  • “Monsoon Season” and “Flash Floods” - these are some terms you’ve probably come across the last few weeks. But what exactly are flash floods and how do we manage them?
We answer these questions in the second episode of Our Water Journey, where we take a look at Singapore’s flood management over the years.
What else would you like to know about how Singapore manages floods? Share your thoughts with us!

Now in my 50s, when I was young, I remember there were lots of flooding, especially along Bukit Timah area, once I was stuck inside an SBS bus from morning till afternoon around that area as the bus couldn’t pass through the high level water.

Simple solution. Just change your citizen to china, india, nepal or rusia that are not an iceland or peninsula and live there in peace. It's predictable that no more ASEAN countries in the world map in 2050. Save your life now before it is too late and no more country can accept you as a citizen. Just let the stupid people to live in ASEAN!......

We can bore multiple deep tunnels and reservoirs under the seabed link to an offshore island to store or drain away flood water. The vent holes and pumping station can be located at the offshore island to continuously pump the excess flood water out into the sea.

Limited land space for drainage expansion, going deeper into the earth is the only way to avoid flooding. When you can't go horizontal , might well try vertical. 😘😘

HDB was the solution. Flooding still occur these days. Drains only address a small percentage of the issue. The governnent should harness the rain water for use as drinking water rather than buying from Malaysia.

Pls refer to 23 Mar 2010 news, our Singapore Founding Father, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew mentioned that " No amount of engineering can prevent flooding" ruclips.net/video/Uq8lweli2YY/видео.html
