- Hurricane Beryl continues its deadly, destructive path Thursday on its way to the Yucatan Peninsula and then the Gulf of Mexico later this week. FOX 26 Chief Meteorologist Mike Iscovitz has the latest forecast track and potential impacts to Texas.

This reminds me more and more like how hurricane Ike was. They kept saying it was going to veer off to the north but it kept going towards Galveston, until it made a direct hit in Galveston. Now we have Beryl, which is continuing to take more of a northerly path instead of a westerly path, which I feel is a strong indication that's its going to make a Texas landfall instead of closer to the border. Even though every meteorologist is saying it's going to hit around the border, I feel like it's going to do what Ike did, and follow it's own path, rather than follow the computer models.
Yeah, I've being worrying about that sinced it was named. Crazy.
The "moderate shear" forecast once inside the Gulf worries me. That storm has been under heavy shear for 2 days and it's still a Cat 3. She's a fighter.
Hurricanes can always change in path and strength. Michael morphed into a cat 5 and slammed the panhandle of Florida within a few hours. I feel Beryl will re-strengthen and move in a northerly direction. Stay safe a pay attention...

I knew it wasn’t going down to a cat 1 today.
I am an American citizen who is currently on his honeymoon in Jamaica with his family. The recent hurricane was a cause of concern for us, and we were closely monitoring the situation. The hurricane made landfall which the eye of the storm came over manchester and other perishes at 5 pm Jamaica time, which is where my wife's family resides. We witnessed winds of over 160 mph, which caused significant damage to the area. The Jamaican Ministry of Disaster Management and Mitigation reported that the worst of the storm would occur between 4 pm and 8 pm, with a shift expected after 10 pm.
I hope everyone remains safe. At least the worst was during daylight hours where you are. It's much worse when you are in pitch black darkness. Alicia '82.

I used to dive at the Caymans years ago. The highest point of land is below 12 ft. Cayman was hit hard. I pray for the folks down there.

He's partially right! Mostly depends on which side of the eye you happen to be on. But even on the easternmost side, A cat 1 makes for great hurricane party weather. Tho
anything above a 2 on landfall can certainly cause havoc on its eastern side..
@@Highspdlowdrag How strong does a hurricane need to be to kick off a tornado in its outer or inner bands? You sure as hell don't want to be in the path of even an F1 Tornado.
