The annual Katara Dhow Festival an event that celebrated the history of the Dhows was launched 10years back. The we are five crew were at the 10th annual katara traditional dhow festival that was held this year which started on the 1st of december and went on till the 5th of december.
Qatar has a deep-rooted history with the traditional sailing boats, also known as dhows. It was in these boats that Qataris went out to sea in search of pearls and fishing.

NE venezuelan traditional wooden boats: ruclips.net/video/co4yKypjyTw/видео.html I think dhows made it to Sth America! Maybe it should be further researched, there could be a link. Margarita Island was actually well known for its pearls in the past.
