Update: One thing I failed to mention is that the container you store the wipes in needs to be dark or opaque, not clear. So, either use a dark colored container or spray paint it.
Very useful video at a much needed time. Thank you. God bless to you and your family. I pray that you and yours stay safe and healthy through these stressful times.
Hi! You can also use wet mop refills and add your own disinfectants to the already wet ones or use the dry ones and add your own mix in a reused container from old wipes. That kind of material holds up far better than paper towels. Also, you can get 15 in a pack at the dollar tree. There is other cloth like wipes of a similar material there and these can be cut to size and used the same way.
That's a great idea with the paper towel and the container, but as someone else mention the container is transparent. maybe painting it black prior to filling it with hydrogen peroxide.
White vinegar is a mild disinfectant. Also, find at sporting goods stores Chlorine Dioxide. Thst is NOT the same molecular structure of household chlorine bleach (not as effective). Chlorine Dioxide is used in water treatment plants. Another good video Bryan. Thanks
That is a nice alternative to the wipes and I have most of those ingredients at home. I have my share of dissenfectants around home though and is prepared for cleaning areas around the home and autos.
Watching you pull the cardboard core out, I could picture your wife standing back shaking her head and chuckling. You did fine. Thank you for your video.
Jim Coogan I wouldn’t recommend that as once you spray into the air it becomes an aerosol and you don’t want to breathe the peroxide into your lungs!! Paper towel method is what you should use!!!
@@sticktrik Spray it onto the towel or surface, not your face. Your logic would preclude the thousands of spray cleaner bottles Everywhere! Clorox, Windex, Lysol ad infinitum. Hmm? Needn't set it on Mist, just a normal spray.
Thanks for this, Bryan, very helpful! Not surprised to read "Shipping WILL be delayed on new orders, 12 weeks or more in some cases" from your link, especially as the pricing looks very decent. Hopefully we're stocked up sufficiently! :-)
You could use a hacksaw blade (no saw needed) stick it through the tube and saw thru the card board. Just thinking, the hacksaw blade could be used as a pry tool to get under the tube for easier removal. That from your fan who brought you the micro usb and how to align your flashlight's pocket with the flashlight's brightness button - wishing you blessings in this ever growing scary times.
Good video and with timely information too. However, it occurs to me that it might be easier to put the ingredients in a spray bottle and spray it directly on the surface and, after sitting for a minute, wipe off the residue with a paper towel. ...just asking.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Then spray it onto the towel. Honestly, that's what I did when wipes instantly disappeared from stores: bought some colored spray bottles, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol (when could find it) and paper towels. It works Great and is simpler: I prefer it now! The bottles were in the travel-size section of drugstore. I don't put a lot of H2O2 at once bc the bottle, though purple, is not that dark. I keep it in dark place, though. And the alcohol one is good for metals, as I damaged brass doorknob w/ the H2O2: oops!
That's what I did. I just got small spray bottles and paoer towels. Never thought to make my own wipes in a jar. Spray plus towels works Fine, though! I now prefer it to wipes, as it's cheaper and less wasteful. I can spray it onto the towel if I don't want to spray directly. That leaves the liquid in place longer to disinfect better, anyhow, I read. I haven't gotten sick yet, nor has my loved one..
3% is not really that strong. I use 3% hydrogen peroxide as mouth wash. I wouldn’t gargle with it though, although, I also make a 50/50 mix of alcohol based mouthwash and 3% hydrogen peroxide that I do gargle with. Some people drink small amounts of the food grade 3% hydrogen peroxide for health reasons. I have 35% hydrogen peroxide that will eat your face off. That’s stuff is strong and dangerous.
SORRY, THAT LOOKS LIKE A BIG A** Disaster....LOL,LOL Nothing against you but, I rather just spin those extra few more pennies, Or rather just use my spray and hand towels that you just cut in half....
Don't you t hink the peroxide will kill any germs on the stump. Whichg are just good old dirt anyway. What I find more interesting is that every single comment about doing this on a stump top has been from a woman. I don't say that in any sort of derogatory way. My wife is the same. If it weren't for you females, we guys would probably have a hard time making it to 30.
This will work against some bacteria and some fungus butThis won’t kill a virus know your chemistry people!!! People putting out questionable videos like this make me feel sorry for his sheep.
So you are saying 3% Hydrogen Peroxide won’t kill viruses? Where are YOU getting your information? Because several reputable sources I checked (before making this video) all stated that a .5 % Hydrogen Peroxide is effective against the virus. As I said in the video, this is for surface disinfection. And I don’t have any sheep.
U should had removed first that cartoon in the middle before u put the roll of paper towels inside the container. Before doing a demo, make sure to learn things first if it’s be ok to the viewers. Thx
Why is there is a shortage? According to everything I read, there is no supply shortage. Lysol is an American company; and many toilet paper makers are also based here. Merchants need to adopt and enforce quantity limits on high demand, health and hygiene products. They also need to stop forcing people to come into their stores; when we are supposed to be practicing social distancing. Online sales would be easier for them to keep track of who is hoarding; by using people's mailing addresses as an identifier. That would prevent families from going into stores, pretending to be individuals; and buying more than their family's share. The selfish people need to understand that there is a price to pay for depriving others of the things they need. If government keep imposing these unconstitutional lock down orders; people are eventually going to rebel, or go nuts. Martial law will follow.
That's what I want to know---I haven't seen any Lysol or disinfectant wipes since Mid-February--in Northern Ohio. I went to 5 stores today---No lysol or wipes anywhere---if I find some, I will HUG it like a lost child!!!!!
Update: One thing I failed to mention is that the container you store the wipes in needs to be dark or opaque, not clear. So, either use a dark colored container or spray paint it.
I recommend this for non-metallic surfaces only. Peroxide rusts iron and steel and corrodes other metals really fast.
Thx for the tip
Instead of paper towels, maybe try those blue disposable shop towels they sel in auto parts stores. They are stronger than regular paper towels.
yes they are
The Viva brand paper towels are cloth like and work really well.
@@debbiesparks471 I will because I use Viva thx for the info
There are also dry Bamboo wipes available on Amazon and you can get amber colored mason jars that block out sunlight. Thanks for the video!

