Hey Hylian, I have a question regarding the video where you transferred shiny mew up to Pokémon HOME. Everywhere online I look, it says it is impossible to transfer to home if the mew is caught on a non Japanese emerald cartridge (the event was only officially distributed in Japan), yet you seem to have done it. I'm wondering if that information is false or if I'm missing something
Every cartridge, Japanese or not, has the Mew event on it. While it’s true the event was only distributed in Japan many years ago, it still is possible to access Faraway Island, catch Mew, and then transfer it to HOME no matter what cartridge it was caught on. The date caught doesn’t matter, because even a Mew which was caught during the event and has been sitting on the cartridge for 20 years will appear as being caught today should someone were to transfer it up. The only flag other than game location Mew was caught that I imagine HOME should check for is the language of the Emerald cartridge. As it turns out, it doesn’t seem to matter to HOME what the language of cartridge is, hence why I was able to transfer my shiny Mew up in 2022. It is still possible to transfer even today. It will be interesting to see what a Virtual Console re-release of Emerald, hopefully in the future, will decide to do in terms of allowing the Mew to be transferred to HOME.
