I was confused for a bit too, but as you can see, he got oll skip and before had corners in certain possition a cross on top so he probably knows some fancy algs
The last time I liked Gan was with the Gan 356 i3. I love having some weight on the cube to have more control. This year, it sounds like MoYu has always done a better job and makes Gan sound overhyped. The MoYu Weilong V10 is my next one or maybe an older version because they've always done great. I've been cubing for almost 12 years now, and Gan was my first ever speedcube alongside Jperm's RS3M, which is still amazing. I was sadly stuck with a normal Rubik's cube for the longest time😂
In all seriousness, I honestly think the GAN 15's maglev is already very controllable on nearly all settings on my cube. The problem I have with this cube is the insane number of internal catches this cube has. It's like the first batch of GAN 12s all over again.
Thanks, Phil. Can you also de-maglev the 20-magnet Weilong V9? That may besides reducing the weight significantly, by removing the maglev and the edge magnets, also make the cube more controllable.
Everyone can do that...... demagleving the gan 15 was a challange since u needed custom pieces, demagleving a v9 is just putting in a spring, sometimes a washer
Is a video on the weilong v10 special edition in preparation ? I’m so exited to see it. Xmas isn’t that far and I my Tv3 is dying and I think the v10 would be perfect. I just need to know if I should go with the normal or spend 10€ more on the special edition.
So why not just put slower lubes in a cube if you want it to be slower and more controllable Why do people refuse to give up using faster lubes like dnm, but then complain that the cube is too fast I just don't get it
Making the cube itself slower is wayy more sustainable than pumping slow lube into it constantly. It also changes the feel of the cube a little bit, and if you prefer slower cubes, having it be slower as a baseline makes it way easier to customize with lubes.
@@sofiamn_05 "Making the cube itself slower is wayy more sustainable than pumping slow lube into it constantly" - But how? This implies that cubes speed up over time after you put lube in, which is not the case? Cubes get slower as they get dirtier, don't they? Also, why doesn't this logic also work for "Making the cube itself faster is wayy more sustainable than pumping fast lube into it constantly"? No one seems to believe this, because everyone seems to always want slower spring cubes, but use extremely fast lubes. So why is the solution to make a cube faster always "use fast lube" and never "use maglev", but the solution to make a cube slower is always "use springs" and not "use slow lube". That just seems a bit inconsistent to me.
@@AveryHyena slow lube speeds up as it breaks in. Like sofiamn said, the goal is a more controllable baseline. Springs and maglev also have different feels and performance characteristics. Magnetic force is non-linear, which changes how the cube responds to flexing. Corner cutting on maglev cubes tends to feel harsher, but maglev also helps cubes maintain their cubic shape because the magnets use more force than springs to try to get back to their resting state. Speed is the easiest factor to explain, so that's what we usually focus on, but there is a lot more to it than that
What about Cores for the GAN 15? Are you gonna have those too? Because you went out of stock with the Tornado V3. I will never buy a Tornado V3 again for that horrible and fragile Core.
@@kimocheese8433 Maybe add a washer at the bottom? Take the washer from an old cube. There's usually one between the screw and the spring in those old cubes.
3:24 PHIL ROTATED IN ZZ
WHAT !
i said the same thing!
Sad Phil
It was to skip oll, this is one of the only times you would rotate in ZZ

Cool stuff, always love to see what kit ideas Steven comes up with
Cool as hell. LBL designs is cooking so hard
69$ for maglev and 75$ for spring ☠️
"the springy the better" - me 2025
Tbh kinda fair cause the set with the springs also come with the maglev i think😊

Me: I honestly forgot my GAN 12 was maglev it’s so controllable and nice!
The cubicle:
cuz old plastic not so smooth
Phil in a sweatshirt is crazy
No LBL sticker? Also, we finally have FZ setups! Thanks for listening to my feedback!

Hey guys, it'd be really cool to hear your thoughts on the Weilong V10 Limited edition sometime. :)
It's a v10 with less magnets, there's not much to talk about
@@CXLVII weilong v9 SE had less magnets, that turned out better than the regular v9
Loving the blooper! 😂

Welcome back to Gan 11 m DUO :D

Even tho you’re linda right lol
I think i'd still like it better with MagLev. I might get one on Black Friday!

first thought it was the customizable one
What would happen if you put springs in any gan cube? Oh idk i guess it would slow down.

Does the maglev bottom half get scratched on by the spring?
for the most part, the spring should stay still on the bottom and rotate relative to the top
