I was memorizing the whole chapter of psalm 91 and my 3 year old has separate verses she memorizes but one day, she just came out and quoted psalm 1:1 and I looked at her just like how Katie said she looked at her daughter 😂. She was listening to me and started memorizing with me and I had no idea! Those are the moments I’ll cherish forever, hearing your child quote scripture is truly a blessing! ❤
When Katie quoted that scripture, that was a very powerful moment. Immediately I was in tears and the spirit was so present. What came to my mind was Deuteronomy 30:14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it. And also Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Such an encouraging interview. Thank you for posting this.
Never have been to Uganda but sounds cool! I have been to Cameroon a few times and loved it. She is right on, this country (USA) has become a very independent and lonely place. Thank you Katie and Josh for your encouraging words.
Thank you so much for this video. I was so glad to hear your story! I enjoyed hearing about how you adopted your kids and then had kids too. I love it.
So fun! I read Katie’s first two books awhile ago but didn’t know she had a newer one out! I’ve always been inspired by her big bold moves, but I also appreciated her authenticity in acknowledging that sometimes she doesn’t get very far in her Bible reading before getting interrupted, but she keeps at it. She keeps remaining faithful in the little and big things. So good! And I loved hearing her share about Scripture memory!
The story of her daughter in the river made me think of losing my dad a year ago. Just knowing that he's waiting around the bend for me. Just hearing about the culture of everyone being around everyone all the time also made me think of Israel in the wilderness and what I think the kingdom will be like. God's mandatory instruction to go camping together in Zechariah 14 means we will definitely be spending time with others in the Commonwealth. What a blessing!
Thank you for this interview. I enjoyed that Katie has combined some of the craziest things I have done (live in Africa, foster children, and adopt children, and memorize the Bible) and seems like she is having fun doing it. She seems to be living life to the full.
Thanks for sharing. It is very encouraging! Sometimes I want to hear His voice. However, God has spoken to us through the scripture. By memorizing and meditating the word of God, I can hear His word and I can understand what it means to me at different situations.
So she finds a husband out of the middle of nowhere, so to speak, and I've always been in a populated city for most of my life at 42 and never found anyone.😕 I just dont understand.

Katie's words rekindled hope that I, too, could make God's word a priority.

What a fantastic interview! Biggest take away-we have to just show up anyway, and make memorization a priority
