- When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing the profound prajna paramita, he illuminated the five skandhas and saw that they are all empty, and he crossed beyond all suffering and difficulty.
Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. So, too, are feeling, cognition, formation, and consciousness.
Shariputra, all dharmas are empty of characteristics. They are not produced. Not destroyed, not defiled, not pure, and they neither increase nor diminish. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, feeling, cognition, formation, or consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no sights, sounds, smells, tastes, objects of touch, or dharmas; no field of the eyes, up to and including no field of mind-consciousness; and no ignorance or ending of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death or ending of old age and death. There is no suffering, no accumulating, no extinction, no way, and no understanding and no attaining.
Because nothing is attained, the Bodhisattva, through reliance on prajna paramita, is unimpeded in his mind. Because there is no impediment, he is not afraid, and he leaves distorted dream-thinking far behind. Ultimately Nirvana!
All Buddhas of the three periods of time attain Anuttarasamyaksambodhi through reliance on prajna paramita. Therefore, know that prajna paramita is a great spiritual mantra, a great bright mantra, a supreme mantra, an unequalled mantra. It can remove all suffering; it is genuine and not false. That is why the mantra of prajna paramita was spoken. Recite it like this:

心經是佛陀講給舍利子的經文.舍利子的母親叫舍利.舍利的兒子故稱舍利子.《心經》全文二百六十字，為印度古德撮取六百卷《大般若經》的精要而成的要瞭解經文內容，首先便要明白「般若」。般若有淺深不同的意義。從淺的來說，般若即是智慧.
「波羅蜜多」在梵語的意思是說：「事情已經辦妥」，有終極、圓滿的意義。在佛法中即是「到彼岸」。
從生死大海到達涅槃解脫之彼岸的過程可稱為「波羅蜜多」
「心」字是指心要、核心。大乘佛法以般若經為中心，般若經又以此經為中
心。所以說，《般若心經》為大乘佛法的心要，為佛法中最要緊的一部經典。
「經」，梵語修多羅，本義為線，有連綴攝持之意。佛滅後，結集者將佛說
的教義分為部類，次第編集，成為有系的組織，以便傳誦，就如以線將花連綴，
使不散亂一樣。這結集出來的法義就稱為經。
唐貞觀三年（西元六二九年），奘師啟程西行。其時李唐建國不久，邊禁未
開，所以，奘師是偷出國境的。沿途過五烽、越沙漠、度蔥嶺、入鐵門、翻雪山，
孤身犯難，倍見艱苦險阻。終於以超人的堅忍，排除萬難，抵達印度，到當時的
最高佛教學府那爛陀寺，隨戒賢及寺中大德學《瑜伽師地論》、《順正理論》、
《顯揚》、《對法》、《因明》、《聲明》、《集量》、《中論》、《百論》及
《梵書》等大小乘與外道的要典，達五年之久。此外，並四處參學及巡禮聖跡。
後又回那爛陀寺，代戒賢主持講席。又著《會宗論》三千頌，融會空有二宗，及
製《破惡見論》一千六百頌，申大乘義以破小乘。在離印前，更接受戒日王邀請，
以論主身份，出席全印宗教論辯大會，盡服諸小乘、婆羅門、及外道代表，給全
場稱譽為「大乘天」、「解脫天」，可說是中國歷史上最出色的留學生！貞觀十九年（西元六四五年），奘師返抵長安，帶回大小乘及外道典籍六百五十七部。兩個月後，於長安弘福寺開始其譯經工作。但他又全譯六百卷大般若經、金剛經、心經，以。這種胸襟見識，實在令人欽敬。可惜，奘師晚年積勞成疾，。西元六六四年），才六十三歲，
便不堪勞瘁，力竭而逝，帶返的梵本，還有十分之八九未能譯出。
*觀自在菩薩，行深般若波羅蜜多時，*照見五蘊皆空，度一切苦厄。*
*經文中是由佛對舍利子說法，非由*觀自在菩薩對舍利子說法也。*「觀自在菩薩」
羅什本譯作「觀世音菩薩」，智慧輪本譯作「觀世音自在」。其實「觀世音」與
「觀自在」二者有不同的德性，由觀世間之苦而尋聲救度，稱為觀世音；從自己
的修養上得到大自在，則稱觀自在。此經應以觀自在菩薩為榜樣，使我們能夠得到佛法的自在。
*舍利子！色不異空，空不異色；色即是空，空即是色。*受、想、行、識，亦復如是。*
此段經文乃佛對舍利子說的。舍利子是佛的大弟子，在弟子中智慧第一.
因此佛陀每當說及般若的時候，多以舍利子為說法對象。舍利子以母親為名，母名舍利，舍利之兒子故稱舍利子。

*舍利子！是諸法空相：不生不滅，不垢不淨，不增不減。是故空中無色，無受想行識。*
佛再呼喚舍利子，以示新的段落。諸法即一切法，空相即空性。這個空性
即是無自性之性。要說明這一切法的空性，佛就用了三對概念：不生不滅，不垢
不淨，不增不減。
「般若波羅蜜多心經」這個經題，如果我們明白的話，所有經文也可不用說
了，因為經文全部都是解釋般若而已。以內容而言，則整篇經文是解釋最初三句：
「觀自在菩薩，行深般若波羅蜜多時，照見五蘊皆空」。下文「舍利子！色不異
空，空不異色；色即是空，空即是色，受、想、行、識，亦復如是」則是整篇釋
文的核心。再下的經文不過是枝葉上幫助解釋的說話而已。

na duhkha-samudaya-nirodha-maargaa, na jnaanam, na praaptir apraaptitvena.
Bodhisattvasya prajnaapaaramitaam aashritya viharaty acittaavaranah.
