I have been doing research on this for a long time. I really would like to do this to my iPod it was the last gen ever built. Thanks a lot for your help. As of right now I plan to upgrade the battery and add more memory to my 160 gig.
have you tryed to fit everything on the slim back case? cause officially i seen its recomended a thick back case when upgrading to flash storage and bigger battery !
I built a white 1 tb iPod Video using an iflash solo with a 1 tb single SD card and installed a 3000 mah battery too. I made my dream iPod but I am feeling a little down with my loose click wheel. I heard people suggest I place tape underneath the click wheel. Does anyone have advice for fixing a poor fitting click wheel?
Quick question mate how do you get your battery to show fully charged ive charged my 3000mAh battery overnight and it only show's like half full but i dont know if its running at full capacity or just an error on the ipods side that it cant read it correctly.
I just completed this battery install a few days ago. Have yet to see the true power of this battery, but so far so good. What is this Bluetooth ad in you mentioned? I’d like to know which one would work so I can purchase it. And definitely post that video when you install it!
Okay, I understand, so how about this? I have a 4GB Nano, 3rd Generation needing a new battery and a memory upgrade (sd micro of 256GB). I'm appreciative of your suggestions.
Do you know if the 30 pin cord from the newer iPod Touch fits this ipod 5Gen if so they do have a wireless transmitter that plug right into work like a Bluetooth
Would a 30gig Ipod thin metal back still be compatible with a 3000 mah battery on an ipod classic 5.5G?? I'm using a solid state drive, so I've freed up some space in the unit. Or will I need to use the thicker back? Great video thank you.

ssd msata vs quad micro sd? im curious, i loved that ipod and now that i find about moding i want one but this cuestion strikes ... which storage is better?
msata is more reliable, much lower chance of it corrupting over time but it does use nearly double the battery than what SD cards use. sd cards are much less reliable and have a vastly bigger chance of corrupting (the chance goes much lower if you buy high end sd cards like Trancend high performance, or SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-II which are both considered very reliable, but also the cheaper High endurance cards of both SanDisk and Trancend are extremely reliable just much slower than their higher end cards, but i would completely avoid any of the cheapo SanDisk Ultra or any other cheapo low end SD card), either way SD cards is the way to go if you want to have the best battery life in an iPod. personally i am using two iPods, my 7th gen has a 512GB mSata SSD in it and my 5.5th Gen has x4 128GB (512GB) SD cards setup. i use the 5.5th Gen more than my 7th gen since of the increased battery life but in the past year and a half i already had one of my sd cards getting corrupt and had to replace it so yeah... its all up to you basically
I’m going with a quad micro SD for my next build. I have the parts, I just need to shoot the video. The mSATA SSD is getting harder to find, plus it generates way too much heat.
Which iPod version is this? Looks like the thicker body? I ask because I have the thinner body 120GB version, so wonder whether it would still accommodate the thickness of this battery.

That would be interesting but way too much work for little return. I can tell you anecdotally that I’m still running that same battery 6 years later and I have yet to have it suddenly run out of juice on me. It lasts for days on a single charge and I charge it only to top it up, not because it ran out in the middle of a tune. I’m actually way behind issuing some new iPod content - too many motorcycle projects, unfortunately.
Hi can you please help me if you can I have iPod classic 5th the iPod don't turn on is self just turn on when is plag in I been change a new battery and still the same I charge the new battery four about 8 hours and is never say is full any help thks
It could be that you have a bad battery, even though it's new. A common problem is the receptacle that you plug the battery into. If you wiggle it around too much a connection can break loose and the battery won't connect. Get a magnifying glass and check the 5 tiny pins. If one is loose it can be carefully soldered back with solder paste. Don't use solder wire as you can use too much and bridge 2 of the pins. I've re-soldered a new receptacle when one completely broke off, but it's very tricky. You'll need magnifying glasses and a temperature controlled soldering iron. Or take it to an electronics shop, who has the right equipment. This video will help you: ruclips.net/video/1vfupcWZsxw/видео.html.
Anthony, I am working on converting my fifth Gen iPod to SSD but instead of a flash card, I am dropping in the 1.8" 128 GB or 256 GB SSD. I am studying the battery mod and am planning to go that route since the original battery is definitely toast anyway. I am also looking at getting the 256 GB rear cover (larger and may allow for better heat dissipation since I am going to install this 3000 MaH battery). I have the two-sided tape that I will use to secure the battery to the back cover. However, the battery you link to is no longer being sold on Ebay. Does the battery indicator in the ipod show the battery full icon? How long did the battery last during playback? Did you encounter any problems like battery heating up or something of that sort?

Hello everyone. Ive been looking into modding an ipod classic 7th generation. Is anyone using the I-flash quad adapter with success? Want to get 400-800 gb of storage
Battery might fit a lot better between the display and iFlash… its a similar size and shape to the old HDD and you wont have to bend the cable… so much better
Would probably fit, but you’d need to bend the earphone cable around it. For me, I prefer to keep the battery away from the motherboard to keep the heat away and against the outside of the case for heat dissipation.
@@diegosanchez-su6wv depending on your cable management you can sync with ipod open so battery is far from ssd but SD cards are already faster than the iPod anyway so no real point in SSD speeds
@TheGelatinousSnake I got the ssd and adapter very cheap, but I'm planning of buying a iflash solo later, I was thinking of doing the battery between de ipod board and the ssd adapter, and putting a thermal pad on the ssd, so the heat can dissipate better using the back plate, but I'm not sure

any one know where to get internal blue tooth mod for theese ipods leme know
Internal bluetooth is a majorly difficult mod. Haven't tried it.
Can you help me..my ipod means alot to me
Awesome Im like the Ipod
I have thin version
Battery might fit a lot better between the display and iFlash… its a similar size and shape to the old HDD and you wont have to bend the cable… so much better
Would probably fit, but you’d need to bend the earphone cable around it. For me, I prefer to keep the battery away from the motherboard to keep the heat away and against the outside of the case for heat dissipation.
@tonystrackandtech1698 but the ssd can become hot during syncs, having it facing the battery isn't worst ?
@@diegosanchez-su6wv depending on your cable management you can sync with ipod open so battery is far from ssd but SD cards are already faster than the iPod anyway so no real point in SSD speeds
@TheGelatinousSnake I got the ssd and adapter very cheap, but I'm planning of buying a iflash solo later, I was thinking of doing the battery between de ipod board and the ssd adapter, and putting a thermal pad on the ssd, so the heat can dissipate better using the back plate, but I'm not sure
@@diegosanchez-su6wv if I had a spare ssd and iPod, I’d do the same. But luckily I had tons of SD cards so I get to enjoy the battery life savings. But in cold places, slightly warmer pocket might be nice
gen5.5 nice
He sounds so new yorkey
