I was memorizing the whole chapter of psalm 91 and my 3 year old has separate verses she memorizes but one day, she just came out and quoted psalm 1:1 and I looked at her just like how Katie said she looked at her daughter 😂. She was listening to me and started memorizing with me and I had no idea! Those are the moments I’ll cherish forever, hearing your child quote scripture is truly a blessing! ❤
When Katie quoted that scripture, that was a very powerful moment. Immediately I was in tears and the spirit was so present. What came to my mind was Deuteronomy 30:14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it. And also Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Such an encouraging interview. Thank you for posting this.
Never have been to Uganda but sounds cool! I have been to Cameroon a few times and loved it. She is right on, this country (USA) has become a very independent and lonely place. Thank you Katie and Josh for your encouraging words.
This has literally brightened my whole holiday season. How refreshing and you can see the brightness in her countenance. We have greatly missed God's will to meditate on His Word as The priority in our lives. I'm inspired to memorize Psalm 119 this season.
The story of her daughter in the river made me think of losing my dad a year ago. Just knowing that he's waiting around the bend for me. Just hearing about the culture of everyone being around everyone all the time also made me think of Israel in the wilderness and what I think the kingdom will be like. God's mandatory instruction to go camping together in Zechariah 14 means we will definitely be spending time with others in the Commonwealth. What a blessing!
So fun! I read Katie’s first two books awhile ago but didn’t know she had a newer one out! I’ve always been inspired by her big bold moves, but I also appreciated her authenticity in acknowledging that sometimes she doesn’t get very far in her Bible reading before getting interrupted, but she keeps at it. She keeps remaining faithful in the little and big things. So good! And I loved hearing her share about Scripture memory!
Thank you for this interview. I enjoyed that Katie has combined some of the craziest things I have done (live in Africa, foster children, and adopt children, and memorize the Bible) and seems like she is having fun doing it. She seems to be living life to the full.
Thank you so much for this video. I was so glad to hear your story! I enjoyed hearing about how you adopted your kids and then had kids too. I love it.
Thanks for sharing. It is very encouraging! Sometimes I want to hear His voice. However, God has spoken to us through the scripture. By memorizing and meditating the word of God, I can hear His word and I can understand what it means to me at different situations.
Our son, thru BMA, in the '70's, at "3", "4", & "5", Scripture verses A-Z! I was amazed that a child that young COULD do that! "Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might sin against thee". ☺️
I’ve memorized Psalm 1, 8, 100 and 139. 139 is my favorite and my three adult kids all memorized these chapters in elementary school and many more. I use voice memo to record the chapters and listen while walking to memorize:
This has just come up for me, and I love what she is doing. I visited Haiti 3 times, to minister to orphans. I want to check out her books, and get help with memorizing scripture, thank you
We are humans not super heroes but He works in supernatural ways to show us how He is always the Heroe we can trust. Blessings to Katie and her family, absolutely inspiring interview
To add onto this; The Lord has been so gracious, and honestly I think when we honor him, and do things to glorify him he blesses it 10fold, I have been memorizing Romans 8, and just from doing that, my two girls ages 5 and 6 have memorized all the way from Romans 8:1-12 with me, without me asking them too. And the Lord has been using this chapter for a few weeks in different places in sermons, catechism classes etc, and they run up to me so excited! It really is amazing what the LORD does!
So she finds a husband out of the middle of nowhere, so to speak, and I've always been in a populated city for most of my life at 42 and never found anyone.😕 I just dont understand.
She didn't "find a husband." God sent her one. Believe me, you don't want just any husband! 🌹 ... Walk in God's ways. Walk His path (Psalm 91. ) , and your person will be walking the same direction, eyes on the goal.
Yes, and not only did the Lord send her a husband while she was in living and serving in Uganda. But, he too was from the area in the U.S., where she had previously lived and grown up! Talk about Amazing! To God Be the Glory!!!
Wow, seriously!!!? I listened to this and NOT ONE SCRIPTURE verses was quoted!!!... I may have missed it, but what a shame with the title of this RUclips and not hear a scripture verses!... I call that outrageously sad.
20:22 She quotes at this point Romans 5. Hope this helps. This beautiful video is about Katie's way of memorizing scripture yes, but her life in general. Peace be with you. 🙏
I think it's great if a person can memorize and repeat scripture. Today it seems that everyone I talk to who belongs to a Christian church has their understanding rooted in church doctrine, yet little to no knowledge of the truth that is within the context of scripture. Replacement and dispensation theologies from man have done a great job helping Satan to twist the word just as Peter warned.

I love that story :)
I appreciated Katie's honesty about her struggles and how her priorities (Scripture memory and the like) keep her grounded in Christ.
Agreed. 👍🏻
She has 13 kids and if anyone doesn't have time, its her! But she still accomplished it❤
Exactly :)
Agree! She actually has 15 kids. 😊 She’s precious
ITS Jesus in her❤

God has been putting a newfound love for Africa on my heart. So thankful for your testimony!
👍🏻👍🏻
“Safe all along”- love that helpful truth❤
Agreed, Mark!
Katie's words rekindled hope that I, too, could make God's word a priority.
Awesome!

Wonderful!
Same, God's got us
You are two pleasant people enjoyable to listen to. Thanks.
Thank you kindly!
This interview is such a blessing. Seeing how God has used Katie and shown Himself real in her life is an encouragement.

Wow, I'm sure it's hard not having your dad, Robert, but so glad to know that he's waiting for you "around the bend". Thanks for sharing.

That’s awesome, Danny!
What a fantastic interview! Biggest take away-we have to just show up anyway, and make memorization a priority
"Show up anyway..." Yes!
Memorization a priority over what? Husband, God, children... What exactly?
Thank you so much for this video. I was so glad to hear your story! I enjoyed hearing about how you adopted your kids and then had kids too. I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it, Joyce!
Katie is an absolute inspiration🛐
Yes she is!
Thank for loving this country uganda and giving your time and sacrifice
👍🏻👏
And I cried here. Thank you for the good word.

Wow, glad to hear this being a Ugandan🇺🇬, it's a pearl of Africa❤,
👍🏻👍🏻
Neat channel- I started memorizing all the Psalms to put them into classical music and added my four children to the project.
Awesome 👏
What a lovely and inspiring woman of God! ❤
I agree!
Outstanding video! Very encouraging and awesome to hear Katie's POV.
Glad you enjoyed it!

@babadeedee Thank you but I dont have one of those
@ if you have a smart phone of any brand, it probably has a voice memo app or get one at the App Store.
I love her!
She was so fun to chat with!

Did she mention why they are back in the US?
I don’t know if she did in this interview, but she has in others.
15 children :O
It's crazy!
My question is how do I actually memorize it? Is there a plan I should follow?
Have you seen the book? www.memorizewhatmatters.com
I worked there
At Amazima? Or in Uganda?
@BibleMemoryGoal I worked at Biyinzika Poultry International which had farms all over .I stayed at Kiyunga at Vision for Africa mission.
wow! you never who is listening when you recite.
Kids pick it up faster than we realize!

Yes
The only way to actually hear the voice of God is in his Word.
Thanks for the comment!
Many times even memorizing scripture doesnt always open a mind to His truth. Church doctrine and traditions are so deceiving.
So what’s your point?
