Great reaction guys ! Note that even though this track has some religious symbolism, Lovebites is not a religious band. When Midori (blonde lead guitarist) was in the US, she visited a few churches to listen to Gospel music and she liked it. She then decided to co-write this song with some Gospel music influences. It just so happened when they released this song, it was also during the height of the pandemic, and Asami (lead vocalist) mentioned in an interview that "Glory to the World" is the band's gift of hope to the world at a very dark time. BTW, the place where the MV was filmed is not a church, it's a popular wedding venue and several other bands have also filmed their MVs there. Welcome back, I'm glad some of the feedback from your previous reaction didn't deter you from this amazing band 😅
I wouldn't go as far as to say that Lovebites or its members aren't religious that is baring false witness because you don't know them personally, for all we know they may be more religious than some or are into whatever religious concept: 69.0% of the population practices Shintō, 66.7% practice Buddhism, 1.5% practice Christianity and 6.2% practice other religions
@@salsaucedo That's fair enough. I was conveying that the band as an entity, not the individuals of the band, is not religious. For example, they're not a Christian band playing/promoting Christian music. As individuals, you're right, they don't disclose a lot about their personal lives. In the past, I have seen Miyako and Asami going to Buddhist/Shinto shrines in their vlogs, and that's as much as I know of their potential belief systems (if any).
The location where the Music Video was filmed is the Christian chapel Casa d'Angela in Yokohama. Wedding ceremonies are held there. The same as in any other Christian chapel (church) in other countries where there are Christian churches (for example, in Europe, America, Russia, etc.)
First, i always wonder if Asami took that chorus line ("Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all") from Whitney Houston or George Benson who original wrote "The greatest love of all". Second. they are not from the USA, so for sure they are not religious as only you guys are still these days. And if it would mostly be Buddah and not "God" and "Jesus" . And here is just binged some numbers to see if im right or wrong with that : "According to the 2022 edition of the Religion Yearbook by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan, the religion percentages in Japan are: Shinto: 48.5% Buddhism: 46.3% Christianity: 1.0% Other various religions: 4.0%" So 1% in Japan are christian .. how high are the chances for a group of 5 ? In general japanese however often use christian elements as what it really is : a kind of fantasy, just like Lord of the Rings or whatever. In "Neon Genesis Evangelion" for example the evil invader robots are called "angels" ..
@@beldin2987 If we measure the number of Christians not in %, but in people, then the number of Japanese professing Christianity is approximately 1 million 900 thousand people. This is roughly equivalent to the population of Sapporo City (#5 most populous in Japan)

The Church has been used by many of the great Japanese bands (Galneryus, Aldious, etc..). This is one of the rare songs actually written by Midori with Asami doing the lyrics as usual. She apparently saw a number of great churches and was inspired to create this song. It deals with hope and overcoming the COVID issue that really destroyed their scheduled world tour. Everything they do is epic even their MVs, however, this LIVE is even better and they can do any studio song LIVE better than any other band. If you want an all male band try Galneryus and their Angel of Salvation which was filmed in this same venue.
This was right in the middle of the pandemic lock downs(very much so in Japan) and Midori wanted to keep everyone in a positive mood that there would be a time when everything would be okay again and to keep going. Not really a religious idea as much as a positivity motivation. That church is a popular music video location as I understand it and it fit the mood. Glad the reactors are noticing the recent trolls and are curb stomping them when they see that nonsense.
the video was shot on 23th of december and the director wanted some nice pictures, so they shot this video in a popular tokyo wedding chapel (which is often used by bands for their video). and stan is right: the second storyline with the guy is: how would it be, when he came back now? looked pretty lost, if you ask me. and; no, they are not a religious band.
I see it this way: The guy symbolize the Wolfpack. We had this stigma not to see Lovebites live during the pandemic and Lovebites wrote this song for the Wolfpack to see the brighter future and believing in the world to heal! Or.. time for LOVEBITES-ism as a new world religion! *-) Actually there is lots of pure Christian metal bands. First that comes in my mind is the Orange County, CA based old band STRYPER. Check out the newer song Transgressor or the Chicago based band Resurrection band/Rez band cope and paste "Rez Band - Military Man 1992" .

