i can track heads with aimbot like qualities. Having a really high dpi like mine offers the most advanced precision in a gaming mouse possible. This is why I bought the new deathadder elite so that I could remain advantageous over my enemies as advertised. If you are looking to improve your accuracy and have better tracking than the next guy, then I recommend trying to dish out the money for the absolute highest DPI you can afford. People often talk about how they think I am cheating and I have been banned from leagues simply because of my natural aim with the aid of really high dpi
Frosty actually it does, dpi changes how the sensor senses smaller movements...the higher the DPI the smaller movements it senses, BUT...the higher the DPI the higher the chance of ERROR in reading movement which can cause a mouse glitch (random mini flick), so in my opinion the best DPI settings are 400-800-1200-1600, most people use these on comp FPS games, with 400 being native on most mouse and u always want to go x2, for example if u want a higher DPI and right now u have 400, go for 800 (400x2=800), the mouse is working the best that way, dont go for numbers like 500, 450 etc...it can cause the same glitches and ERROR`s
Ive always went 1:1 for my mouse pad space - Mouse set to 800dpi - Then find something stationary to look at, do a full swipe left or right, making a complete 360 to look at the same object - A full swipe (from middle of your mouse pad) in either direction to either edge should do a full 360 - If it overshoots or undershoots, adjust accordingly in in game settings but always keep DPI on mouse to 800 for a general sensitivity - Most games feel great out of the box at 800dpi, but if you ever feel the sens is a bit whack in the game try the aforementioned trick - The logic being that if you can do a full 360 in a swipe in either direction, you've pretty much got every sensitivity 1:1 in whatever direction you look. It may not be the 'best' sensitivity, but ive found that generally it works the best and most universally for near every game - It also may not be as suitable for smaller mouse mats - My current mouse mat has about a foot of space on each side to travel.
What if your feeling of sens changes every day. What to do with it? How to figure out your ideal sens? Find one that you are comfortable with for the longest period of time? But it's gonna be a huge experiment. Frck that
this works if you go for tracking aim, people like shox would have a completely different sensitivity since hes having more like a snap on aim. this works for beginners tho
It's on RUclips already. A good thing I added to it when I first watched a long time ago was to track the dot, then suddenly stop to emulate stoping in a enemy target when you're pre aiming. Anyways good that you are trying to help lower skill players. Hope you're doing well maybe you could get in contact with skillzy and I and we could do some pugs some time. Thanks!
Otherwise just work on it... I'm primarily an awper, and use an absurdly high sensitivity for flicking. (4.12 800dpi) I was at a point where I could only use the awp, and was useless with rifles due to my inability to aim. I bought a separate account, and used only rifles to get my rank back. I'm now an incredibly versatile player, playing better than ever!
Mendokusaii a pro Overwatch player for C9 played cs one time on stream and he was randomly doing this in an ESEA pug and it honestly looked like he was just straight aim locking. His tracking was so good. He was doing it against random stuff on the map btw not in enemies.
Wow,Thank you so much so i had used 3.17 back in the day and i was noob at the time so it wasn't sens fault i sucked at aiming now i finally learned how to aim but then i was looking at some stupid guide's like best sens and everyone said it was 2.5 and i used it and i kinda sucked a bit because it was just not right and now thanks to this video i tested it out and it looks like my old sens is working out better than my new one.
This is more a combination of movement and crosshair sensitivity - which is the best thing to do but some people forget that aim is combination of movement and crosshair
lol I can't find my perfect sens I used to use 1.664 then switched from 2 to 2.9 and I can stay on there heads while moving with all the sens I used so idk what to do
Really depends on how close you are to the bullet hole... if you're a mile away, with this criteria, you'll prolly have to lower your sens a fuck ton. Maybe with a set distance.... like A SITE to CAT on dust2 would be a good spot. My sens is 2.6 at 400, so up close I'm still able to trace heads (aka bullet holes) really well. Depends on your playstyle too. w0xic uses 12.96 at 400 so you can really make anything work lol.
My DPI is 500 and I have 2.25 in game sensitivity. Is that an average, high or low DPI? I feel like I could aim better with the sens lower but when I change it I don't have enough room to move the mouse around on my mouse mat, and I can't flick with an awp.
I am playing 800 DPI 0.60 ingame and I just learned that basically nobody plays as low as I do. Should I change it ? Would it make me play better to have it higher ? Idk tbh.
Bro! I was convinced my preferred sens was 1.725 this technique made me switch it to 1.7 and carried my last 2 matches w/ 2 aces 0.o Imma start watching you stream...gotta pay you back somehow.
No matter what sense I am on I still manage to keep my crosshair right on the bullet hole. The problem is that I flex my whole arm while doing it. How do I find out if I need to "upp it" or "down it"?
After playing for some time you will feel the upper edge where you just get too inaccurate at longer ranges and the lower edge where you are handicapped by being unable to look Up/Down and turn in general. So take a median of these two values and stick to it for as long as you can force yourself to.
2.5 SENS 800 CPI ( CPI is the correct term, not 'DPI' ) and I got insane aim short, mid and long range as well. I can even play 3.5 SENS with 800 CPI and rape people with it.

