Congratulations to Primoz, he kept on amazing cadence and tempo on the real tough sections of the angliru. Very impressive ride, and equally good from Jonas to keep pace with him. Also well done to Kuss for limiting his losses. For we fans who are neutral and want to see a good race, Jumbo is handling this very well. They’re safe as a team so let the strongest man win!

To everyone saying let the best man win - Kuss IS THE BEST MAN. He’s on his third grand tour and had he not been so tired helping Jonas and Roglic, they perhaps couldn’t have distanced him. They should’ve taken him with them cuz the other teams weren’t in contention and it was a chance to help him. It’s no gift - if it is, everything that Kuss has done for them was a gift too.

Stop making it out like Kuss is some selfless guy who „helped“ them win. He is employed for it, has a clear job description and fulfills it.
If you want to see it that way you could also see it like this: the captains Vinge and Rog are helping the team by bringing in the results and money to pay the others wages.
This is a professional bike race. May the strongest man win.

Let's just get this straight for those who thinks that Vingegaard is selfish and has done nothing to help Kuss.
    1) He didn't call Kuss back on the stage Kuss won, when Vingegaard was ill. That has laid the foundation for the extremely fortunate situation the team is in.
    2) Vingegaard has been collecting bottles and food for Kuss. We've seen it on camera.
    3) When Vingegaard had defects, he didn't ask for anyone from the team to ride him back, so they could stay with Kuss instead.
    4) Vingegaard has pulled for Kuss on several occasions, having Kuss in his wheel.
    5) Vingegaard has helped Kuss to position better in the peleton on almost every stage, making sure Kuss was held out of trouble.
    6) Today he didn't ride full out and did - again - what Kuss wanted him to do.
Saying Vingegaard has done nothing for Kuss and is just being selfish is not only misinformed, it's an outright lie. Vingegaard is known for being a team player, for giving the domestiques the chances to ride for stages and even in some stages back off and let them win (he did again today with Roglic, although Roglic isn't a domestique), and he's selflessly sacrificed himself many times for the rest. But he also has a job to do, that he's paid for, and that's to win GTs.

The stage that Kuss won was a well executed plan to put Kuss in the lead so the pressure was not on Jonas and Primoz, but on other GC contenders. I still think that Jonas didn't need to go with Primoz and should have stayed with the raceleader. If done so, Kuss might only lost a handful of seconds to Roglic instead of the 19 seconds did now. Kuss maybe should remind the both gentlemen who they need next year in the Giro and TdF. He might be happy not winning the Vuelta this year, but when he will look back at his career in a few years time, he will regret that he missed the opportunity by being too nice.

Attacking your own team leader in the leaders jersey.?.Sepp Kuss should be team leader of EF Education or Ineos he would then win the Tour.Betrayed .

That would be a disaster to Kuss, if he’s leaving TJV he would go from success to totally disaster. He would never haver a chance to win a GT or being successful…. But maybe it would be the best to everyone….

Sepp and Pogacar have more class than these two will ever have. UAE would be a good fit. Says a lot about Jumbo when they expect a guy to ride 3 tours in support of these two and to be treated like that. Sepp no more mister nice guy, attack these two if you can and to hell with your DS.

TJV posted on Twitter that Kuss said: "Go guys", when he got dropped, intending that Kuss himself told them to ride away. If that is true, Kuss really is probably the greatest sportsman ever, letting Vingegaard to threaten his jersey.
But even if so, Jonas and Roglic should have realized that by now they are there to help Sepp Kuss and not to play foolish games. They showed that they are no sportsmen at all but selfish a**holes and no teammates at all

@@holmbjerg Well, Vingegaard waited for Pogacar at the Tour last year, but could not do it for Kuss. They could've even let the victory for Landa, considering all the work TBV did. Back in the old days, that was actually a thing to do, even for rivals.

Well, after watching stage 17 I have lost ALL respect for Primo and Jonas, to attack your TEAMMATE who helped both of them win their grand tours is unbelievable. Primo looks embarrassed during the post stage interview with an embarrassing smile because he knows he’s in the wrong. This is a team sport, no individual can win a GT on their own. Jumbo Visma need to have a word with these two and make a decision in order to hold onto any respect they had.

it's a team sport. so I think you can gift it to him. He has done an absolutely amazing job and enabled the other two to win their tours. Why not give him the recognition he deserves and give him this tour.
It's for the same team. And it will still be a 1,2,3 for Jumbo