“This guy” is Jesus Christ, who came into our world (reincarnation, bloody stigmata on his head and palms) in order to help people survive during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is very short. The singer Asami has contacts. She is brown eyed. There are blue eyed people in Japan with Mongolian heritage. Moreover, all girls are really brown/black haired.
The world has grown together over the last 30 years. Especially through the Internet. However, you have to bear in mind that people in Asia, and especially in Japan, still grow up differently to us in the West. Some things are better but many things are also worse than here. We should be careful not to draw conclusions too quickly or even judge and evaluate things with our own eyes.

Shinto is the Japanese national religion. To some extent, it can be translated as “the way of God.” The second most important thing is Buddhism and there is a small percentage of Christianism. The Japanese are very supportive and respectful of all religions in Japan. Recently, especially among young people, you can often see the symbol of Christianism on their clothes, on their necks - a cross. Although this does not mean that they are Christians.
Shohei Ohtani is the BEST baseball player in the world! Naoya Inoue is the BEST boxer in the world!and、、、LOVEBITES is the BEST heavy metal band in the world‼️ Commonly They are at their peak. They are treasure of Japan‼️
I do not think they are religious. Maybe the drummer Haruna is, but I can be wrong. And if they were then they probably would not be Christians as only 1% of the Japanese population are Christian. They are Shinto or Buddhist in Japan. Note the song is not written by Lovebites, but by someone named Mao that helped to write the earliest songs.
I congratulate all LOVEBITES fans. LOVEBITES have become a "kawaii metal band". I haven't looked at Wikipedia for a long time. Today I looked at an article about LOVEBITES. The number of errors has increased greatly. The so-called "true fans" (or maybe trolls?) worked hard. Some facts... are just lies. The word "heavy metal" has practically disappeared. It wasn’t enough for them to call LOVEBITES a “power metal band”, to distort many facts... They didn’t stop there. Now LOVEBITES is a "kawaii metal band". 🤦♂ I wouldn't be surprised if in a few months "true fans" of the band write on Wikipedia that LOVEBITES is a "disco-pop group."
Which article are you talking about? I just looked at the Wikipedia article and the word KAWAII isn't in it anywhere. I searched on the word and there were zero results.

LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,

Recommend these songs next - A Frozen Serenade 2021 LIVE in Tokyo with lyrics, Shadowmaker (MV), Thunder Vengeance [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]
Asami implied in an interview that the guy represents Jesus since the song was released around Christmas time and was infused with holy imagery.
Thank you for the info Mark. Yeah I didnt notice the symbolism to Jesus aswell. Very unique
The young man was at the crossroad of his life not knowing which way to turn then he heard this beautiful song from Lovebites and he started to hear their message that went from his troubled dark mind into his heart and then returned to his mind again with the light that he needed to see for eternity. Thanks ladies for sharing the truth to so many with your message of hope and love while playing and singing with excellence and professionalism. You have the gift that gives life a lift because love lifts life's illusions everyday. Love you all.
never like gospel music. but - as other commenters have said - midori visited churches and then wrote this song - and this is her answer to gospel - i'm all in !

Another great music video - RISING - awesome hi
We will have to check it out
She does sometimes wears blue contacts, she wears red ones for winds of transelvainia
Miyako wears colored contacts too. I wouldn't be surprised if they all do.
Amazing
The Church has been used by many of the great Japanese bands (Galneryus, Aldious, etc..). This is one of the rare songs actually written by Midori with Asami doing the lyrics as usual. She apparently saw a number of great churches and was inspired to create this song. It deals with hope and overcoming the COVID issue that really destroyed their scheduled world tour. Everything they do is epic even their MVs, however, this LIVE is even better and they can do any studio song LIVE better than any other band. If you want an all male band try Galneryus and their Angel of Salvation which was filmed in this same venue.
Awesome Susan. Thank you for sharing
Appreciate you for sharing the info and we are just looking out for the community 🐺👍
the video was shot on 23th of december and the director wanted some nice pictures, so they shot this video in a popular tokyo wedding chapel (which is often used by bands for their video). and stan is right: the second storyline with the guy is: how would it be, when he came back now? looked pretty lost, if you ask me. and; no, they are not a religious band.
Love that! Looked amazing
Stryper is awesome I have most of their albums. If you want a good thrash metal Christian band check out these two bands