It irks me that this was left but the hand sanitizer vid was removed. They are both great.
That's a great idea with the paper towel and the container, but as someone else mention the container is transparent. maybe painting it black prior to filling it with hydrogen peroxide.
Yep. Thanks
Please PLEASE check about the effect of light on peroxide. They put it in a dark bottle for a reason.
I know
Don’t use peroxide on marble or granite! Peroxide cleaners have that disclaimer.
Thanks for putting out useful information when people may need it.

Yeah, hers was better
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Well, you did just fine!!!👍
Would it still work if you put the hydrogen peroxide and the oils in a spray bottle and then misted paper towels on an as needed basis?
I would think that would be a much easier solution.

Be careful since peroxide treated paper can pose a serious fire hazard if peroxide treated paper is allowed to become dry.
Really? How cool is that!

For your hands, your cheap aftershave or odekolon at least 70% alcohol will do well too

Needs to be in a light proof container. That’s why it’s in a dark bottle.
I wonder if heavy duty shop towels, maybe the blue ones, might work well for this?
I bet they would
I would use this with Viva paper towels.
if you have any.
Vida paper towels work great for this as they have a cloth type feel to them. Ty for the videos
Supposed to keep in opaque dark container.
Awesome video and great information.
You need a good paper towel like bounty something strong. Like the ideal
You can use lens cleaning tissues as a hand wipe as they contain rubbing alcohol.
not sure the alcohol is strong enough.
Good video and with timely information too. However, it occurs to me that it might be easier to put the ingredients in a spray bottle and spray it directly on the surface and, after sitting for a minute, wipe off the residue with a paper towel. ...just asking.
Yes it would. But Some stuff I don't want to spray

Now the paper towel is dirty from that dirty tree stump.
Dirt won’t hurt

I been looking no hydrogen peroxide in my town anymore
can use bleach, just dilute it about 8:1
Great video! Thanks for that information!
Thanks Bryan & Mrs. Bryan For This Easy Enough to do ! Stay Safe & Well, Friends ! ATB T God Bless
Same to you and yours Terry
I did the same thing ! Good idea
Only works well if using a better quality paper towel (like Viva). The cheap ones like he is using will simply shred & (almost) disintegrate.
I wouldn’t say it ONLY works with good paper towels but is almost certainly works better. Way better. Extremely way better.
It works great with Bounty and Brawny!
Thanks Bryan. Good video.
Thanks for watching!
They used to laugh at preppers.
Not anymore
I was one of those ones laughing it up. Not now.
Maybe spray paint the container black so the hydrogen peroxide in the wipes won't dry.
great idea
Nicely done Brian :)
Thank you kindly
Need high quality 2 ply paper towel or wash cloth reusable. TFS
that would be better
On a dirty log! Lol
LOL - Kinda ironic, given that it's a video on making something to sanitize.
Good to know.....thx for the info! And its cheap to make 😃
It really is!
Looks good. I will look at peoples comments also. Thanks and take care.
Thanks, you too! One thing, use a dark jar or paint it black
SORRY, THAT LOOKS LIKE A BIG A** Disaster....LOL,LOL Nothing against you but, I rather just spin those extra few more pennies, Or rather just use my spray and hand towels that you just cut in half....
Of course. If you can find any to buy.
Thank you!
Flaw your container is clear. Peroxide loses its effectiveness if exposed to light. Container needs to be darkened
yes you are correct.
Why would you put those paper towels on that filthy stump ?
Dirt won't hurt.
use a fine mist bottle
Cool idea stay safe
You too
That's a knife!
H2o2 hydrogen peroxide breaks down fairly fast into nothing but H2o water.
True. I should make the jar dark.
I don’t think it’s very sanitary to be cutting the paper towel on a log stump and stuff it directly into the container. I won’t be doing this 👎🏽

Thank you
How about cutting a clean white tshirt?
sure
cant even get alchool
Brilliant
MY wife gets all the credit
Right! Hydrogen peroxide loses it effect when it is exposed to light. Hence the bottle it comes in is brown.
True. I forgot that. I need to add a pinned comment mentioning it.

How about boiling then washing with soap?
Is it effective against cv19?
