I love these British movies from the 50’s and 60’s.
I agree, the British movies of the 50's and 60's are the best. Some of the movies which were made during that
period of times include Chase a Crocker Shadow, with Ann Baker; 21 Paces from Baker Street with Van Johnson
and I wish these two could show here for us to watch.

Something in the detective’s way reminds me of Commissaire Maigret, as Georges Simenon describes him.. The times, too, the 50s and early 60s.. The world in black and white, in grey. I like these movies, both English and French.

Ironically it was Ronald Lewis' violent behaviour off-screen that damaged his acting career and helped to bankrupt him. He killed himself in a bedsit in 1982.
The guest star Yoland Whatever was Val Guests girl friend .

He rented a bungalow, murdered Emily Kaye and dismembered her body there, and invited another woman (Ethel Duncan) to spend the Easter weekend with him whilst Emily Kaye's remains were in a locked bedroom in the bungalow'.
Great little who dunnit/police procedural. Well worth a look see.

Jack Warner was one of the great actors of mid 20th century. Nice to see other good actors in film too. John Le Monsuier. One of them. Good film. Interesting how Brighton and Hove have enlarged since film made. Slice of society long gone.