“This guy” is Jesus Christ, who came into our world (reincarnation, bloody stigmata on his head and palms) in order to help people survive during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is very short. This is the idea of Naoki Takeyama (director of MV)

During the pandemic, LOVEBITES played concerts. In 2020 (February) and 2021 (March-April). There were also several releases (CD, MV, DVD/Blu-Ray)
Was that good or was that 'king good. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm still puzzled that nobody ever mentioned Whitney Houston (or at least George Benson), because :
"Learning to love yourself, It is the greatest love of all"

I dont think the band is particularly religious but the song has some religious tones for sure. Also this was released during the pandemic as a song to cheer up and lift the spirits of the fans.
Awesome react as always! 🤘
Loving it! Thank you for the kind words ☺️
Maybe what you know is "Glory, glory Man United"?
Thats the one 👍
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Miyako !💗glad you got the fact that they were just using religious imagery the band it self is not a religious band but like any great musician does they get inspiration in many places and from many topics i see comments explaining this song in more detail so i won't
Appreciate that Eric 🐺🤘
Shinto is the Japanese national religion. To some extent, it can be translated as “the way of God.” The second most important thing is Buddhism and there is a small percentage of Christianism. The Japanese are very supportive and respectful of all religions in Japan. Recently, especially among young people, you can often see the symbol of Christianism on their clothes, on their necks - a cross. Although this does not mean that they are Christians.
Thats awesome. Thank you for sharing
Shohei Ohtani is the BEST baseball player in the world!
Naoya Inoue is the BEST boxer in the world!and、、、LOVEBITES is the BEST heavy metal band in the world‼️
Commonly They are at their peak.
Cheers for the info ☺️
I congratulate all LOVEBITES fans. LOVEBITES have become a "kawaii metal band". I haven't looked at Wikipedia for a long time. Today I looked at an article about LOVEBITES. The number of errors has increased greatly. The so-called "true fans" (or maybe trolls?) worked hard. Some facts... are just lies. The word "heavy metal" has practically disappeared. It wasn’t enough for them to call LOVEBITES a “power metal band”, to distort many facts... They didn’t stop there. Now LOVEBITES is a "kawaii metal band". 🤦♂
I wouldn't be surprised if in a few months "true fans" of the band write on Wikipedia that LOVEBITES is a "disco-pop group."
Which article are you talking about? I just looked at the Wikipedia article and the word KAWAII isn't in it anywhere. I searched on the word and there were zero results.
@@ChadTheDragonLord Yesterday (10 hours ago) on Wikipedia, on the main page “Lovebites (band)” the following was written:
Background information : Power metal[1][2][3] , Kawaii metal[..]
This means that someone has once again amended the article. And removed “Kawaii Metal”. After reading my comment?!
Now: Power metal.
And other errors.
@@ChadTheDragonLord I confirm. a few days ago on Wikipedia it was written that Lovebites plays kawaii metal. I saw it.
You're right. After your comment, I specifically looked on Wikipedia (yesterday) and it was written that LoveBites is kawaii metal. Today this information has already disappeared.
@@ChadTheDragonLord There is currently no KAWAII on Wikipedia. Yesterday I read @user-lr3kc2fu9c's comment and looked at Wikpedia. It said that LoveBites play KAWAII metal ! I went through the information source. An article dedicated to Japanese KAWAII-bands. The journalist claims that Babymetal, Band Maid, LadyBaby, LoveBites, Hagane are KAWAII bands. Today the word KAWAII has disappeared from Wikipedia. You're right. But yesterday on Wikipedia it was written that LoveBites are a KAWAII metal band ! I read it myself! You are making claims in vain @user-lr3kc2fu9c . He wasn't lying when he wrote his comment!
