- Looking for a large-bodied slope shouldered dread, with a short scale length and vintage construction and appeal in spades? The CJ-45 T, or Traditional Series Collings Jumbo, has you covered. Collings makes their CJ models with a wide array of tonewood, neck profile, scale length, and finish options, but the CJ-45 Traditional with Sitka spruce top may be the all around most versatile and balanced. The classic pairing of Sitka with mahogany gives the player dry, woody power and a warm, balanced tone. This particular CJ-45 has a shorter scale length of 24-7/8", "resulting in a somewhat percussive bottom end ideal for acoustic blues or other styles that benefit from a more controlled bass response."
To sweeten the pot even further, this CJ-45 was built with Collings' Traditional construction and voicing techniques. The vintage-inspired approach adds a different bracing pattern than the standard CJs, as well as the T-Series neck design combined with the C profile.

It's almost counterproductive to have Carl demo a guitar because we all know they'll never sound as good in our hands. Expert playing, very nice guitar.
It’s true in a sense . Imagine watching Kelly Slater surf on his High Performance 5’5” in overhead surf with power and fluid style and think I need that board cuz he’s good but I’m only 25 and he’s 49 so I can surely surf as good as him .
A new TNAG demo featuring Carl and a Collings is always a special occasion. Beautiful!
Ridiculously terrific playing/recording/guitar. Thanks Carl, TNAG, and Collings guitars.
Incredible guitar! Collings does it again of course! Beautiful playing!
Beautifully done. Collings guitars are really great for this sensitive type of playing; they bring out every nuance clearly. I have one of these with the sitka top (rather than his Adirondack) as well as an OM2H and 002H. No regrets.
Incredible playing - technique and sound quality are off the charts. Best part of watching Carl play is the "bobble head" movement he has...it's like it is real-time reacting to whatever is emerging from his hands and the guitar. 😂
Very articulate mid range.
Always wanted a Gibson j45 but I might get this instead
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Warm !
Want!
Is this the model with the Adirondack top?
Sitka and Mahogany, my all time favorite. Gibson sunburst slopers, my favorite.
Well played as always.
I owned a 1946 J-45 bought in 1965.
I believe this guitar to have more color in the tone.
What is the nut width and string spacing at the bridge saddle ?
1 3/4 nut
2 5/16ths spacing
