Thanks for making these cube videos. Work has been tough and stressful for the last few months and these videos always feel like a bit of comfort food when I relax at night
When you bazaar around 1:08:40, rather than discard entomb, there's a line where you can entomb for Lurrus, shallow grave it, and then cast animate dead on Etali. Basically you're paying an extra 3 mana and two cards to cast an animate dead, but maybe it's worth it there? You get a guaranteed 7/7 blocker to lessen the chance your opponent randomly wins with some way of getting Craterhoof into play, plus whatever you hit off Etali.
I keep making improvements to my cube, so seeing you draft a variety of decks is very helpful. I've seen Bitter Reunion be ignored many times, but this time you took it early, which teaches me that the card is good mainly as a reanimator / Lurrus card, so I'm glad to have one in my cube.
Thinking about creating a cube of my own. My only problem is that I honestly don’t own a whole lot of cards from any sets earlier than maybe Odyssey, when I started playing MTG. I definitely have enough cards, though, lol.
Yeah, I think Bitter Reunion is a pretty good card for reanimator, especially if you plan to cheat in big things without haste. It’s funny that it’s not anything special in something like mono red because so many of the red creatures in the cube already have haste.
39:39 Reflection targeting the elked Goldspan gives you an actual factual 4/4 flying dragon. Not sure if you knew that based on how you were counting damage.
At @18:10 when you took Putrid imp. I feel like Recruiter of the guard should have at least been considered. You already had 6 free white sources if you count concealed courtyard and it could fetch Lurrus or Pyromancer. I am not sure if it would make the final cut but I feel like it is more likely then putrid imp.
Maybe casting TimeTwister would have been fine, if only to get the Time Walk out of the opponent's graveyard? But then you risk them drawing it naturally, I suppose.
was surprised that you didn't play 5th land, exhume Iona, and bitter reunion (+ activate) on your time walk turn. yeah, OP gets a kinnan or uro (which goes back to the gy) and doesn't face lethal, but you could have named blue or even red with iona and probably won
On the timewalk turn around 59:30, any consideration for casting Exhume? You get back Griselbrand and opp gets an extra draw and 3 life. It would have worked well against the cards he played. Obviously, hindsight is 20/20, but it's the play I would have made at the time just based on "Griselbrand good" logic.
Ultimate Guard logo is a bit in the way. I'd reduce it's size, maybe use a smaller logo, as well as position it differently on screen, to make it less disruptive.
