    FYI. You will get more increase in strength by increasing the perimeter count than you will with infill while not affecting print times as much.

    I've been getting better and designing my own car parts and have started fitting my Turbo E36 with quite a few CF Nylon parts. It's so much fun when you design something and print it and it all works out.

    Hi David few weeks ago I finally bought a 3d Printer and... WOW!
    Practically since I turned it on it hasn't stopped printing.
    The net is full of very useful projects and calmly I will try to learn modeling on Fusion, in the meantime thanks to videos like yours that indicate excellent objects to print!

    I think your Bundy tube straightener would be good for bent lines.
    Sometimes you have to bend them to get them in or taking them out.
    With a fresh roll of tubing it’s not hard to roll out straight lengths on a flat surface.

    The vice press brake is awesome. You should print multiple narrow ones instead of one long one. This way you can alter the length etc.

      @@IGDesigns I always tend to check out peoples channels who subscribe, you never know what you will find and there’s lots of good stuff out there! And a K24 with a K20 head is definitely good stuff!

      Yeah, I can’t see it either now, strange! I originally just did some test folds with the press brake for the video but thought it deserved something more involved!

    If you make and fabricate anything then 3D printing is a great tool. Unfortunately alot of people who are doing 3D printer making the same crap over and over again

    Another great video!
    I use an Ender 3D printer too, it's a great work horse. Did you know that you can use 3D printed parts to cast metal counterparts? Lost PLA casting might prove useful.

      A type of investment casting is on the list, but probably a way off, I'm fairly sure there are specific wax based filaments aswell for that job, I need to give it a go....

    another way to straighten coiled brake pipe is to grab one end in a vice, hold the other end in a vice grip at 90 degrees, then hit the vice grip with a hammer in the direction of the desired straight pipe line, it shocks the pipe straight, cut the crushed ends, all done. I was surprised how well it works.

    free hand drill bit sharpening is fairly easy, just a few attempts and you'll get it right enough

    This is late but if you change the infill type to gyroid with the same precent you can get your parts to be at least 1.5 times stronger than the other types

    It is amazing what you can do with a cnc hot glue gun in your home workshop these days.

      @@MakingforMotorsport i do. I got mine back about 8 years ago. I've been needing an upgrade for a while. I ordered a Prusa a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to printing with some higher temp materials.

      @@S09Engineering I always fancied a printer but thought they were gimmicky, but when I actually read up and found out about CF-Nylon and PC I was sold! But it’s still amazing what good old PLA can do!

      @@MakingforMotorsport my main use is fine-tuning designs before spending the money on machining them. There is nothing worse than finding out your part fresh off the mill does not fit. Ask me how I know. I might have to dig up some motorcycle-specific prints and make a video like this.

    Just found this channel and i think it's awesome. I really don't understand how it has so little subscribers.
    What kind of 3d printers would you suggest to someone that would like to make parts for his car? Capable of printing carbon reinforced nylons because ITBs lol

    yep. 3D is the shit. now just waiting for metal printing to arrive in a useable small workshop scale & cost (as opposed to rocket engine size).

      It's called metal casting. I prefer block mould/plaster investment casting. Just use a model printed from PLA filament that's designed to burn off cleanly, or a wax-like SLA resin.

      oh yeh... and these were all made with PLA, a couple of little upgrades - print ASA and CF-Nylon and you've got some real functional parts....

      @@MakingforMotorsport did you have to upgrade the nozzle for printing in CF? Actually, what upgrades have you used for your ender3 in general? I've been thinking I'm going to get one as the one I built is probably showing its age by now 😆
