This is the venom we have in the movies
But people blind
And I love it! And now they need to make Holland Spider-Man like this too
Something is off about those movies. maybe its just the bog standard plotting of sony pictures but i dont think venom works as a protagonist. unless you make a deadpool kind of ensemble movie.
@@tomatoesofdoom They didn't get enough character development to be a hero protagonist yet. Should've started as a villain.
@@doryaman you're right, the realization that Venom can be Spideys friend is the moment that makes him supremely interesting. Also I guess in the comics you can make anyone the protagonist. but in my opinion venom works best as the failed analog to spiderman. especially considering his host is eddie brock of all characters
1. He need spiderman to be this venom
2. The venom was made for a kid game. So it makes sense he act like this
Had to come back to this after getting Spider-Man 2. The nostalgia is CRAZY and so weird to see how far games have come
Hell yeah
Hopefully he becomes an anti hero if he comes back in the next one would be cool
Doc Ock being a Nazi is something I didn't pick up on as a kid.
In the case of Spider-Man 2 we've gone backward. In 2023 we get that turd and back in 2000 we got this masterpiece. The world is crumbling
It’s this sort of material which makes me believe Tom Hardy’s Venom can have brilliant chemistry with Holland’s Spidey
Should’ve been Andrew
@@ericdxfan511 Can you NOT assert your opinion into a comment that has nothing to do with it?
Tom Hardy AND Tobey Maguire
Holland acts like a kid .. venom is the kid and Spidey is supposed to be like the grown man w a bad attitude w venom .. not gonna work
@@franciscobueno6589 Holland's Spider-Man acts like a kid? It's almost like he's a teenager or something
The fact that I still dream about the ending boss fight where Carnage Ock chased you still gives me nightmares to this day that just means Dee Bradley Baker did a amazing job. So to me one of the best Spider-Man games ever. Also Daran Norris AK Cosmo from The Fairly OddParents did a fantastic and I mean fantastic job as Venom!
15:29 the most 2000's thing i've ever heard
13:07.
This is one of the best versions of Venom ever. People forget that he is an antihero after he is a villain in the comics. They just look at the cartoons or Spider-Man 3 to prove he’s a villain. I love that the Venom movies are following this approach and actual comic storylines.
Barely in Spiderman 3 wtf
I would hate for someone's main point of reference for this guy to be spider-man 3
Don't forget the Ultimate Spider-Man comics as well, where Venom is portrayed as nothing more than a mindless monster who eats random innocent people all the time in order to keep the symbiote from eating Eddie from the inside. I like that version of Venom, but people sometimes looked at that version along with the cartoons and Spider-Man 3 to prove he's a villain like you said. And now after Spider-Man 2, people are gonna bring that game's Venom up to prove he's a villain. Like, ngl, i love the game, it's good, but it could've been better, especially Venom's characterization.
@@justaway4271I mean the only cartoon that got him right was the one from 1994.Spectacular would have gotten the same arc as his 1994 counterpart but you know Disney happened and canceled it.
Psp game.
I love venom calling Mary Jane a bimbo
No re mastered ... this .... is pure BEAUTY
The simple bass that plays when venom comes out always sounded sick with that cutscene.
Man… the nostalgia lmao. It’s crazy how their mouths not moving didn’t bother us back then. This game was so fun as a child.
This game aged very well! I’m still coming back to see this content and they can’t even stop balling up fists.
I’m so glad this is the version of Venom they used for the movies cause honestly it’s the best. Wants to protect the innocent? Check. Makes good quips? Check. Has kind of a dark humour? Check. I could keep going but my point is this Venom… is the best Venom
Agreed
15:27 "Are gonna surf the web?" I like how both Venom and Spidey have a natural sense of humor.

Venom and Carnage have the perfect voices!
Honestly some stellar voice acting for the time
What i loved about this game was they explained all the characters and their backstories over the menu.
You became a little Marvel/Spiderman specialist during the playtime! And playing the game was awesome! ♥️
Stan Lee explained the backstories.
Man what a nostalgia trip. I played through this game countless times as a kid. The sequel Enter Electro is also so underrated! Would be thrilled if these games even got a port to the PSN store.
I also enjoyed the addition of the symbiote tentacles, especially in that chase sequence. Sure they are just 2d images stretched and squashed around, but the fact some had a different color for the eyes and whisked around when Venom lunged further away from the player is most impressive.
Oh man, this Spider Man game has SO many hilarious moments, but you can't beat how they did Venom. They did it so well, I miss when video games were so creative. I still have the game, but this ironically is what introduced to me to Spider Man, Venom, and the villains. Never any other Spidey game is so great.
My favorite Venom line, in 6:41 - "Quit slacking, BOY!" LOL
For me it's 8:19. "Where'd Spider-Wuss go? SPIDER WUUSSSSSSSSS COME OUT AND PLAAAYYYYYYYY!!!"
Spidey with the quick comeback: "TAG (double kick to the head)!!!"
I played Spider-Man 2 on ps5 and I do love that game I just didn’t care for venom. So I had to come back for peak venom content. This is the perfect interpretation of him and more media need to do this.
Truee, venom was so gold in this game

"Are we going to surf the web?"
Oh, classic venom.
😂😂😂😂😂
damn this game was way ahead of its time! presentation is super fun while still having a solid understanding of the characters. That cutscene with Eddie imagining what Jonah would say is a perfect example.
I love Venom's appearence in this game! Very menacing!
I remember getting stuck on that monster ock mission for days, ahh the good ol times.
I got stuck on it for hours and had to leave the ps2 on overnight because i didnt have a memory card compatible with ps1 games.
If i i am.
My favorite video game of all time and Venom boosts it immensely lmaoo
Hopefully the upcoming Insomaniac Spiderman 2 has the same personality with this Venom
Nah don't think so
Probably won't...unless Harry loses the symbiote and it finds it way to Eddie.
@@yourfatboy5359 “Yes WE will” kinda sounded like a smart ass response to Kraven tbh .. but that might just be me.
@@Mr.PR2000 hopefully
No no hell no.. we don’t need venom making stupid jokes in 2021
Open this door........"WHOOOOO ISSSS IIIIIIT"
Having currently reading the lethal Protector story this seems like they nailed venom's personality
Definitely a rated R blood thirsty venom right?
Still the best voice acting for venom.

The fucking nostalgia! My boys...😂😂
I'm so glad that this game was my childhood. Such good memories
Can u tell me the name of the game
This game was my jam. I loved the voiceover work for it. The boss fight was awesome!
This game is why I fell in love with Venom.
15:40 it sounds like he is trying so hard not to laugh while saying that
Surf the web lol
5:27
Spiderman: “Thanks, Johnny. Hey, actually, as a fellow superhero would you mind helping me-“
Johnny: “Have faith, Spidey.” *WOOSHH*
I always find it hilarious that other major superheroes don't give a crap about spider-man. Like the Fantastic Four and the Avengers live in NYC too but don't do anything about spider villains
16:25.
Lold
This was my first Spider-Man game. Classic
So much memories I can’t even explain. Growing up playing this. Wow
We didn’t know what we had back then. No social media barely a phone, just pure entertainment
This is the version of venom we see in the movies
If we ever get to the point of venom/spiderman team up in the MCU I think the Tom Hardy venom will be pretty close to this in relationship dynamic
Ah, I miss playing this game on my grandma's PS2. Those were some fun times!
He's pretty hilarious 😄
I love the guitar sting that plays when Venom appears. I wish the movies would take note
Deadpool and venom my favorite marvel characters
