Thank you. How did Mary invest $200,000 in an annuity when she only had $140,000 left after her spending? Also, do these scenarios work the same for someone on the Disability Support Pension?

Thank yooooou!! Katherine, your videos have been incredibly helpful. I am glad for your videos, they are highly educational. You speak clearly and slowly, easy to understand. Keep up the great work. You do know your topics so well. It will take me a lifetime to learn a fraction of what you know.

Love your channel Katherine. Thank you for your time. You responded to my last email to you very promptly and it was helpful. We appreciate you so don’t listen to irresponsible trolls, they are sad softcocks who really have no life, no friends and sadly no future.

Whilst my wife and I are planning to retire independently funded we have close family members for whom this is not an option and we are aware that plans are one thing and life is quite another. I am certain that this knowledge will come in very handy for someone we know if not ourselves. It is unfortunate that our system requires such explanations and appropriate assistance is not given by our government as a matter of course.

Hello Ian, I agree with you 100% and I am a strong believer that financial knowledge should be introduced in schools, as this is an essential knowledge to have secure life, as well as healthy and wealthy society.

You mentioned about gifting? Can we give gifts when we are close to pension age.How will that affect age Pension application. Is this $30000 gift for one person or can I give the same amount to another child that means total gifts of $60000 ?

When do you start counting inheritance, so that you have 12 months time to sort it out.

Hi Katerine, I just received an inheritance of about $150K and currently receiving Carer Payment from Centrelink for past 3 years. I am now 60yrs. I want to transfer all my iheritance to my Super (accumulating). In doing so, will the inheritance still be subject to assets test to Centrelink?

Yes, that's correct, but Centrelink will just reduce it as per $10K a year. As long as it is within $30K in 5 year period, Centrelink has no issue with this
