    Garmin trumps the AWU in just being a watch. Garmin is best for people who want health data and a watch, I would hardly call it a smartwatch but that’s the point. I don’t need constant notifications on my wrist or the ability to ask questions to my watch, people have been so reliant on technology it’s insane. I’ve had Apple watches from series 3 to series 6 and it sucked. it’s so nice to have a watch that just works and doesn’t need to be charged all the time. When did we become so attached to our phones that we need basically a small phone on our wrist. Garmin all day

  • @Xterminated01
    @Xterminated01 4 месяца назад +23

    Think I’m the only one who doesn’t like all the notifications on my wrist. I keep all phone notifications turned off on my Apple Watch Series 8. Only notifications I like getting there are workout notifications. No calls, texts. Ect.

    I have the Ultra 2 and the Epix Pro 2. I agree with you that the Garmin seems more geared towards extreme athletes which is the main reason why it’s overkill for a runner of my caliber. I’m just someone that’s trying to be health conscious and be active. With that being said. The Ultra 2 is more than enough for someone like me, an average runner that needs something to track my health journey with a great heart rate sensor and gps that’s on par with any Garmin. The Ultra will definitely last a marathon and then some even with music playing. It could even last a 100K race but not a 100 miler which is still beyond impressive for an Apple Watch. I run maybe 5-7 hours a week and after that. Just wearing it as a smartwatch, the Garmin is totally useless. But if you’re a serious athlete the Garmin is extreme bliss.

      @@commonmadeholy only when I run. Basically I take the Ultra and use it for the LTE and music plus the Garmin and leave my phone at home. But to be honest, if I had to leave out with only one watch. It would definitely be the Ultra because of the LTE connection. But I couldn’t say the same about the Epix Pro. Even though it has music, if I were to fall or have a medical emergency. There would be no way to call for help. It has incident detection, but it only works with your phone connected. So the Ultra is a jack of all trades but the Garmin to me is just all about sports and not an every day wear watch. Even though Garmin insists on calling it a smartwatch.

    If u need an iPhone on your wrist _(and also own an iPhone)_ then buy the Apple Watch
    If you don't own an iPhone dont buy the Apple Watch _(no joy for Android users)_

    I’ve been watching probably hundreds videos about garmin and Apple Watch Ultra 2 and as a Apple Watch 4 user I don’t understand what garmin offers that Apple Watch don’t. I get a lot data like HRV, sleep data, exertion, HR, paces, maps and much more. I’m pretty sure Apple Watch can match almost any feature that garmin has and it’s been tested also so many times that GPS and other data are very accurate. Why then AW is considered as a toy if actually can do more than garmin. The only bad thing about Apple Watch is battery and missing that nice torch. TBH I could go for another couple years with my AW4 but as for 6 years old watch the battery is pretty and holds only for a day.

    I've been a Garmin user since 2011 and battery life, Garmin Connect, having a decade of data and the buttons are just a few of the things that are great about it. I'm in the Apple ecosystem for everything else but their watch just isn't that great if you're fitness-focused.

  • @angadrangar5512
    @angadrangar5512 День назад

    the AW is more accurate in terms of Heart Rate and Sleep Tracking. Garmin watches are not as accurate. IIRC AW has an R >0.99 and Garmin is like .90-.93 so theres that. If a fitness tracker isnt accurate what am i really getting for 20x the battery life? the ultra easily lasts the length of a full ironman which is about my max in terms of what i need it for. There are apps, yes at an additional cost, that give you all the metrics like sleep score, recovery score etc. How useful are these metrics though? Most of the sports scientists you hear talking about this stuff are either going on RPE or actual physiological measurements, so if youre somewhere there in terms of level the watch doesnt really matter anyway. My take on this is simple, its the battery life, buttons and using an android phone that should swing the decision in favour of the garmin. If you lack the ability to charge your watch daily, buy a garmin otherwise the apple watch is more accurate and a better watch.

    So right what you say. Great video. I have just sold my Garmin Tactix 7 on EBay and want to get the Apple Ultra 2 for exactly the reasons you stated which are for daily use, that I am part of the apple eco system and not training to do 100 mile endurance run. The Garmin is also quite boring after using it and have not progressed like Apple with regard to answering your phone on the watch, paying with your watch or replying to texts etc. Garmin have so many watches that they seem to blend into one, for example the Tactix is like the Fenix which is like the Epix. They just add a little bit in each of their updates like oled screen.