pls help.. i have 400 dpi and 2.6 sens in game... this is perfect for me at awping and not so good for ak... but when i put 1.77 sens and 400 dpi it is the best for ak and the worst for awp... what should i do?
Find out what role u wanna main and focus with that role with whatever sensitivity that suits you the best. Main AWP if that's what you like to do, or be a rifler, entry, etc, etc.
400 dpi, 6/11 windows sense and 0.85 in csgo. It's extremly low, but im so used to it so its fucking hard to change. I used to have 1 sensetivity in csgo with my old mouse, but when i got a new one the mouse felt lighter, så it felt like i had higher sense
I play on 800 DPI with a razer death adder elite. I use 0.6 sens and it still feels too high. Anyone else? Am I just more shaky than other people? Help please.
if it feels too high, just lower it.. sens is a matter of preference. there is no "perfect answer" Find your own and roll with it. everything else is a waste of time.
Hi friend, if it feels shaky it is no that it is too low or high. Your hand/wrist is simply not used to the movement, like doing something that requires technique but lacking the technique(the way you hold your mouse). Try steamworkshop map called: Fast Aim/Reflex Training Map [SP vs Bot] / aimtraindriving If you practice 1000 bots once a day with any sensitivity, and I mean any from the range of 400DPI 1-7sens you can make it work. This is coming from someone who is experienced and had issue with shaky aim :) I have tried from 400DPI with/without mouse acceleration 1-5 sensitivity. btw you gonna keep feeling shaky no matter what sensitivity you play in unless you work on it using that workshop map
It also depends on what res you play and if you play black bars or stretched, i would also play 400 dpi, i used to play 800 but feel more comfortable on 400
its too low try something like 0.8 or 0.9 or even 1.0 i used 1.38 400dpi i was too low and now i use 800 dpi 1.05 its perfect for everything before i couldnt turn 180 easily and sometimes i would flick my mouse over my mouse pad and my aim was quite shaky
i use 1000 dpi and 0.76 ig sens and my flicks r pretty good but my tracking is pretty bad but its perf for awping and the way i play, my crosshair placement compensates for my tracking :)
finding my sensitivity is harder than finding my gf's g spot

+aidyk1ng this vid doesn't tell you how to actually find a number. the calculator method is very precise. I suggest you do the calculator method.

Not RJayy it's the mousepad or old mouse
400 dpi, 6/11 windows sense and 0.85 in csgo. It's extremly low, but im so used to it so its fucking hard to change. I used to have 1 sensetivity in csgo with my old mouse, but when i got a new one the mouse felt lighter, så it felt like i had higher sense
CRISP CLEAN LOCK BOIS
I play on 800 DPI with a razer death adder elite. I use 0.6 sens and it still feels too high. Anyone else? Am I just more shaky than other people? Help please.
if it feels too high, just lower it.. sens is a matter of preference. there is no "perfect answer" Find your own and roll with it. everything else is a waste of time.
Hi friend, if it feels shaky it is no that it is too low or high.
Your hand/wrist is simply not used to the movement, like doing something that requires technique but lacking the technique(the way you hold your mouse).
Try steamworkshop map called: Fast Aim/Reflex Training Map [SP vs Bot] / aimtraindriving
If you practice 1000 bots once a day with any sensitivity, and I mean any from the range of 400DPI 1-7sens you can make it work.
This is coming from someone who is experienced and had issue with shaky aim :) I have tried from 400DPI with/without mouse acceleration 1-5 sensitivity.
btw you gonna keep feeling shaky no matter what sensitivity you play in unless you work on it using that workshop map
It also depends on what res you play and if you play black bars or stretched, i would also play 400 dpi, i used to play 800 but feel more comfortable on 400
its too low
try something like 0.8 or 0.9 or even 1.0
i used 1.38 400dpi i was too low and now i use 800 dpi 1.05 its perfect for everything
before i couldnt turn 180 easily and sometimes i would flick my mouse over my mouse pad and my aim was quite shaky
i use 1000 dpi and 0.76 ig sens and my flicks r pretty good but my tracking is pretty bad but its perf for awping and the way i play, my crosshair placement compensates for my tracking :)
