Thank you for visiting with us. I was interested in hearing your views on all of these books! I have taken a two week break from reading, so I think it is time to start back up!
Yes, definitely!
Love the new room set up! So Happy for you. I agree with you about Clotel; it's a strange narrative structure and definitely better to think of as a collection of narratives as opposed to a novel. It's definitely an important book, as you say, but the topics are hard to read and the writing itself can even be a bit of a drawback. That said, like you, I'm glad I read it and that the book exists. Happy reading!
Thanks for stopping by!
I read woman in white a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I’m glad you liked it. Aloha.
Yes, one of my favorites so far this year!
I feel like we're just sitting together and chatting. I love that the way you talk here is the same way you talk to me when we're together. You're so genuine. Loved the insights you shared. My Kitchy (sp?) reading is cozy mysteries. Sometimes I just don't want to think. ~smile~ I do enjoy nonfiction a lot, especially histories. Enjoy England!
Thank you, friend! You are so kind!
75 pages a long time for a discussion lol. I think their worry about the opinions of their husbands would drive me crazy too. 😂 glad it turned around for you! I can completely relate about wanting to guard emotions when you are raising kids. I have started to read difficult books over the past few years, but I definitely have to space them out and fully recover before I jump in to the next one! I haven’t finished anything for Historathon either. 😅 Interesting about Mary B. airing out her coworker drama throughout the book. I think of all the books you mentioned, The Woman in White is the one that I am most interested in reading. :-) Hope you have a nice weekend!
The Woman in White was the best, for sure!
