Yes the dance move is an homage to MJ. They have a lot of call backs to the Hip Hop/R&B "ancestors" in their songs especially 90s/00s artists. They are huge fans of that golden era of music. In "Howling" Maya has a line: "If I turn wolf then it must be a thriller" calling out Thriller by MJ and Jurin is moonwalking in a later verse. It really is awesome watching new people discover and enjoy XGs music. IMO they came out of the gate with it. This is still one of my favorite jams of theirs. Reminds me of old school Dancehall riddim for some reason. XG Warned us and they delivered. Lace'em on tight.

Her inflection on gyals makes me hope for a dancehall style song from them.
