Hey Captain Nick, just did the once every 4-5 month Dr appointment to Miami from Sarasota today for my daughter’s eye cancer check up. All great. Next appointment is July 20th so I’m going to try like crazy to bring our Jon boat down for the appointment a few days in advance and get down to the Keys. I know it lobster mini season so might be tough finding a place, so starting to look now. Hopefully if we can swing it $, we’ll definitely stop by Bud and Mary’s to pick up some merch, tackle, bait etc. And hopefully run into you guys and say hi.

We did get on the Freeman’s pretty early on (ordered first one in Feb 2015), so the timing was good for us. Especially with the bigger boats

Lot of good boats out there. None of them are perfect, it’s always give and take. Cost plays the biggest role in my opinion. Any of the big name brands with good reputation are usually a good bet.
I'm partial to the 28 Floridian we have on order, definitely think that's the best hybrid on the market

Just did my geography google lesson, Sarah had an 80 mile cruise to the show ,,,, that wouldbe been a great trip,,,
The best part of the video is at the end...Sarah needing a zip tie for her hair to go out on the Freeman...you know it's fast! That and Nick asking if the manatee observer enjoyed the ride...she had no idea she would be screaming through the bay at 60+.

I had to laugh when he said we have a big ass swell coming in here.
Last weekend we had a 12 foot swell on the bar at the Port in Oregon . The swell at the mouth of the marina was bigger then what I saw in this video. The ocean had a 10 foot swell with a 3 foot wind chop on top of that. I'm not sure if I'd want to take this boat where we fish in the pacific on the Oregon coast.
The filming was hell

i dont think you should get the 28 honestly, i love freeman dont get me wrong but 400k+ for a 28 cat seems a little much to me !
A Boston Whaler 280 Outrage costs about the same and it’s not even a catamaran. That’s actually a pretty reasonable price.
A bit much? Ridiculously too much. Costa makes the best one. Likely you see Stanz in one because they'll get it as a borrow boat to promote or at cost ($150k).
400k? Thats ok, I'll keep my 17' mako. Bought used for 11k.
Thanks for watching. I agree 100% They are definitely all expensive nowadays. A quad engine 37 was less 7 years ago than the current 28, but the wait time and used market set the price. The 28’s are already a year and a half or more out.
A 26’ Costa with a similar set up rigging wise is around $300k, the Freeman is 2’ bigger and it’s a freeman, so it’s gonna be more. Whenever you can talk billy into building me one for $150k I will take 2 🙌🏻
@@daytrading5456 the newer costas are similar prices if i'm not wrong i saw a 26 with twin 300s asking around 400k, with these prices going to the moon it's going to affect the used market too unfortunately. with quality control on a bunch of new boats being a issue as well i don't see the point in buying new

They are expensive for sure, but Freeman builds some of the best center consoles around
I want one of these. I could striped bass fish in Lake Moultrie, take it though the locks and go catch largemouth bass and redfish in the Cooper River, then I could go fishing in the Charleston harbor and even go offshore if I wanted to. It’s the perfect size. 28 feet isn’t too big but it’s not small either. Too bad I don’t have $400,000 to spend on a boat.

I'm a dart player myself went to the Bullshooter's World Finals in Chicago, Illinois in 2018 which I believe was Bullshooter's 33rd world finals that year.... quality in Myrtle Beach, SC in man's Cricket singles and in Omaha, Nebraska in blind-draw on Friday night took second place with an amazing guy from Kansas City, Mo.... 100% , everyone should drive/ride both before making a decision
Can that front deck be configured differently? Doesn't seem like a lot of room to fish up there. Can you fit bean bags in the back? My only experience is on a 37 out of Venice, but that thing had room for days.
The forward seating is the only option for now. Definitely takes up some of the fishing room. In the future they may have some more options. It’s a hybrid so not the die hard offshore center console like their other models. Could probably squeeze a bean bag in the back

34VH is still the best bargain. Not much more than this 28 and a lot more capability and comfort. Plus it only drafts 18” so can get into pretty skinny water too. Only advantage I see with this 28 is if you need to tow it around often, that would be easier than the 34.

Looked at this boat a few times now and want to like it. But, the boat seems too big for inshore, too small for offshore and has very little usable space inside of the boat. The cockpit is very small for bottom fishing or trolling and the front of the boat doesn’t seem user friendly for fighting fish around the boat. I guess if you can’t afford a 34 and feel like you have to buy something that says Freeman on the side to impress your friends for some reason, maybe this boat is for you. No where near the best hybrid. There are others that actually do some of this stuff pretty well. All about compromises but this one is a miss IMO.
Get a Costa cat hybrid best hands down not knocking freeman

I can't imagine why anyone would want a catamaran bay boat. It sits way too high and runs too deep. I can't see a market for this especially given how nice Scout 28 and Caymas 28s are.
I have the 28 foot world cat and even though it’s much slower than the Freeman, it has a lot more seating, and after watching you drive, it clearly is more seaworthy and has a head to boot.
Boats like this seem more purpose driven than trying to appeal to a broader audience. I love the speed, live wells and front casting deck but all for 100k more…? Great boat though.
It is a hybrid with much lower gunnels and bow, so not comparable with their other offshore center console models. The original 29 freeman would be more comparable as far as an offshore boat to the 28 world cat, but there’s only a couple of those out there. World cat is definitely a good boat and more geared to the family but overall build quality plus finish work on Freeman is much better. Cant forget about the better ride, sea handling, better fuel burn, and resale value on all their previous models.

They pretty much got away from installing 450’s , too many problems with them.
If Freeman is giving you a promotional/wholesale price due to your being an excellent ambassador for them, Yes...otherwise No.
