I always love when you play these obscure games that I'd never even know existed.
Thanks, Ian! That's what I really enjoy doing :)
I bought the England version and have played maybe two dozen games on it. I really like the game, except for one major flaw: the Flying Machine. As written, the rules say that once all four pieces of the FM are on the board, the Martians automatically win.
Several folks over on Boardgamegeek advocate that instead, when the FM is completed, the Martian Colonization factor simply increases by an extra point each turn. This pretty much doubles the rate at which the Martians reach 10, but it is still possible for Humanity to win.
This game is very hard to win. Out of those two-dozen games, I have only had a Human victory once!
Wow - two dozen games?! I need you on my team :-) I also lost my very first session through the Flying Machine and added at least 3 pieces everytime, so let's see how this one turns out. What do you mean with the "Martian Colonization factor" exactly? One extra point per destruction marker?
Apart from that: any strategic advice for my next video? Should I build another field gun and attack the wave in the North?
All that great artwork and then the Martian and Human victory point counters are "M" and "H", huh? Did they miss a stretch goal during the KS or something?
Had exactly the same thought... really a shame but maybe they needed something, which was easy to identify (basically all counters start the game on "0") :-D Maybe I find something to replace those...
It's odd for sure.
I have been waiting for this. Thanks, Markus!
And great to have you with us, Stasia! :)

Why is the Manchester region called Liverpool. Disgraceful.
We have something very similar of that nature around my town, so I get where you're going with that :-D
Because it is Liverpool major sea port since when has Manchester been a port😆
