The legs for the awning are incorporated within the awning itself. Wind it out about 18 inches and unfold them.

Haha thanks. Sadly I got made redundant from there in Dec 2021 along with 95% of the team! I do car reviews every week on Tim Rodie Drives Stuff though.
Very ironic that the Volkswagen California can’t be purchased in California, or anywhere else in America, for that matter. So, I have only seen one in RUclips videos, such as this. I must say that the internal components of the van appear to be made of very cheap, flimsy materials. And, I’m sure it sells for a pretty penny.

Great video Tim. We just hired a 2 year old Ocean and found that the quality just wasn't there. The pop up roof etc is nice but the quality, fit and finish of the interior trim doesn't justify the price of buying one. It's no wonder that people choose to convert a panel van. Doesnt stop me from wanting one though.....
Same here, they are nice but room is tight in there and the fixtures are really poor, we had a broken flimsy blind, the roller cupboard was broken which is apprently common too...pretty poor for VW
James Brian Interesting. Thanks for telling us. I must admit, I’ve seen T6 conversions which I think are better, and there are many other converted vans (not VWs) with great features.

Nice review. We were seriously considering buying one of these instead of the Stelvio Q we ended up with, but our garage door was too low.
What a totally different pair of cars (price aside!) both would be a great garage... also, campervan prices are ridiculously strong second hand at the mo. I love me a Stelvio Q though!
Yea, very different. We rented a California Beach on Iceland a few years back, and were rather impressed. However, the Ocean as in your review would have been a better choice. The Stelvio is a great car. We'll just bring a tent instead :-) Watch the Stelvio videos on my channel if you like the car. We plan to keep it forever.
Wait, a Canadian license plate on the back of the car and a German one in the front? 😳
Haha yup. The German plate on the front was just for show, I think... they were imported and put on Canadian manufacturer test plates

The Volkswagen a good engine is a van the materials are quality but is small and is very expensive is not affordable you pay a lot the Volkswagen brand hurts that is so expensive
