Thanks for watching! I'm still learning Linux and wanted to correct myself that this distro is not based on Ubuntu but rather Linuxfx with KDE Plasma to make it look like Windows. A lot of the UI elements you saw were from KDE (including the nice looking network panel, thanks for pointing that out!)
Just want to add that Wubuntu has NOTHING to do with Ubuntu. It is not Ubuntu. People should stay away from this distro as it is not secure. This user explains it well:ruclips.net/video/QQD3yx-JF2E/видео.html
ubuntu is a linux distro . kde plasma is desktop enviroment they used for this kinda weird wannabe linux look like windows mode , and honestly i would not recommend this either you can install kde plasma & customize it to look like windows yourself its free and easy to do . Also i think this distro is related to linuxfx something like that.
OnlyOffice is its own project; not Wubuntu's. It's good, but it hasn't had support for proper right-to-left writing for a long while, and that's enough of a deal-breaker for me.
You can use any distro with KDE and just download Windows 11 theme, Icons in Settings and you need to download additional mod for rounded corners, and you're set. Powertoy just open sub window of regular KDE settings panel
Fun fact: Mirror flipping. If you are using Windows 11, you can't mirror flip the display even using the Command Prompt and if you command "xrandr -y", it will say ""xrandr" is not recognized as an internal or external command." and will not do the display. When you use this OS, when you use the Command Terminal, you'll put the command "xrandr -y", then it will flip the screen. Watching the Jennifer Hudson Show is very awkward, and interesting when it is mirror flipped.
Sir Pls list your laptop model and specs if you don't mind. I just wanna see if it could run on my laptop ( latitude e6400 from 2008) 3gb ram and ordinary hdd?
@@honorificabilitudinitatibusish Thanks Buddy sure! i will not instead i wil keep running win7 or may be upgrade to 2in 10 on these specs what do you say
Wouldn't recommend installing Wubuntu however if you're interested the system is running an Intel Core 2 Duo T6670 with 3GB DDR3 and Radeon HD 4300, I did install an SSD which helped a lot to make it feel faster
New to Linux, tried both, IMO mint is a lot better. Mint does the same job of cushioning the linux-windows transition almost as well while being quite lighter/faster
I think a lot of Windows users get excited hearing how Linux is lightweight and not resource heavy so when a distro like this comes along users who want to maximize performance might get excited. Plus the idea of merging Linux benefits and Windows OS is also pretty neat but yes Wubuntu ain't it
@@SurfsharkAcademy "Linux" is free its a requirement of the General Public License, GPL. What you're paying for is the support and development. Can you give me a brief description of OpenSUSE along with some issues with it?? I have tried many distro picker websites. It always says, use either endeavouros or opensuse.
But distros like these lack personality. It's just "I'm the Windows we have at home, just with less functionality" Other distros are better, like Linux Mint because they're trying to be their own thing instead of discount Windows with worse compatibility.
Yea, next time, there should be someone who is more knowledgeable about Linux desktop ecosystem. There are so many things wrong with the distro, that should be pointed out and made clear, like the fact, that their entire thing is based on KDE, which is themed, to make it look like windows. Most of the code and underlying work has been already done, so that's why it looks different/uncanny.
Personally, as a Windows user, I recommend Linux Mint. It's similar enough, BUT it tries to be something other than "No we have Windows at home", and had the best compatibility in my experience.

d
It's just KDE with slight customizations
And shady too
The most *slight customization of kde
And additional spyware included
this version of kde plasma is 4 or 5
They actually have a non Kde version for Windows 10 and both versions come with apps exclusive to this distro
6:23 That WiFi statistics panel is a feature of the KDE Plasma desktop, not of Ubuntu or Wubuntu. I use Arch btw
It looks neat
The widgets as well

i use arch btw too

So its KDE that is themed and has a bunch of Microsoft apps preinstalled.
And the Copilot app is really just a web app installed from Microsoft Edge
Microsoft apps? Nah they are just headless browser tabs

The video you pointed out is really great. Reccomend it too.
the wifi stuff is from kde the desktop environment they use this os is a kde theme

Yes this linux distro is part of linuxfx team, the maintainers are deuchebags and this whole debacle is like poison to linux.

man this should be a seperate channel you carry the whole channel
Thank you, really appreciate it!
This is a modified KDE plasma which is a desktop environment or DE

Do you think Windows 11 will run faster on that same computer?
This Distro had many different names before, they are not even securely saving product keys and activations on their "servers"
Yes, saw that and also the spoofed download numbers
just use mint or zorin os
Can we talk about how the stupid start menu pokes its head onto the top of the screen?
Linux Mint or Zorin OS are great Alternatives
exactly what i said
New to Linux, tried both, IMO mint is a lot better. Mint does the same job of cushioning the linux-windows transition almost as well while being quite lighter/faster
Why would anyone want Linux to look like windows? Linux can be for superior to windows at least at the look department.

That's the whole idea, a better Windows 11 than Windows 11 😂
There are a few paid Linux distros: Redhat, ZorinOS, and a few others come to mind.
True! Personally for me I associate Linux with being free so maybe that's why I thought it was strange to see a paid Wubuntu version

Bro should say a cursed Linux distro
Linux mint or Zorin Os
Maybe it's to give people who are sick of Windows a familiar feel, because Linux is a bit scary for your average Joe.

it's kde plasma lol
badly themed kde plasma lol
Windows 11 > Wubuntu
realest shit ever
Funny, I switched to linux prepared to have a completely different experience from windows
Mom: we have windows at home
If we linux users are happy with what we have, why will pay for a windows clone?
I would rather have Windows X-lite than Wubuntu
It's actually more shady than windows
Do u get surfshark for free
I know a good distro that looks like Windows.
Windows.

It has a paid version
