Couple of things I learned from putzing around; -Opening with a monument towards the center of the base, then tasking Pharaoh to empowering it allows you to passively empower all your starting gathering. -Because Ra has a bonus to berry bush gathering, it is technically faster to gather from berry bushes than hunting or herdables since the berry bushes stay in place. -Focus food, at your seventh food gatherer, toggle waypoint to gold, and the first villager that pops assign to building all your free housing. -At 130 or 125 gold, select all your villagers harvesting gold, manual dropoff them, and you should have your 150 to build temple Done correctly, all of this helps to age you up to II by the 3 minute mark. From then on; -Always have your Pharaoh and Priests empower stacking. I.E. , pharaoh empowers monument, priests empower individual buildings within monument's range. Instead of 100% or 70%, all empowered buildings are at 70% from Pharaoh plus 70% from the priest. so 140% for multiple buildings rather than spots of 100% or 70%. -Osiris all day every day. Had a stack of monuments around a lighthouse. Because I had 2 sons of Osiris and 2 pharaohs all empower stacking the monuments, the lighthouse revealed almost all of the map lol
Does anyone else find it a bit irksome that Retold doesn't have the big "WORSHIP PTAH" (or whoever) on top when you're researching a new age? I miss that somehow.
I don't miss it too much when I play but when I watch streams, I often can't see what the player chooses cuz people click so fast and then i miss it a lot more, especially since everyone seems to have their queue in a different place and the icon is so small.
the reason the son of osiris went on a solo mission down the map was because when he right clicked to move his army he accidentally clicked on an injured unit, thus causing the click to make the son of osiris go alone.
I may be stupid but can someone tell me why in the very beginning he starts with getting wood then immediately switches to food without "securing" the wood first?
@@theowlogram888 oh, sometimes i am amazed at the really small stuff that gives advantage in this game.....wow, now I understand how Odin mains feel after the line of sight nerf 😅😅

so I've been testing this build order against defender skirmish just to see how fast i can do certain things. keeping both priest and pharaoh in base really only saves like 10-15s on age up to classical using the build order used by BOIT in the video. the problem is how long you go without having villagers on gold. even using the priest to speed up the Monument-house-work camp, really isn't worth it enough vs having the extra sheep, scouting gold mines and potentially grabbing relics. but i am by NO MEANS, all that great at the game.
can someone explain how these new fangled mummies work? Why should anyone care if a minion gets spawned AFTER the unit dies? The point is to kill the damn unit.
because that mummy then becomes another unit for the enemy army to deal with. its also melee which sort of bodyblocks enemy melee from getting near the mummy if the other player isent microing.
The ability now has an aoe if I remember correctly, so the mummy can affect multiple enemies with one spit, and all those units will then spawn a minion if they die, in small battles it could be tricky but in big battles where the lifespan of a unit in the battlefield is like 30 seconds it can quickly lead to you having 20+ free units instantly helping you in the battle in a matter of seconds.
In Retold. If your vils are carrying some food or gold or wood, but then you take them onto another resource, do they lose the previous resources they were carrying? This always annoyed me in AoT
If you just click them onto another resource then you still lose what they are carrying yeah. They did change it so that if you build a resource drop point (even of another type) you get the resources. Check out Boit's opener. He puts villagers on wood to start and then builds a granary without dropping wood. As soon as the granary is done his wood villagers auto drop before switching to hunt and his wood goes from 100 to 126.

Well played boit! Your early game macro (minus the 50 gold short tc) was literally impeccable
Kimo lost the game when Meme-Nado did literally nothing.
Not even Ra can beat s-tear Ra lol that cracked me up
I think the son of osiris got seperated since you clicked a unit on the lower map for him to heal, so only he went without the army.
the reason the son of osiris went on a solo mission down the map was because when he right clicked to move his army he accidentally clicked on an injured unit, thus causing the click to make the son of osiris go alone.
9:42, lol it's Locust, the Heroic Age god power.
Less impact that most Archaic GPs
@@NotFlappy12 All the archaic age god powers have a massive impact if used correctly. Locust doesn't even kill one villager. Rip
Kimo still playing The Titans while Boit is playing Retold
Why?
@@simonesgheiz3039 He uses his old Ra strategies and minor god picks. The early Rain is a telltale sign. Boit is more up to date on the new meta.
Won against Kimo of all people! Well played Boit
when he saw the Son Of Osiris alone surrounded and went OH NOOOO, I FELT THAT ahahhahahaahh
rip the citadel population
Almost had a heart attack seeing that Son of osiris alone
9:40 my god, locust and shifting sands are so bad in Retold
SS is just awful, takes forever to teleport, Locust is just laughable... It's like an archaic age version of Curse
all these years of whining about eggy transfered from AoM to AoM:R. Sad reality.
Jollyman
was the best Ra. he managed to defeat TheMista at a time when he was literally untouchable ;)
17:46 kimo is on fire.
u played so well, congrats! poor kimo lol
Wow, that's impressive! What do you have against the citadel godpower though?
:P
he's just not that into you into you you eye air, why is locust so bad btw?
I may be stupid but can someone tell me why in the very beginning he starts with getting wood then immediately switches to food without "securing" the wood first?
The wood is for "pickaxe" research, because you will mine gold from the beginning of the game, while the wood you will only collect later.
Citadel and swarm powers feel so weak. Its a shame :(

Why scout with the pharo when you can empower the whole base with hime while scouting with the priest 😅
Because he has more movement speed and line of sight than the priest
