The sound of this 4-cylinder boxer engine is one of the nicest symphonies the human ear can have. Simply amazing!

I truly miss my 1976 GL1000. However mine had aftermarket Vetter fairing, shield, saddle bags and trunk.
Bought it with 22,000 miles on it and sold it exactly 2 years later with 88,000 miles on it.
Only long trip was to the Smoky Mountains. All the rest of the 66,000 miles were just riding around North Alabama...

@@miguelibarra8209 If I could afford it now, I would love to have one of the later/more recent models. I had to replace the points with electronics and there were many other things I did/had to do, but it has been too long ago to remember them all. Trying to tune the 4 single barrel carbs was a real chore! However, 66,000 miles in 2 years tells you that I really loved riding the 1976 GL1000. Of course, it was my ONLY transportation for those 2 years as well. (smile)

I have a ‘75 and also ditched the points for a Dyna ignition. Got tired of the carbs and installed a single Holley carb. Smoother running , more power and my mpg went from low 30s to mid 40s.

It's Milan, Italy, and lane splitting isn't allowed at all... Although it's tolerated almost everywhere in the country, if something happens you gonna have hard times with insurance.

@@yomadman90 Lane splitting not allowed in Italy? Ive been in many places in italy and most scooters / bikes barely obey any rules at all, let alone lane splitting. I thought it's allowed in most of europe. No problem here in spain, by far the most convenient and safe way.

Mystery47 - Riding styles are different between countries, and even cities. This city looks like it allows splitting lanes, and there seem to be a lot of bikes and MC's on the road. Maybe this is standard riding for this area? I don't know, but I did see that he was short shifting it, so it wasn't like he was running the bike hard at all.
Here in the USA car drivers don't see bikes because they are so few on the road, but where bikes make up a large percentage of the traffic it is much different.
Here in the USA the biggest problem that I ever had was with cage drivers running over me, and claiming that they never saw me... defensive driving was rule number one.

And NOW you folks can understand why motorcycles are involved in so many accidents. I have never seen such irresponsible, juvenile driving. Be sure to post the video when someone opens their car door and you run into it or when you try to squeeze between two cars and one car moves and makes the passageway too small.

    • @Arthurzeiro

Mate, places that allow bikes to lane split tipically have drivers that expect that behaviour, I take you're an american living in a state which doesn't allow It and that's why it looks so alien to you.
Trust me, I've been living in a city called Belo Horizonte with a population of about 8 Million or a while now, and what you see in this video is extremely cautious riding overall compared to what I witness on a daily basis.

A comment from someone that doesn't ride, and has obviously never been anywhere. And NOW you folks can understand what happens when someone that has no idea what their talking about starts lecturing. Please be sure to post the video of you "driving" YOUR motorcycle, so you can show us all how it's done.

Drivers in other countries actually share the road with motorcycles, it's an amazing concept.
They'll even leave space ahead of them at traffic lights so all the bikes can line up. The bikes are all much faster than cars on take off and literally cause no inconvenience to anyone other than the selfish.

Driving any vehicle this fast in densely populated areas is sheer fucking stupidity. I have been riding motorcycles for over 50 years, and I drive can ride very fast when conditions warrant. I live in Los Angles and split lanes all the time, but I don't ride like a bloody asshole!@@samchisolm8713
