    Why you do the primaries before the transform and then the rest of the color grade after that node instead of using the transform node as the last and work inside the SLog Color Space to take advantage of the dynamic range and the color gamut?

      It depends what kind of lut you are going to use! If it's a correction lut , you add it before lift/gamma/gain node. If it's a creative lut, you will add it later after lift/gamma/gain.
      There is no rule , This is how I will do it

    Have you any idea why my skin tones are changing to super pinky?
    I'm filming in hlg2 bt2020 and converting to rec709 same as you, and my colors are so bad...

    • @MehranHadad
      @MehranHadad  2 года назад

      I think your color temperature is wrong! But when you convert BT2020 to Rec709, colors shift towards red a little bit

    What about having two CSTs, I see some youtubers use both the first to convert to davinci colour space then another one back to rec709. All the grades are done in between the two nodes

    It doesn’t really work with my GH5 HLG. It crushes all. It could be also a timeline colour space adjustment.

    • @MehranHadad
      @MehranHadad  2 года назад +1

      you should either use the CST or the Project color management

      Unfortunately I don't use the Cine4 PP! My preferred picture profiles for Sony A7 III are the Slog and HLG!

    What if you just colour grade/correct skin tones without the process you showed? Can I get similar pop in colour for the skin tones directly by colour grading?

    • @MehranHadad
      @MehranHadad  3 года назад +1

      It might be possible to some levels, but you might not achieve the same flattering results as you get here, because it would be better to convert the color space so you get accurate colors
