This song and whole record is unbelievable. Charly is one if a kind and so so so tragically overlooked by American or English music media simply because it’s in Spanish. I started learning Spanish as a hobby over the pandemic and through that I found Charly Garcia. Discovering his music has been incredibly important for me .

Particularly, it narrates the story of a boy getting hit whiles he is laying on the floor by several men of the government in a club. You may feel sad for not understanding the lyrics now, but IMO it's a blessing. It took me years to learn Spanish well enough to understand the lyricism of Charly and due to the insane yo-yoing depth of his metaphors, as a foreigner to the language, I never stop being impressed and taken aback, making me realise all over again just what this man has done for the world. There's a reason why he's treated like a God in Latin America. Charly will blow your mind many more times. Charly García was way ahead of his generation. Raw magnificence in all his songs. The lyrics & Pedro Aznar's bass in this song kills it. "Modern Click" it's a great album, you're lucky to enjoy that iconic song for the first time.

The lyrics beautifully complete Lewis .. even with a need to "decode" them. They synthesize situations and images, with a poetry that says everything between the lines. You have to locate yourself in the reality of a country emerging from a long dictatorship, to understand the "encrypted" message behind the lyrics. Tio Lucho!!! A couple of fun facts about this masterpiece that you might like: -The bass is played by Pedro Aznar, bass player of Seru Giran. The dude is a virtuoso, and here he plays a fretless that is sweet as hell. -The guitar, in a 7/8 time signature, is played by legendary guitar player Larry Carlton. -The song is about a guy who is dating a underage girl, and therefore he got beaten up. It was called "Pecado Mortal" (Original Sin), but the censorshit changed it to avoid any backlash from a society that was leaving a dictatorship. -They recorded this in NYC, and it was poorly received in Argentina at first time, because everybody was expecting a rocking Charly instead of this poppier, new-wavy guy who cut his hair and used drum machines. Eventually, everyone loved it, and is regarded as one of the best latinamerican records of all time. If you liked this, try the completely different (though is in the same record) "Los Dinosaurios": is a sad song, with lyrics that speak directly to a society that lost a lot of people because of the torture and repression of the dictatorship.

There's a reason why he's treated like a God in Latin America. Charly will blow your mind many more times. MAL, son tremendos temas, especialmente Lobo-hombre en París. Me transmite el mismo sentimiento que al escuchar La ciudad de la furia, es algo bastante particular.

Tio Lucho!!! A couple of fun facts about this masterpiece that you might like:
-The bass is played by Pedro Aznar, bass player of Seru Giran. The dude is a virtuoso, and here he plays a fretless that is sweet as hell.
-The guitar, in a 7/8 time signature, is played by legendary guitar player Larry Carlton.
-The song is about a guy who is dating a underage girl, and therefore he got beaten up. It was called "Pecado Mortal" (Original Sin), but the censorshit changed it to avoid any backlash from a society that was leaving a dictatorship.
-They recorded this in NYC, and it was poorly received in Argentina at first time, because everybody was expecting a rocking Charly instead of this poppier, new-wavy guy who cut his hair and used drum machines. Eventually, everyone loved it, and is regarded as one of the best latinamerican records of all time.
If you liked this, try the completely different (though is in the same record) "Los Dinosaurios": is a sad song, with lyrics that speak directly to a society that lost a lot of people because of the torture and repression of the dictatorship.
