Hey brother. You mentioned that you wanted to learn about Hinduism from some book. I'd advise against that. It's better to learn from a Guru, because there is a great chance of misinterpretation. Bhagwad Gita is a standalone chapter from the epic poem Mahabharata, and can be read without any context because of it's form and message. But other than that , I would suggest you to watch videos of reputed Gurus, which almost anyone can recommend. But I'm guessing you're fascinated with the synthesis of modern ideas with the ancient ideas. I'd highly recommend watching another podcast of Ranveer (the guy you're watching) with Nilesh Oak. That man just goes into hardcore scientific evaluation and evidencing of many stories and beliefs.
You can read the Bhagavad Gita for tips on the right way of life.. But for information on creation, the universe/multiverse, afterlife, God etc you can read the Vedas, after which the Upanishads would help. The Puranas are mostly about mythology and the Shastras come after that

I’m a Hindu but I am also realistic, this story was in the Bhagvata purana which is about 1100 years old, the story may be a few hundred years older. Hinduism was created from the combination of indo Aryan, Indus Valley, adivasi, and proto Dravidian religion, this mix happened likely around 4000 years ago but those proto religions are thousands of years older. The first Hindu book (the rig Veda) was written about a century or two after the initial mixing and took centuries to write.
How does Rig Veda mention the river Saraswati in its full glory as the mother of all rivers and the Aryans performing rituals on its bank, if the Aryans only entered the region 4000 yeaes ago? The river had already dried up and diminished by then.
