The Spanish Tarot was my first TdM-style deck &, while I occasionally get sidetracked by other decks, it always turns out to be my favorite one to work with. The color & design are so simple & yet so compelling.
I adore all of these decks and the Fournier TdM was the first deck I ever bought and what I learnt with (I wrote little keywords on all the minors lol!) - I'll never be without a copy of that one! The Esoterico is now one of my foremost decks since I use the Picard minors system (partly inspired by this deck!) - it is gorgeous and for me the minors are amongst the nicest of any of the decks I own. The Spanish Tarot is a lovely sunny deck which I find so uplifting - just looking at it puts a smile on my face! It's amazing that your copy is still so pristine after all those years of use - I find Fournier cards are always excellent quality, plus they have such interesting decks. I think it's probably my favourite publishing house - so many of my most enduring and well-used decks are Fournier!
Perfectly said. I love the looks of the Esoterico. All of Fournier's decks are quality cardstock. Made to be used! Thank you for watching and commenting :) ~ Marilyn
I'm an El Gran Tarot fan also. I love Eudes Picard style minors, and I think this tarot foes Picard's system so beautifully. The Balbi is interesting, and Thomson Leng Rods are pretty, but I fell in love with El Gran Tarot Esoterico the first time I held it in my hands.
Please why you don't use the Marseille as much as thé spanish one ? I will have it for almost nothing. The El Gran Tarot Esoterico is my favorite. Soooo beautiful. I have the old version from 1978.
If you had to describe a difference in the way these three decks read what would that be? Do you tend to get more abrupt answers with one or the other? I just ordered the Spanish Tarot based on another of your videos but I already have El Gran Tarot Esoterico, and I find that it reads with great specificity but it's also quite blunt. You are right about the Fournier decks. They are high quality in every sense of the word. Especially I love the dimensions as they are narrow enough for small hands.
@@habituallearner7680 I think the way a deck speaks is very personal. Of these decks, the Spanish Tarot speaks to me most readily. Probably because I like it the best. I used this deck as a primary deck for years. I haven't used it in recent years, but now I think I want to dig it up and put it within quick reach on my table. Thank you for your question. ~ Marilyn
Thank you very much for all your movies!!! This year I dedicated to study TdM so I appreciate them very much🥰! I have the Spanish Tarot but the old vintage edition from 1978 where the colours are a little bit more muted and I love them!!! Now you are tempting me to buy this El Gran Tarot Esoterico...😁😜! Bless you for the whole series!!!
Thank you very much for the encouragement. It was a fun series to do. If I discover that I have other historic decks by other publishers I will be sure to add to this list. I love my Fournier decks, they feel so good in the hand. xoxo ~ Marilyn
This decks are awesome, and as Fournier make massive print runs, these decks usually are very cheap, at least here in Spain. Thank you for this video. 🥰
I received the Spanish Tarot today so I can give initial impressions although I can't comment on reading with it . The slight negatives: being the newer version the faces are a bit too orange. I was very surprised at the simplicity of the images and the changes to symbolism that I don't recognise yet and will take a bit of getting used to. The LWB is terrible with inaccurate history and RWS meanings attached. I never use LWBs anyway, so no loss there. The positives: it was very cheap to buy here in England. The cards feel wonderful. Perfect size (smaller than standard Tarot decks - which I like). Wonderful slide and shuffle. Similar to Lo Scarabeo but maybe better. Not everyone agrees with that, but I think that the card stock from those 2 companies are made for people who actually use their decks often. The pip card colours are gorgeous. Possibly my favourites ever. Despite the strange choices of symbols and the type I and type II mixture I kind of like it. The curves and softness and colour pallette is very appealing. Overall, I just really like it at first sight. Thanks for introducing me to another great deck. I can see why so many people love this deck and default to it.
@Aceofwands688 Your assessment of this deck is spot on. They did change the 'recipe' from how I remember it years ago, but it still gives me the warm fuzzies. I love this deck. Thank you for watching and sharing your observations! ~ Marilyn
@@MarilynFromTarotClarity I often think that my young daughter would enjoy tarot and I'm often wondering whether to let her decide which deck to start with her or steer her in a particular direction. I know we both began with the Swiss 1JJ and that formative intro to pips cards has probably stayed with us since. I am actually very tempted - if I did give her a deck - to give her this one as it has so many great qualities - especially for a younger beginner (not that it is exclusively for them or too basic in any way). Any thoughts?
@Aceofwands688 I think the Fournier is a great first deck, and she'll be keeping good company with a lot of pros who love it. The color coding of the suits will be helpful, especially with new readers who often confuse the swords and batons. It's like a built-in familiarity that let's a person feel comfortable using them. Like a comfort food kind of deck. It feels good! The Spanish Tarot is also awesome. I used both of them quite a lot in my formative years. I hope she loves tarot! It's such a rich treasure! ~ Marilyn
@@MarilynFromTarotClarity Hi I agree. I should have clarified and I'm not sure if we are talking about the same one, but I was specifically thinking of the Spanish Tarot deck.

It's definitely a fun deck and one I used exclusively for years. Thank you for hanging out on my channel. I appreciate your presence. ~ Marilyn
I found it Marilyn!!!

Hi. Thank you for commenting. I don't understand your question however. Can you explain again what you meant? Thank you!
Oooh, love all those colors!! Very interesting.
Hi :) Yes, the Fournier decks are big on color! ~ Marilyn
I love my Fournier collection!! 💚
I don't have many of their decks, but Fournier decks feel good in the hand. :)
I’ve never owned a Fournier deck but I should get one. I love those muted tones. Thanks for the series
They shuffle and handle well too. They feel good in the hand. :)
